Fed up with the hollow glitz and fakery that is Hollywood, screen siren Kristen Mann heads home to Stratton to get her feet back on the ground and re-charge. Things don't go quite to plan when her car breaks down, leaving her to be rescued by her very own knight in shining armor. Only this knight isn't any ordinary man. He's a werewolf with his own ideas on dealing with damsels in distress.
Kyle Roberts has watched every film Kristen has ever made, so when she falls into his lap, or more accurately, he tows her little car back to the workshop he runs with his uncle, he can't believe his luck. But his admiration for her acting abilities doesn't stop his wolf scenting the woman it wants. So what if she's older than he is? Age is just a number, and there are a few digits he'd like to introduce her to...
But when Hollywood comes calling, in the shape of a slick agent and a rabid pack of reporters, can Kyle put aside his pride and convince Kristen that he's the wolf for her? Views: 31
Some thing flashed and a great roar deafened the audience. When the smoke and green-tinged vapor cleared, a lamviin alien - what was left of it, anyway - lay dead before the horrified gaze of several hundred eyewitnesses. Responsibility for solving the crime lay squarely on the three shoulders of Bucketeer-Inquirer Mav. But the windowless rokm had been locked, no one saw the killer, and the murder weapon itself was a mystery. Views: 31
Slaves of The Klau by Jack Vance is a short but very intense novel. A lowly, though rebellious human servant to an advanced alien is seized and taken into the most desperate slavery under utterly ruthless masters. His initial attempts at escape turn into an ongoing journey of personal development as his mental strength and power grow to enable him to take command of increasingly complex and hazardous situations. The story is completely believable and consistent, as the hero fights to overcome setback after setback. It is wonderfully woven between the different personalities of a number of alien races, a highly technological future, and intergalactic war. Very clever ideas, very visual, delightfully written. This is a timeless piece. It has been on my bookshelf for nearly thirty years and has been read many times. Views: 31
