The Second Civil War- The Complete History

Is the United States on the verge of a Second Civil War? Benjamin Franklin is supposed to have said that the government that the Framers gave to the american people was, “a republic, if you can keep it.” In “The Second Civil War” Adam Yoshida, the author of the “Third World War” trilogy, tells the terrifying tale of how the attempts of certain individuals to subvert the Constitution could lead to a Second Civil War. Here you will find progressives determined to push their personal agendas, no matter the cost to the liberties of the American people or the damage done to the republic. You will also find the story of those determined to resist them with motives both noble and ignoble. A vast world-spanning tale, “The Second Civil War” features battles across the entire globe from Iran to Arizona to the streets of New York City as various factions manoeuvre for supremacy. It looks into the sort of abyss that fanatical partisanship and wild ideological fantasies could create and asks whether or not we can truly be brought back from the edge.

One Hundred Poems, Volume I

What you get is a hundred short poems of varying lengths and topics. Most of which rhyme and all which are free for you to browse and read.A hundred days ago I set myself to a task of writing a single poem once a day and this is the result. A hundred short poems of varying length in the amount of lines and width in the number of words. There is no overall theme to this collection as each poem was written separately from the latter. Thus you can feel free to read them in whichever order you wish, and it should not affect the over all experience. But I suppose you are still curious of what you are about to leap into. Thus a brief summary of the poems would be; depression, love, popular culture, politics and regret. My personal favourite is the one called "Fishfingers" that also happens to be the shortest by my estimate. So go ahead and read.

The Getaway

"You," she told him, struggling for calm, "are worse than a menstruating woman."He stopped what he was doing and turned, very slowly, to look at her. "What did you just say?""You heard me," she hissed softly. "You snarl and snap and order us around as if we are a herd of cattle. You lie, you keep secrets, and you demand trust when you give none back. I have had it with your moodiness and your militant attitude, and if you do not have it in you to be a decent and respectful human being to me, you will be a decent and respectful human being to them, or so help me, I will make you regret ever laying eyes on us." He only stared at her, unmoved, his face that cold mask she was beginning to hate, and unable to help herself, Lucia reached out, gripped his t-shirt and gave him a good shake. For all the good it would do. "Do we understand each other, cabrón?" ◆◆◆Lucia Sanchez has stolen two children. Two children who...

It is fraught with excitement, confusion, curiosity, and willfulness. It is the beginning of learning the ancient knowledge that lies dormant in our child-minds, until we reach an age when it is time to unleash that power. The Creek is a completely analogous piece that focuses heavily on finding and nurturing that feminine aspect of dark, intuitive knowledge that is within every human being. It speaks to the part of us that wants to remain a child because we fear growing older. It speaks to the part of us that wants to see the beauty of life, but is overcome with the darkness of reality.

The Dead Play On

Play a song for me… Musicians are being murdered in New Orleans. But Arnie Watson apparently died by his own hand. When Tyler Anderson plays the saxophone he inherited from Arnie, a soldier and musician who died soon after his return, he believes he sees visions of his friend's life—and death. He becomes convinced Arnie was murdered and that the instrument had something to do with whatever happened, and with whatever's happening all over the city… Tyler knows his theory sounds crazy to the police, so he approaches Danni Cafferty, hoping she and Michael Quinn will find out what the cops couldn't. Or wouldn't. After all, Cafferty and Quinn have become famous for solving unusual crimes. They're partners in their personal lives, too. Quinn's a private investigator and Danni works with him. When they look into the case, they discover a secret lover of Arnie's and a history of jealousies and old hatreds that leads them back to the band Arnie once played with—and Tyler plays with now. They discover that sometimes, for some people, the line between passion and obsession is hard to draw. Only in uncovering the truth can they hope to save others—and themselves—from the deadly hands of a killer.
