Life on the remote island of Papavray in the 1970s was a world away from Mary J. MacLeod's urban existence in the south of England. And this peaceful environment was just what she was looking for. While indoor toilets were still something of a luxury, and 'teleeffissions' could produce terror in some of the older residents, the glory of the mountains and the sea combined with the warmth of the island people meant she had found a haven for her family. Mary's post as district nurse gave her a unique insight into island life, and her stories of the troubles, joys, drama and comedies endured by her patients make this a charming and humorous account of community life on a small island in a bygone era. "Mine is a story that no one wants to hear." This is the story of a boy who grew into a dysfunctional man. Chai Pinit had a normal childhood in Thailand until he was molested by a teacher. Unable to confide in anyone or seek counselling for the abuse, he started drinking in his teenage years and became an alcoholic who sold his body for money in the red-light districts of Bangkok and Pattaya. But now, after years of emotional torment and despair, the author feels it is time to tell his heartbreaking story. Bangkok Boy is a devastating account of a childhood stolen by sexual abuse and the consequences that follows. The book is also a story of redemption and his struggle to rebuild his life. Bangkok Boy is no ordinary story. It is one of hope and triumph in the face of adversity. Views: 70

She expected him to die. They expected to break him. Joseph has always been good at doing the unexpected. It's what has kept him alive so long. Even after being locked away in a mental institution where they expected him to quietly fade away into obscurity, Joseph did the unexpected and escaped. Now they've found him. He's expecting jail, or maybe a return to the nuthouse. Instead they're offering him a chance to rebuild his career, and maybe even his life. He's been offered a chance to resume his military career, and train a secret squad. It's his last chance.Joseph expected a hardcore group of fighting men. Men that ate coal and crapped diamonds. He expected a well trained, highly experience group of soldiers. What he got were untrained, but freakishly powerful women. Joseph just simply isn't prepared to deal with a young but feisty goth witch (Don't call her cute!), a lonely lesbian werewolf, a lecherous ghost nun, and a beautiful vampire whose only creatures of the night are the people she goes raiding with on World of Warcraft at 2 a.m.If that wasn't enough trouble, the last member of his squad is the very same woman that tortured him, and killed his men. Can Joseph come to grips with who he is, and find his own humanity among the monsters? Welcome to the Midnight Squad, they're not what you'd expect. From the AuthorI just had a blast writing this. It's just fun writing about a guy surrounded by beautiful women, and let's be honest almost all women are beautiful in their own unique ways. (With the exception of wicked stepmothers, and most reality show celebrities.) Watching him grow from a horndog that thinks with his little head, to a man that really cares about the women around him was a pleasure. The women were just as much fun, and I'm looking forward to really developing them all more fully in the future. I loved watching them grow into something more than glorified eye candy. If I have any complaint, it is that during the writing process I've really become addicted to this, and between writing and reading kindle books like its some kind of weird fetish, my XBox Call of Duty skills have eroded. It's actually been six months since I touched the Xbox. My membership expired a while back, and so this has got to be the cheapest addiction ever. So thank you all for reading it. From the Inside FlapJoseph Reaper, or Grim as he is often called. Trains a team of powerful women in the art of combat, but each woman brings her own set of unique skills, and problems. Along the way, he's finding himself increasingly drawn to a beautiful vampire, but is it love, or just a death wish. The werewolf is a lonely lesbian that's now set her sights on Joseph's little sister. The ghost, Janine, was a nun burned at the stake as a witch to cover up the monstrous behavior of the people around her. Katy ran away from home a while ago, and now after growing up in the secret military compound she's turned everyone into her own surrogate family. Finally, there is Alhambra, a jinn that tortured Joseph, and killed his men. somehow he's expected to make all this work.Meanwhile he's starting to have questions about whether this last chance at reclaiming his career is just too good to be true. Some things just don't add up. Is it his own paranoia, or is Joseph running out of time. Views: 70
