Flawless

Everyone goes to Finnegan's… It's a pub in lower Manhattan, run by the Finnegan family for generations and now owned by Kieran and her three brothers. Kieran Finnegan, who still works there whenever she can, has become a criminal psychologist—a fitting reaction, perhaps, to her less-than-lawful past. Meanwhile, New York's Diamond District has been hit by a rash of thefts. No one's been killed—until now. FBI agent Craig Frasier is brought in to investigate; he and Kieran meet at a jewelry store in the middle of a heist. She's there to "unsteal" a flawless stone taken by her light-fingered youngest brother as an act of vengeance. He's there to stop the gang. But the police and FBI soon discover that there are two gangs of diamond thieves, the original and a copycat group of killers. And the second group seems to think their scheme is as flawless as the stones they steal. Thrown together by circumstance, drawn together by attraction, Kieran and Craig both end up working on the case. Unfortunately, there's more and more evidence that, somehow, the pub is involved. Because everyone goes to Finnegan's…

Third Attempt

We all live in some types of illusions in our day to day life. Recently, I have developed an illusion that I can also write poems expressing my mind to the readers. My illusions have been reinforced by some ‘Wow’ comments made by some readers when some of the poems were posted on Face Book. Under the seize of that illusion I am publishing my ‘Third Attempt’.Sometimes telling a story in prose form is time consuming. Whenever I feel that, I try my hand in poetry. The Amy Virus

A 15-year-old girl on the autism spectrum discovers the truth about herself, and turns her life and her entire family upside down, when she develops a fixation on a teenage girl singer from the 1960s.Fifteen-year-old Cynthia Ann Butt has much bigger problems than her unfortunate name. At age 4, a year after she was diagnosed with autism, she was put on the Good Brain Diet, which her parents make a living marketing. The selling point of the diet is that Cynthia has achieved “remission” from her autism and is now on the straight and narrow path to medical school. But when she develops an autistic fixation on Amy Zander, an obscure teenage bossa nova singer and drummer from the 1960s, she begins to question whether her “remission” is real, discovers her own musicianship, and makes her first real friend--all under the “guidance” of Amy, who appears to her as a spectral version of Amy’s 15-year-old self. Soon Cynthia transforms herself from Cynthia Ann Butt, loser and failure, into Cyan Beaut, a daring and exciting percussionist, singer, and songwriter, who is happy and proud to be autistic and artistic. But if her transformation is successful, and the truth about her autism comes out, not only will her parents hate her for it, but her entire family will be at risk of financial ruin. The escalating conflict with her parents contributes to the “disease” process that finds her more and more under the spell of “Spectral Amy,” who leads her to places she never expected to go.
