Cage After his older brother Ben was killed by shifters, Cage followed in Ben’s footsteps and joined the military. His job is simple: protect the surviving civilians in the wreckage of Manhattan and put down the dangerous shifter mutants prowling the streets. Bitter with revenge, he can’t wait for a chance to get even with the monsters who killed his brother. Bindi Half-wolf, half-human Bindi is one of Cage’s monsters. She lives underground, hiding away from military patrols and protecting the ragtag pack of shifter children who have come to depend on her. She’d do anything to get out of the city and get her pack to safety, but nobody gets in - or out - of this city. On Christmas Eve, Cage catches Bindi –in human form - stealing extra rations for her pack. In a moment of pity he lets her go, but not without being struck by a sense that there’s something special about her. Something… different. * a Shifter Romance Series that will pull at your heartstrings When he finally discovers her secret, Cage must decide what’s more important to him – finally avenging his brother, or saving the woman he’s come to love. And Bindi will learn a lesson about humanity...and about love. ** Excerpt: The guard takes a step back, still holding my arm with one hand as he looks down at the stolen packages. He is vulnerable, his body open. There. It’s time. He knows. Break his arm first, take his gun, kill him, and run. The thoughts run through my mind, a carefully planned scenario that I’ve never had to actually act out. My pulse quickens, my skin tight over my limbs. I’m ready to shift into my wolf form if I need to. Looking up at him, though, I can’t bring myself to raise my arm, to snap his elbow. Instead I pull back and break his hold with a twist of my arm, leaping away from him and bending to snatch my cane up from the ground. I am crouched, ready to run, when I look up and see his eyes. They’re light brown, flecked with gold, and even in the dim light they shimmer and glow. Something in them draws me close, makes me want to go back to him, to lean forward and see who he is, who he really is, under the soldier’s uniform. His face is mesmerizing, and I breathe quickly, trying to will myself into action. Kill or be killed. Kill or be killed. He’s huge, and I am losing the element of surprise with each second I wait. Huge. Strong. His shoulders are broad and heavy, and I can’t keep my eyes from wandering over his defined muscles, can’t stop imagining how his hand would feel if it moved over my hips, my body. In this instant, I can feel my pulse hammering against the insides of my wrists, against my temples. I can feel my skin flush with a desire that I’ve never before known. It’s something so fierce and instinctive that it rattles me to the core. Warning : Although this first book hints at sexual tension, future books in the series will be sexually explicit! I was absolutely fascinated by the characters and their intertwining relationships. The main character of Bindi displays such strength and responsibility. At the same time, she is just a young girl doing her best to deal with the life she has been handed and survive. Cage is bitter over his brother's death yet he still hasn't lost compassion for others. When Cage and Bindi meet for the first time you can feel the heat rise off the pages. I cannot wait to see where Ms. Simonenko and Ms. Rose takes us with this series!" -Tracy, Goodreads**Praise for Aubrey Rose:"I needed a story to get lost in and this was the perfect choice." - Hermosa Writer**"Aubrey Rose's new page turner is written with a wonderful tact that combines the best of traditional shifter romance fantasies with New Adult. There's a lot of emotionally intense moments and even a little angst. The power in Rose's intensely raw writing sharpens everything in this story. Julia and Damien stand with more realism, and when the steamy scenes come, they're like a summer storm: hot, bright, and maddeningly tense." -  Desuvius****Praise for Nadia Simonenko: "This is a dark, intense, and amazingly powerful read." - Emme Rollins, New York Times Bestselling Author, reviewing Found "Nadia is the queen of writing emotional books that make you feel every emotion imaginable. I can't get enough of her words." - Michelle at BookBriefs, reviewing Chasing WishesFrom the AuthorAubrey: This is my first time writing with a co-author, and it's been magnificent! Nadia is the coolest cat, and her writing is oh-so beautiful... it makes me a better writer. I'm so glad she decided to start writing shifters with me!! I really hope this series takes off, because I'm very excited to explore the stories of all of the characters in these books. OMG Kit! I want to write ten more books about her  journey...We already have the first two books written and the third one is underway, so don't worry, you won't have to wait long between installments! I like writing series as episodes, and I hope that you enjoy reading them that way. For those who prefer to wait until the series is complete, though, just sign up for our mailing list and we'll let you know when the last book is out! Thanks so much for reading! <3Nadia:  Shifting Fates started out as an experiment in collaborative writing and grew into an amazing, totally awesome project.  Aubrey is amazing to work with, and I'm very proud of this project.  I hope all of you love it!

Medicine Men

“A painful and hilarious send-up of grandiose doctors and their barbaric medical miracles. . . . A postmodern Jane Austen romp.” – The Boston GlobeIn a novel that brilliantly conjures up the resilience of the human spirit, Alice Adams draws a clear-eyed portrait of a woman who must overcome her resistance to the help offered by others.Molly Brenner suffers from guilt and headaches. The guilt arrives with the insurance money she receives after the accidental death of her second husband (she was on the verge of separating). And the headaches she at first thinks are just a neurotic manifestation, but when she is diagnosed with a malignancy, she finds herself  once again depending on a man, this time from a profession she loathes, the medical profession.  Amazon.com ReviewMolly Bonner has a problem. Horrible, debilitating headaches have sent her tumbling down a medical rabbit hole into a nightmarish world of hospitals, tests, and-- worst of all--unfeeling male doctors who all suffer in varying degrees from the delusion that they are God. Her specialist, her surgeon, her best friend's lover, and even her own boyfriend are cut from this same arrogant cloth. This raises the question early in Alice Adams's novel Medicine Men, why doesn't Molly just find a woman doctor and a new beau? In Medicine Men Alice Adams explores many issues surrounding the doctor- patient relationship: the dismissive condescension doctors often display toward patients, the unquestioning acceptance of authority patients often grant their doctors. When the patient is a woman and the doctor a man, there's an added patina of expectation on both sides--that the woman be docile, a "good patient," the man all-knowing, capable of solving all problems. These are fascinating subjects, but in making almost all the doctors male and unbearable and all the women passive and victimized, Adams is skating dangerously close to charicature rather than character. From Library JournalIn Adams's breezily written tenth novel, Molly Bonner is having some trouble: her marriage to a stiff, alcoholic New England lawyer has failed; her second husband has just died, leaving her filthy rich with insurance money but terribly guilty because they were about to separate anyway; and the nose bleeds she's been having turn out to result from a golf ball-sized tumor demanding immediate surgery. What's worse, Molly has too many rapacious, self-absorbed "medicine men" in her life, from Dave Jacobs, the domineering creep with whom her friend Felicia has set her up, to Felicia's own married paramour, the oh-so-smug Dr. Raleigh Sanderson. What could have been a nice comedy of manners fall terribly, terribly flat. Even those with grave doubts about doctors will be offended by their depiction here as hopelessly shallow and sleazy, and some readers may find Molly a little shallow herself. With all the slick mating and remating going on, very little time is spent on the consequences for Molly of a possibly fatal disease.
