A Day in a Life in After World: Farsid

This is Sixth in a series of short stories based in the same world as the book series A Life in After World. Instead of telling the life story of one character, these stories tell the story of one day in the life of a person in After World.Farsid is on his way to the top and he does not care if he leaves brainless bodies trailed behind him as he goes. Farsid is a witch and uses his mental powers to exert his influence on people and sometimes even to scrape their brains for knowledge which generally leaves the victim with something akin to scrambled eggs afterward. His only problem is that he cannot concentrate to his full potential without a crutch. And his crutch has just been stolen.

It's up to Metcalf to change the course of history. He's done it before. For Metcalf, returning to Russia is also a personal mission that will stretch across three continents and fifty years into his past where the loyalties of a former love-a woman both impossibly beautiful and possibly treacherous-were tested; where the shadow of a Nazi assassin still haunts; a debauched German aristocrat manipulated the destiny of everyone he touched. Now, as past and present converge, Metcalf braces himself for a new trial of trust and betrayal, one with chilling implications that could threaten what remains of the free world.
