In the aftermath of Operation Thunderball, Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s trail has gone cold—and so has 007’s love for his job. The only thing that can rekindle his passion is Contessa Teresa “Tracy” di Vicenzo, a troubled young woman who shares his taste for fast cars and danger. She’s the daughter of a powerful crime boss, and he thinks Bond’s hand in marriage may be the solution to all her problems. Bond’s not ready to settle down—yet—but he soon finds himself falling for the enigmatic Tracy. After finally tracking the SPECTRE chief to a stronghold in the Swiss Alps, Bond uncovers the details of Blofeld’s latest plot: a biological warfare scheme more audacious than anything the fiend has tried before. Now Bond must save the world once again—and survive Blofeld’s last, very personal, act of vengeance.ReviewBond is what every man would like to be, and what every woman would like to have between her sheets -- Raymond Chandler Sunday Times About the AuthorIan Fleming was born in London on May 28, 1908. He was educated at Eton College and later spent a formative period studying languages in Europe. His first job was with Reuters News Agency where a Moscow posting gave him firsthand experience with what would become his literary bete noire—the Soviet Union. During World War II he served as Assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence and played a key role in Allied espionage operations. After the war he worked as foreign manager of the Sunday Times, a job that allowed him to spend two months each year in Jamaica. Here, in 1952, at his home “Goldeneye,” he wrote a book called Casino Royale—and James Bond was born. The first print run sold out within a month. For the next twelve years Fleming produced a novel a year featuring Special Agent 007, the most famous spy of the century. His travels, interests, and wartime experience lent authority to everything he wrote. Raymond Chandler described him as “the most forceful and driving writer of thrillers in England.” Sales soared when President Kennedy named the fifth title, From Russia With Love, one of his favorite books. The Bond novels have sold more than one hundred million copies worldwide, boosted by the hugely successful film franchise that began in 1962 with the release of Dr. No. He married Anne Rothermere in 1952. His story about a magical car, written in 1961 for their only son Caspar, went on to become the well- loved novel and film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Fleming died of heart failure on August 12, 1964, at the age of fifty-six. Views: 54
A brutal international underworld. A lost girl. A PI determined to burn it all.

To confront criminals on the rise, ruthless traffickers, and corrupt policemen, he must burn down his concepts of right and wrong, and draw upon the darkest corners of his psyche.
But these are facets of himself Adam has long denied exist. Bubbling just beneath the surface, he has kept that anger and violence caged all his life. Because he is a good person.

Review from Readers' Favourite:
The Dead and the Missing is loaded with twists and turns and excitement, and had me holding my breath in fear several times, never being one hundred percent sure of how it would end. A.D. Davies is a very talented author.
Author Questions
Q: So, a private investigator travelling the world?
A: Yes, I love exploring exotic locations, and I love detective fiction, so why not combine them into a thriller?
Q: Quite hard-boilded?
A: It has some violence, a bit of swearing but not excessive. Actually, I recently edited out the majority of F-words after a lot of feedback, so it's more in line with the character now.
Q: Have we seen characters like Adam Park before? Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series, Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar, John Connolly’s Charlie Parker . . . ?
A: Adam is perhaps ‘of a type’ but he’s very different from Jack Reacher in that he is less of a loner, and perhaps a little more cerebral. He knows how to handle himself, but he’s on a journey. Jack Reacher is absolutely certain of himself, while Adam is evolving. When we meet him in this first novel, he has never killed.
Q: Presumably that will change?
A: A lotchanges for Adam over the course of this novel. It’s a dark mystery, with action-adventure elements, but sits firmly in that noir crime genre where the protagonist isn’t black-and-white.
Q: Will there be more to come from Adam?
A: There are 5 sequels available now, and more planned for the future.
Q: And when you say ‘sequels’ does each book follow into the next?
A: While there are ongoing story strands that span the series – such as Adam’s personal life, and his battle with the darkness inside himself – each main plot is self-contained. While it would be advisable to read them in order, you absolutely don’t have to.
Q: Finally, what is the correct reading order?
A: Well, start with the free ebook edition of The Dead and the Missing then -
*A Desperate Paradise
The Shadows of Empty Men
Night at the George Washington Diner (novella)
Master the Flame
Under the Long White Cloud*
Q: And this isn’t your only series, it is?
A: No, I have the Detective Sergeant Alicia Friend series. She’s an unusually perky UK-based detective. Her first novel His First His Second is free.

About the Author
A. D. Davies grew up in Leeds, West Yorkshire. In high school his ambition was to be a writer of horror novels, although in adult life he became an avid fan of crime fiction. After a long stint in an unsatisfying job, he attended the University of Leeds where he attained a degree in creative writing. Now writing novels, his signature style involves placing characters in dangerous, heightened situations, where violence isn’t constant, but when it does surface, there are always consequences. When a character gets hit, it hurts; when a gun is fired, it’s always a big deal; and killing isn’t something people do lightly. A. D. Davies is well-travelled, his favourite destinations being New Zealand and Vietnam, which have influenced his writing immensely, especially obvious in his novel Twilight Burning, released early summer 2015. For now, however, globe-trotting is taking a back-seat to raising his two children and writing, although he hopes to one day combine all three. He now resides in Staffordshire, UK, with his wife and two children. Here is the story of David as you have never heard it before: from the king himself, telling the unofficial version, the one he never allowed his court scribes to recount. In his mind, history is written to praise the victorious—but at the last stretch of his illustrious life, he feels an irresistible urge to tell the truth. In the first volume, Rise to Power, David gives you a fascinating account of his early years, culminating with a tribal coronation. Rooted in ancient lore, his is a surprisingly modern memoir. In an era of cruelty, when destroying the enemy is deemed a sacred directive, the slayer of Goliath finds a way to become larger than life. His search for a path to power leads him in ways that are, at times, scandalous. Notorious for his contradictions, David is seen by others as a gifted court entertainer, a successful captain in Saul’s army, a cunning fugitive, a traitor leading a gang of felons, and a ruthless raider of neighboring towns who leaves no witnesses behind. How does he see himself, during this first phase of his life? With his hands stained with blood, can he find an inner balance between conflicting drives: his ambition for the crown, his determination to survive the conflict with Saul, and his longing for purity, for a touch of the divine, as expressed so lyrically in his psalms and music?** Views: 54
