The Dream Inside the Darkness.

As Jessie prepares to graduate and move forward with a degree in Paranormal Psychology, his haunting past rears its ugly head and weaves him through the web of time until he must question absolutely everything about his current reality."Where am I?" said Jessie. "Botany, Mrs. Turner's class. Does it ring a bell? Light your bulb?" asked Jude. Whatever happened I must have hit my head really hard, Jessie thought. Laying his head on his desk, he tried to remember what he had been doing last, searching for something, the answer to the riddle. He looked down at his desk to see if he could find any clues. There was a botany book on top of the tan colored desk, a pencil, a white sheet of paper containing past notes on the flowers. Mrs. Turner was going on about finals as well as extra credit. Ah! That's right! Jude and I had done a project together on the symbolism of flowers, but why would that be important?Jude interrupted Jessie's concentration. "I thought you said you were going to the lake this weekend? Your grandfather always said we could have the graduation party there." "This weekend," Jessie stammered. “What day is it?" "Monday. Don’t you remember anything from the past twenty-four hours? It's our finals week. Everyone is graduating. You said you'd go check the place out, make sure it's ready. How long has it been since your grandfather has been gone, Jess? Two years now?" Jess sighed, finally remembering the deal he’d made. Jess was going to see what was going on, if the house needed a bit of tidying up before having friends there. It seemed like he was in a time warp. How did he get back from the mansion to his botany class?

The Great Mother

The world was stopped cold by an invisible killer. As far as she knows, everyone else is dead. And yet, something makes her feet move forward, something inside makes her eat, something keeps her going until all at once, she learns that she is not alone. Once she wakes up from the numbness and haze, she opens her eyes as a new woman in a new world that needs her.A silent killer stole everyone she knew and loved. Where there were once people, she only saw ghosts. Where cars used to travel, only leaves moved across the barren roads. There were no planes overhead, no messages to hear on her voice mail, no signs of life anywhere. She wandered in a numb haze through the terrifyingly still world, until suddenly there was a sound. A call. One voice that woke her up and made her realize that she wasn't alone. And in that moment, she decided to live. This is a story of loss and pain, of struggle and triumph. This is a story about picking up the pieces when everything falls apart, and finding unlikely heroes in the darkest hour. It is a story of the thrill of success after shattering defeat. It is a story of love, of anger, of laughter and tears. It is a story of life. And all life begins with a mother.

Reggie

The Final Cut. James Logan wants to save the world but can't. General John Cygan wants to burn it and can. Two friends are thrown onto the opposite sides of a war until brilliant scientist Abe Priest finds a way to end the zombie outbreak once and for all."I think I've figured it out Logan. I think I know what it is.” ... “I asked myself the questions that everyone else is afraid to ask. Just like you told me to. I asked myself: how do you kill that which is already dead? Then I started looking at it like a cold mathematical equation. We got it wrong. We have been fighting the zombies using attrition warfare this whole time. We've been trying to kill them all. But you can’t add death to death and balance an equation. To kill something alive you must minus life. To cancel out death from the other side of the equation you must plus life. Death plus death, I guess, equals more death and imbalance. The equation reversed is “death plus life” and that returns the world to balance. To zero.” Doctor Abraham Priest and General James Logan have what it takes to save the world from the gaping jaws of defeat. But rogue US Air Force General John Cygan would sooner watch it burn than see it fall to the dead. Logan and Abe partner themselves with tough as nails inner city cop, Elizabeth Jones, and army pilot "Jack" as they fight against the clock to save the world. Served with lashings of gore, Reggie takes the genre to somewhere it has seldom been before. Its end.

The Black-Eyed Blonde

Raymond Chandler’s incomparable private eye is back, pulled by a seductive young heiress into the most difficult and dangerous case of his career“It was one of those summer Tuesday afternoons when you begin to wonder if the earth has stopped revolving. The telephone on my desk had the look of something that knows it’s being watched. Traffic trickled by in the street below, and there were a few pedestrians, too, men in hats going nowhere.”So begins The Black-Eyed Blonde, a new novel featuring Philip Marlowe—yes, that Philip Marlowe. Channeling Raymond Chandler, Benjamin Black has brought Marlowe back to life for a new adventure on the mean streets of Bay City, California. It is the early 1950s, Marlowe is as restless and lonely as ever, and business is a little slow. Then a new client is shown in: young, beautiful, and expensively dressed, she wants Marlowe to find her former lover, a man named Nico Peterson. Marlowe sets off on his search, but almost immediately discovers that Peterson’s disappearance is merely the first in a series of bewildering events. Soon he is tangling with one of Bay City’s richest families and developing a singular appreciation for how far they will go to protect their fortune.Only Benjamin Black, a modern master of the genre, could write a new Philip Marlowe novel that has all the panache and charm of the originals while delivering a story that is as sharp and fresh as today’s best crime fiction.**
