Q - So, what makes the Lost Bookshop series special?
A - Probably that each adventure is so completely and utterly different. When I started working on the books I wanted to write a middle grade book series where the children would be able to go anywhere and do anything, I didn’t want to be limited to one type of story or setting like a lot of chapter books for kids are. I wanted it to be the the kind of book series that I would have wanted to read (and keep going back to as a grown up).
It’s just a group of friends drawn into impossible adventures with mysteries, magic and excitement bursting out of every page. There are some great halloween stories for kids out there and I hope this book stands shoulder to shoulder with them but in the following stories the children find themselves as cowboys and cowgirls, circus detectives… the possibilities are endless.
Q - What order should I read the books in?
A - I deliberately wrote the books so they can be read in any order and, because all the adventures are different, you can be certain you won’t miss anything if you read them out of sequence but if you want a proper answer I would say:

Q - Where did you get the idea for the Lost Bookshop?
A - From every second hand book shop I ever visited and every book I ever bought there!

A - Because the Lost Bookshop series is fast-paced, funny, thrilling and full of larger than life characters!
Q - Why did you decide to start writing kids books?
A - Well, my own daughter (the real Nina) was reading a lot of books. Some of them were great, some of them… not so much. In fact, some of the books aimed at girls are just the same boring princess and fairy stories rehashed again and again and I wanted to write something that was the opposite of that.
In the case of 'The Witch With the Glitch' I also wanted to have something special for her for All Hallow's Read!
