DANMAR: Warrior of Tears

A Novella from the world of Kitra, featuring the Onlashian dragons: Imperial Captain Marteen leads a suicide mission into enemy territory, certain of failure before he had even met the Allied Forces.Yellow Dani, junior commander in the Allied Forces, rescues the only surviving Imperial soldier from the carnage. Will Marteen end up as the dragon's prisoner, or his supper?Captain Marteen has spent most of his life following orders. Now he finds himself part of a group of soldiers and mages on loan to the King of Essa, taking part in an attempted invasion of the northern countries of Ranmor. His habit of always questioning orders lands him in the lead of a mixed group of Imperial and Essian soldiers ordered into enemy territory to ambush the approaching Allied forces. This he immediately recognises as a suicide mission. The yellow dragon, Daninackan, is second in command of the Onlashian military healers travelling with the Allied forces to confront the invaders. The Hidden Kingdom

The WINGS OF FIRE saga continues! Deep in the rain forest, danger awaits... Glory knows the dragon world is wrong about her tribe. After all, she isn't "as lazy as a RainWing" -- she isn't lazy at all! Maybe she wasn't meant to be one of the dragonets of destiny, as the older dragons constantly remind her, but Glory is sharp and her venom is deadly... except, of course, no one knows it. When the dragonets seek shelter in the rain forest, Glory is devastated to find that the treetops are full of RainWings that no dragon could ever call dangerous. They nap all day and know nothing of the rest of Pyrrhia. Worst of all, they don't realize -- or care -- that RainWings are going missing from their beautiful forest. But Glory and the dragonets are determined to find the missing dragons, even if it drags the peaceful RainWing kingdom where they never wanted to be -- in the middle of the war.

The Golgotha Dancers

"Hold on, there!" came a sharp challenge from the stairs behind and below me. "What are you doing? And what's that picture doing?" It was one of the Museum's guards. "I was going to ask somebody that same question," I told him as austerely as I could manage. "What about this picture? I thought there was a Böcklin hanging here." The guard relaxed. "Oh, I beg your pardon, sir. I thought you were somebody else--the man who brought that thing." He nodded at the picture. "Personally, I think it's plain beastly." "And the Museum has accepted it at last?" I asked. He shook his head. "Oh, no, sir." I, too, came close. There was no plate beneath the painting. But in the lower left-hand corner of the canvas were sprawling capitals, pale paint on the dark, spelling out the word GOLGOTHA. Beneath these, in small, barely readable script: I sold my soul that I might paint a living picture.
