I wasn't looking for fame and fortune, just hanging out with my girl and having a good time. Like going to the Grand opening of the National Air and Space Museum with my Dad, the US senator and Felice, the President's daughter. Like going to the Grand Opening of the National Air and Space Museum before anyone else did. Of course, the Secret Service dudes were a pain but I was used to them, my Dad being a US Senator. Oh yeah, there was a pair on Licce, my girl. She's the President's daughter. Not that it wasn't cool. What was really cool---I can go inside your pet's head, see what they see, hear what they hear. No, I don't look in on Licce when she's wearing those short pink PJs in her White House bedroom. Trouble was, someone found out and now they want me. Someone in the government. So, I ran. Didn't et far and now, I'm really in trouble--- Views: 348

I was on the aisle seat, and most of the windows were closed. I tried to take a glimpse of the ground. I couldn’t. The landing was terrible. It seemed as if the runway was full of potholes. Almost all the passengers started abusing words towards the airline and the pilots. It seemed some trainee pilot was landing the plane for the first time in his life, and that too without any guidance. We could never imagine that the runway would be rough. When the flight finally stopped, it seemed as if the runway suddenly came to an end and the pilot had to apply sudden break. The runway was utterly dark. There was no light from the sky also. I tried to figure out. I thought, maybe the flight has entered inside a shade immediately after landing as I could figure out there was something like a roof. Why the aircraft landed in an unknown place? Is it an act of terrorists? If so, where are they? Why can’t all the hi-tech surveillances systems detect the aircraft which has already landed somewhere on planet earth? Views: 348

The Homeric Hymns have survived for two and a half millennia because of their captivating stories, beautiful language, and religious significance. Well before the advent of writing in Greece, they were performed by traveling bards at religious events, competitions, banquets, and festivals. These thirty-four poems invoking and celebrating the gods of ancient Greece raise questions that humanity still struggles with—questions about our place among others and in the world.Known as "Homeric" because they were composed in the same meter, dialect, and style as Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, these hymns were created to be sung aloud. In this superb translation by Diane J. Rayor, which deftly combines accuracy and poetry, the ancient music of the hymns comes alive for the modern reader. Here is the birth of Apollo, god of prophecy, healing, and music and founder of Delphi, the most famous oracular shrine in ancient Greece. Here is Zeus, inflicting upon... Views: 348
Connor's terrifying vision of the future comes to pass as Abiku breaks through into the real world. Then he smelled it!The familiar rotten odour like long discarded takeaway trays wafted up his nostrils. The stench of disease and decay stung the back of his nose and he froze. Connor didn’t dare to move as he recognised the tell-tale pressure in his head for what it signified. There was no mistaking it; something had come through from the other world. Connor eased his right hand up, still under the covers so as not to alert whatever it was that he was awake. Then he heard the words he had dreaded for the last eighteen months:“I’ve been looking for you, Connor True”. Views: 348
