Rise of the Isle of the Lost

*Ride with the tide! * Deep beneath the waves, King Triton’s powerful trident has passed through the magical barrier that surrounds the Isle of the Lost—keeping villains in and magic out. And when Mal’s longtime rival Uma, daughter of Ursula, gets wind of this, she can’t believe her luck. The tide has dragged in something good for a change, and Uma is determined to get her wicked hands on it. But first, she needs a pirate crew. A storm is brewing back in Auradon, and when Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay hear that the trident has been washed away, they realize they’ll have to find it before anyone from the Isle does. Luckily, they seem to have a talent for locating missing magical objects. As Uma readies for the high seas alongside Harry, son of Captain Hook, Gil, son of Gaston, and the toughest rogues on the Isle of the Lost, the reformed villains of Auradon devise their own master plan. And with King Ben away on royal business, they won’t have to play by all the rules. Using bad for good can’t be totally evil, right?

5 Short Stories

Last weekend I was looking through my computer. Over the years I've written short stories on whatever subject that interested me at the moment. Here is a sample for you to enjoy.Last weekend I was looking through my computer. Over the years I've written short stories on whatever subject that interested me at the moment. Here is a sample for you to enjoy. In the properties of each file I found the earliest date recorded on my present computer and listed it. I included it for your information only. I only did minor editing to clean up the stories. I only ask one thing. After you read these stories, please go to the end of the book and click on the link and let me know how you liked each story. A simple GOOD, BAD, TERRIBLE, QUIT POLLUTING THE INTERNET WITH E-BOOKS, or any other comment will let me know which type of stories you like. I don't aim to please, because I write for my enjoyment, whether you like them or not. However, I do listen and sometimes change my mind.Back before I knew about e-books I took a writing course online. One of the questions asked was my goal to get published. Because I knew that the publishing houses controlled writers, I replied that I wanted to collect a thousand rejection slips. The instructor praised me for my attitude because she said that many aspiring writers gave up after rejections by the print publication houses. I failed because I only collected seven before I discovered online publishing at Smashwords. No use banging my head against a brick wall where someones else's preconceived ideas limit my freedom of expression.

Family Feud

Not only are other's grass always greener, another's spouse is also often sexier. That's all I'll tell you. Click the blue below to see why. Here it suffices to say that the story is short and free. Why read a summary when with little more effort you can read the whole thing? If you can't spare a moment more, you shouldn't be wasting time reading fiction anyway. Go back to work!"One can not judge a book by its cover." So we are told. But a cover is usually the only thing a reader has to base a judgment on. Smashwords tries to aid readers by providing summaries, one short, one long, for each book it distributes. For non-fiction this works well. But this, it seems to me, defeats the whole purpose of fiction. After all, one reads a story to find out what will happen. It’s the uncommon twists and turns that make a story interesting. But if a summary has told all this beforehand, what fun is to be had in the reading? Therefore, no summary of the present short story is given. It's short and it’s free! So read the whole thing and see if you like it. I ask you to do this because I think it is the best book judging method. To find fiction you like you must first read around enough to learn something of the style and stories of different authors. Then you can judge books, not by their cover, but by the your opinion of the writer. I'd like to help you do this. The present short story is one of several which I will make available free at Smashwords. Read a few (or all of them) and decide if you like them. It won't cost you a dime. If you like them, you can then purchase some of my not free (but still inexpensive) longer stories. All these stories are of one particular kind. To reflect this similarity all have the same cover picture, the Kitty & Rose shown above. So after you’ve read a few, you can, in fact, judge them by their cover. The common theme of the Kitty & Rose stories is human sexuality. This is not unusual. Most fiction concerns sex in one way or another; ranging from romances so sedate and demure an extraterrestrial could never know sex is at the root of everything described, to erotica so unrestricted even an extraterrestrial might blush. Kitty & Rose stories are in the middle of this range. All deal with human sexuality, but none do so explicitly. Rather, they are seemly. The dictionary gives three meanings for seemly: Attractive or agreeably fashioned; Decorous or conventionally proper; and Appropriate or suited to its purpose. With respect to appropriateness, seemly sex stories range from the humorous to the inspirational, but all concern human sexuality. So they are clearly appropriate. These stories are also seemly in the decorous and conventionally proper sense. For, while they treat sex candidly, they do not do so graphically. There is nothing pornographic nor erotic in any seemly sex story. Of course, different persons’ opinions about this may differ. A few consider frank pornography decorous. At the opposite extreme are those like the abbot of the monastery where the great biologist Gregor Mendel did his epochal research. This abbot thought Mendel’s studies were decidedly indecorous because they involved the sex of pea plants! Finally, there is the principal sense of seemly, attractive and agreeably fashioned. Like every author I exert my every effort and ability trying to make these stories seemly in this regard. But like every author, I must await your determination of the degree of my success. Since both of us will be pleased if you find them attractively seemly, I very much hope you do.Happy reading!BobbyBP.S. This is free Kitty & Rose short story #11, uploaded 2-28-17.

