But, in this eBook original prequel short story, before Marelli becomes the world’s most powerful mob boss, he must prove he has what it takes to lead the pack.   Features a preview of Lorenzo Carcaterra’s riveting new novel, The Wolf! My name is Vincent Marelli, and when I was a young man life gave me a choice: play by the rules . . . or play to win. You might say I chose well, because today I am the don of all dons, commanding the biggest, most successful organized crime operation in the world. But all that I have—everything I won—I got by working harder, thinking smarter, and fighting better than the rest. This is the story of how I started. How my uncle gave me a job to do and turned me loose in the big, bad world he’d already conquered. And how I took on the man who tried to take on the wrong people—my people. I won’t say what happened. You can find out for yourself. Let’s just say that killing your enemy is easy, but there are better ways to get revenge. And the best revenge is a gift that keeps on giving. Advance praise for The Wolf *  “Lorenzo Carcaterra is one of the my favorite writers in the world, and The Wolf is his best book yet. In it you’ll meet the superbly crafted crime boss Vincent Marelli—and then you’ll spend this riveting read trying to decide whether Marelli, like Michael Corleone, is a hero or a villain. Pick up a copy of The Wolf* and you won’t put it down until the surprise ending!”—Lisa Scottoline, New York Times bestselling author of Accused “The Wolf crackles with the geopolitical high stakes of Homeland, the intrigue and lore of The Godfather, and the clock-ticking final showdown of 24*. No one combines such themes as Renaissance art, global terror, and all things Italian like Lorenzo Carcaterra.”—Andrew Gross, New York Times bestselling author of Everything to Lose Praise for Lorenzo Carcaterra   “Terrifying and heartbreaking . . . a brilliant, troubling, important book.”—Jonathan Kellerman, on Sleepers   “Crackles with action . . . a riveting and ingenious read that will keep you turning the pages.”—Douglas Preston, on Midnight Angels “A powerful read . . . with plenty of action and dialogue as authentic as the streets of New York.” —St. Petersburg Times , on Paradise City “A brilliant, multilayered novel that breathes and bleeds on every page. For fifteen years, Nap has been searching, both for Maura and for the real reason behind his brother's death. And now, it looks as though he may finally find what he's been looking for.  When Maura's fingerprints turn up in the rental car of a suspected murderer, Nap embarks on a quest for answers that only leads to more questions—about the woman he loved, about the childhood friends he thought he knew, about the abandoned military base near where he grew up, and mostly about Leo and Diana—whose deaths are darker and far more sinister than Nap ever dared imagine.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

Since his debut in 1955, Tom Ripley has evolved into the ultimate bad boy sociopath, influencing countless novelists and filmmakers. In this first novel, we are introduced to suave, handsome Tom Ripley: a young striver, newly arrived in the heady world of Manhattan in the 1950s. A product of a broken home, branded a "sissy" by his dismissive Aunt Dottie, Ripley becomes enamored of the moneyed world of his new friend, Dickie Greenleaf. This fondness turns obsessive when Ripley is sent to Italy to bring back his libertine pal but grows enraged by Dickie's ambivalent feelings for Marge, a charming American dilettante. A dark reworking of Henry James's The Ambassadors, The Talented Mr. Ripley—is up to his tricks in a 90s film and also Rene Clement's 60s film, "Purple Noon."

Supernatural detectives and mythical beasts come together perfectly for the first installment in a promising FBI mystery series!” ~JulieThe Foehammer Act has created an America where vampires, werewolves, elves, orcs, and other haunting creatures are now citizens of the United States, with all of the rights, protections, and privileges afforded the human. It’s a new world order, and it’s anything but orderly! When FBI Agent Richard Donovan comes back from a near death experience, he doesn’t expect to get tossed into the deep end of things, but that is exactly what happens. After years of being a successful agent, he gets the promotion he never wanted as the lead investigator for a team of paranormal detectives who have to investigate all crimes done by and against America’s supernatural citizens.Brand new to the paranormal FBI investigation game, Donovan has to travel to werewolf country, USA, to figure out why Lillian Lawson, a werewolf, killed her human family. It seems to be fairly cut and dry. Werewolves kill people all the time, right? It’s not that hard to picture one going lunar on her own family. But when he gets to Bishop, New Hampshire, Donovan realizes the facts don’t add up, and Lillian, no matter how wolfish she can get, doesn’t come across as a killer. When Deputy Sharon Morris tells him that the ghost of Lillian’s husband doesn’t believe it either, he realizes that there is more to this werewolf mystery than meets the eye.

The Jupiter Paradox

The Rift Incident had to be investigated.Following the Era of Conflict between Homo-Sapiens and the Cyborgs they created, a tentative period of cooperation emerged. The residual population was heavily skewed to the Borg template. By 2175, the radiation threat from the dissipating ozone layer had escalated to worrying levels. The Rift Incident had to be investigated, and a rigorous selection process for the crew resulted in four Borg and two humans heading for Jupiter space. What they discovered would become known as The Jupiter Paradox. Was it a genuine paradox or merely a puzzle to which there was no acceptable solution? What would happen if they did nothing? It clearly illustrated that the Borgs and their creators would have to strengthen their alliance quickly in order to deal with the discovery, and that wasn’t going to be easy.

Morning Sickness

Denise Perkins is thrilled to be expecting, but her happy pregnancy quickly becomes terrifying when she experiences abnormal morning sickness and an insatiable craving for meat.Blue Blue Sea was a Thoroughbred horse born on January 22, 1999. His sire (father) was Sea Hero who won the Kentucky Derby in 1993 and then won the "summer derby" the Travers Stakes. His dam (mother) was Alytude a decent racehorse whose own sire, Alysheba, won both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes in 1987.Blue Blue Sea never quite achieved major success on the racetrack and was retired by his last owners in 2004. Miranda N. Prather, his human, found him that year via the CANTER website and it was "love" at first site. They shared many adventures together. Blue Blue Sea wouldn't go on to be a jumper or show mount, but he would show his tremendous heart and grit when battling several illnesses, the biggest being a malabsorption disorder that gave him recurring bouts of colic (upset tummy). Blue Blue Sea lived more than seven years longer than some veterinarians thought he would. Sadly and suddenly, Blue Blue Sea died on February 9, 2013, at the age of 14. The List of Seven

On Christmas Day 1884, a desperate plea from a mysterious woman leads Arthur Conan Doyle—struggling physician, aspiring writer, and part-time demystifier of the occult—to a seance in London’s East End and into a fiendish and deadly trap. Stunned by a shocking display of black magic, Doyle witnesses a murder, nearly falling victim himself before being rescued by a secretive stranger: Jack Sparks, a man who claims to be special agent to Queen Victoria. He tells Doyle that he has been targeted by a diabolical coven of Satanists—the Dark Brotherhood. As they track their attackers across the length and breadth of Britain, assailed by forces of darkness both human and supernatural, Conan Doyle and Sparks unmask a terrifying conspiracy that threatens not only the Crown but the very fabric of modern civilization. Their only clue: a list of seven names, the leaders of the Brotherhood. Skeptical by nature and profession, Doyle labors to prove that the events he has witnessed—horrifying visions, zombies, ghouls, molecular alteration—are elaborate ruses with logical explanations. But if so, why? Simply because Doyle’s anti-occultist writings, never even published, have inadvertently exposed the Brotherhood’s intentions? Who is the elusive, seemingly superhuman mastermind behind the Seven? Most important, as Doyle continues to put his life in the hands of Jack Sparks, the question persists: Can Sparks be trusted?
