Cricket Rohman was born in Racine, Wisconsin but soon moved to the Chicago area, and later on to Estes Park, Colorado, where deer, elk, and bobcats wandered by her home on a daily basis. She spent much of her young childhood either playing “school,” setting her favorite stuffed animals up in front of a chalkboard and teaching them everything she knew, or reading. She was a very good little girl, getting in trouble only when she got caught reading under the covers with a flashlight long into the night.