Afterburn

1 New York Times bestselling author Sylvia Day, America's premier author of provocative fiction, delivers the debut novel from Cosmo Red-Hot Reads from Mills & Boon. The realization that Jax still affected me so strongly was a jagged pill to swallow. He’d only been part of my life for five short weeks two years ago. But now he was back. Walking into a deal I’d worked hard to close. And God, he was magnificent. His eyes were a brown so dark they were nearly black. Thickly lashed, they were relentless in their intensity. Had I really thought they were soft and warm? There was nothing soft about Jackson Rutledge. He was a hard and jaded man, cut from a ruthless cloth. In that moment I understood how badly I wanted to unravel the mystery of Jax. Bad enough that I didn’t mind how much it was going to cost me... Kill Them Wherever You Find Them

The Israeli spy agency, the Mossad, has uncovered actionable intelligence regarding an daring terror strike against the State of Israel and large Jewish population centers in major cities around the world."The Project," already in development for several years, will be Israel's response to this newest and most deadly of threats to its very existence.WARNING TO READERS:If you're anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, anti-Muslim, pro-terrorism, a bigot, pro-hate, anti-Mormon, expect sex scenes and vulgar language for "realism;" don't read this book, you won't enjoy it.But if you love great sci-fi/espionage books and are generous enough to overlook errors (the author is partly blind), you will enjoy this exciting story. Please note that in some instances the writing is altered to reflect how Russians today, and Civil War era American Southerners of the past actually speak. (For example: In the Russian language the indefinite articles "a," "an," and "the" do not exist.) This is to provide an extra measure of authenticity to the characters and story line. (While he speaks several languages, the author is a native English speaker with an extensive vocabulary and textbook grammar.)DESCRIPTION:The Israeli spy agency, the Mossad, has uncovered actionable intelligence detailing a daring and highly organized, well-funded, strike against the State of Israel and large Jewish population centers in major cities around the world. Terrorists have obtained, modified and weaponized two biological pathogens secreted from a Level Four Bio Research Lab outside Moscow.A former Special Ops scholar from the U.S. is recruited to work with "The Project," an ultra-secret program. It is anticipated that a drastic and last ditch response to the attacks, utilizing advances in technology, will thwart the terrorists from executing their plan of annihilation. Before exploiting this extraordinary scientific discovery it must first be field tested in as controlled an environment as possible with measurable, history altering results. A violent and racist family, with criminal roots dating back to the American Civil War, has been identified for the first phase. The objective: Eliminate the sociopath patriarch of this family and carefully measure the time-line 'ripple' effects that could adversely affect the current timeline. The American Operative, Jeff Stauffenburg, is sent to Civil War era Virginia where he is taken prisoner during a surprise Confederate raid to capture fleeing slaves and their sympatizers. Critically wounded during the raid, Jeff finds himself facing death from a leg wound that is going septic. Should he survive that he still faces the hangman's noose as a northern spy.Without the successful completion of this first critical phase, the second phase comes to a halt even as the terror leaders continue to strengthen their presence with sleeper cells inserted within Israel and strategic cities worldwide. Should they prevail the terrorists will succeed in wiping Israel off the face of the map, guaranteeing that no survivors of world Jewry will be able to rebuild their country. Millions will die in abject agony. In Los Angeles one of the bio-agents is released early, by accident, in an apartment building killing the residents within minutes of its dispersion. This crises brings in the full weight of the United States counter-terror units, FBI, CIA, and the Centers for Disease Control; even as a Mossad agent monitoring the the foot traffic and conversations of the 'safe house' of two known leaders of the terror network, learns that this accidental release half a world away has moved the scheduled strike date well ahead of schedule. The story interweaves the lives, hopes and differing perspectives of the main characters who are well defined, leaving you to feel toward some as you would a friend while pitying and perhaps loathing others. The thrilling conclusion leaves you hungering for the next two books as you become emotionally invested in the lives and unfolding stories of the people in the trilogy.A complete story in and of itself, the exciting book takes you through twists that are at times expected, sometimes completely unanticipated and surprising - even shocking. As a bonus the first several chapters of the second book in the "Pendulum of Time" are included at the end of you

Polly Churchill’s next assignment will be as a shopgirl in the middle of London’s Blitz. But now the time-travel lab is suddenly canceling assignments and switching around everyone’s schedules. And when Michael, Merope, and Polly finally get to World War II, things just get worse. For there they face air raids, blackouts, and dive-bombing Stukas—to say nothing of a growing feeling that not only their assignments but the war and history itself are spiraling out of control.
