Shifters dominate the human world, while Lightbearers stay hidden away in their magically-protected coterie. That is, until Olivia Bennett, princess of the Lightbearers, is captured by the most powerful shifter of them all—Quentin Lyons, who believes that to kill a Lightbearer is to inherit her magic.
His son, Tanner, doesn’t believe his father’s theory. In the ultimate betrayal, Tanner rescues Olivia and vows to return her to her home. Along the way, he discovers two other Lightbearers who have left the safety of the coterie, not to mention an attraction to the Lightbearer princess that becomes increasingly more difficult to ignore with each hour he spends in her company.
The attraction makes no sense. Lightbearers and shifters have been mortal enemies since the dawn of time. He’s supposed to feel the urge to kill her, not … well, you know.
**Review
This is a great book! It hooks the reader from the first page to the very last with its exciting story and original plot. - Editorial Review Courtesy of InD'tale Magazine
This was one fantastic read. This book surprised me, in a good way. I saw that it was a shifter book when I choose to review it and I automatically "assumed" (you know what they say...) that when I see shifter, that means wolf shifter. That wasn't the case with this book. The characters in this book aren't wolf shifters, they can shift into any animal that they want. Isn't that so cool? I never read a book where the characters could shift into any animal that they want...It's so good! --Editorial Review Courtesy of Romancing The Book
This book started off with action and kept the pace up through out the book. Tanner is a shifter that has left his pack since he doesn't agree with his father, The Alpha.
Olivia is a Lightbearer, a sworn enemy of shifters, or so she thinks. When Tanner's father wants him to take her powers, Tanner instead rescues her and goes on the run to save her.
What neither Tanner or Olivia expected was to feel an attraction that is like a magnetic force pulling them together. Will they risk everything for love? Or will they both return to the duties that fate has set for them?
You will have to read this book to get those answers, I was not disappointed at all and I cannot wait to read more from Tami Lund! -- Editorial review courtesy of Books Are My Escape

When Terri flew from England to New York to help plan her cousin Kate's wedding, she didn't know what she expected - but it certainly wasn't the Argeneaus. Her new in-laws may seem a little strange, with the sometimes-chipper sometimes-brooding writer Lucern - Kate's fiancee - and Vincent, the wacky stage actor (she couldn't imagine Broadway casting a hungrier looking all singing, all dancing Dracula), but having just discovered how expensive New York hotels can be, suddenly their offer of accomodation looks much more attractive. . . . and then there's Bastien. Even taller, darker and hungrier looking than the other two, just looking into his eyes is enough to make Terri admit she's falling for him. Surely she can put up with the Argeneau's odd habits for a few days - to stay in their luxurious penthouse apartment, with the lovely Bastien - if it lets her avoid New York's blood-sucking hotel prices!
