From Out of the Dark

From Out of the Dark, Science Fiction and Horror meet in the space between galaxies. A collection of 10 short stories for 10 unique writers to entertain. From Out of the Dark is a not for profit publication featuring notable and new authors writing to the theme of Horror from the depths of space, or horror in the space between galaxies. Here you will read stories by the likes of Tony Shillitoe, Gene Stewart and Gregory L Norris, plus 7 other stories. The project was put together by Altair Australia Pty Ltd to get new works, often unseen works together for general reading. Some of these might not be world beaters or award winners, but these newer voices have developed well during the editing of the collection. The editor, Robert N Stephenson. has been publishing collections and small books since 1997 and while he enjoys the process, he loves to write more, so From Out of the Dark is a labor of love. Please note that all authors have been paid for their contributions.

Secondhand Souls

In San Francisco, the souls of the dead are mysteriously disappearing—and you know that can't be good—in New York Times bestselling author Christopher Moore's delightfully funny sequel to A Dirty Job. Something really strange is happening in the City by the Bay. People are dying, but their souls are not being collected. Someone—or something—is stealing them and no one knows where they are going, or why, but it has something to do with that big orange bridge. Death Merchant Charlie Asher is just as flummoxed as everyone else. He's trapped in the body of a fourteen-inch-tall "meat" waiting for his Buddhist nun girlfriend, Audrey, to find him a suitable new body to play host. To get to the bottom of this abomination, a motley crew of heroes will band together: the seven-foot-tall death merchant Minty Fresh; retired policeman turned bookseller Alphonse Rivera; the Emperor of San Francisco and his dogs, Bummer and Lazarus; and Lily, the former Goth girl. Now if only they can get little Sophie to stop babbling about the coming battle for the very soul of humankind...

A Long Weekend at Lake Agony

Young husband and wife, Randy and Amy, visit their favorite campsite for a long holiday weekend. Soon neighbors take the campsite next door and beautiful Amy catches their eye, especially that of their leader, Gideon. Gideon and Amy form a connection and when Randy's friends from work show up, an agonizing charade must be maintained.REVIEWI've become a big fan of Matthew Lee's niche of erotica, and "Long Weekend" is a good example of his work. Randy and Amy are a happy couple who are spending a long weekend camping. The campers next door are a group of bikers who include Gideon, a hyper-masculine guy. Amy eventually finds herself with Gideon--not so much with Randy's approval, but not without it either--and eventually Randy recognizes that Amy wants this affair and he wants it for her. This is Lee's special brand of erotica--a couple exploring new arrangements with the husband conflicted but accepting, even as events push prove more challenging. "Long Weekend" does indeed push Randy's boundaries... and those boundaries keep slipping further and further back. The epilogue is a common fantasy in cuckold literature, but Lee keeps it fresh and exciting. As is the whole book. This is a fast-paced read, with lots of erotic situations and passionate sex.
