The Short: Dirty Little Freaks is the story of Jade Daniels, a tough girl full of secret dreams and desires who learns that sometimes the biggest walls need to be torn down in order to build something beautiful from the ruins. A punk rock story about lust, love, and all the naughty bits in between. The Long: Meet Jade Daniels, she hates her name, hates her life and hates people in general. But Jade learned long ago that nothing but misery lasts forever, and happiness is fleeting at best. Or is it? The Warning: ***Rated 18+ Please understand that this book is full of swearing and sex and drugs. I don’t control what my characters do or think, so don’t shoot me off a bunch of angry emails because you got fired for reading it at work, or God is going to smite you for laughing, or you caught your husband jerking it to the sex scenes. This is also a work of fiction. Seriously, dude. If you feel compelled to have casual, unprotected sex or shove coke up your ass because you read about it somewhere, frealz, you need help. Unprotected sex often leads to gross diseases and even worse, babies. And yeah, drugs are bad…mmkay? So, I guess that about covers it The Reviews: "ZOMG I want to have a million of Hush's babiez............" -said no reviewer, ever. If you've heard good things about this and it seems like the kind of story you will love, buy it! Otherwise, just skip right to the one and two star reviews and chuckle at them tearing the book apart, I know I do. Then I usually buy the book anyways..." -Jaden Wilkes, Big Headed Author Extraordinaire About the AuthorJaden is the pen name of a girl living on the prettiest farm in BC. The Lobster Kings

The follow-up to Touch, New Face of Fiction Alexi Zentner's immaculately reviewed debut, The Lobster Kings is as entertaining a summer read for fans of Pat Conroy as it is a literary read for fans of John Irving. There is no sophomore slump here: Zentner has delivered a follow-up that is just as literary as Touch, but even more commercial, with more action, and more romance. The Lobster Kings takes place on fictional Loosewood Island, somewhere off Maine and the Maritimes, and a ruggedly pastoral outpost claimed by both the United States and Canada. For generations it has been unofficially ruled by a family called the Kings, since the legendary Brumfitt Kings came over from Ireland with the bountiful lobsters "making a road with their backs." But modern times bring modern problems, and the waters off Loosewood Island are starting to be poached by James Harbor, a rival community. With the health of current patriarch Woody Kings fading,...

The Garden

The Garden is a fictionalised account of Carl Linnaeus's life. This leading figure of the Swedish Enlightenment, famous for his classification of animals and plants which is still used in modern biology, perceives things through his desire to categorise and therefore in relation to other things. His gardener perceives things for what they are in themselves – and for their beauty or usefulness. They often find themselves in dialogue, but rarely understand each other. We observe Linnaeus alone in thought, or teaching and conversing with his students, or tending to his poorly siblings. Florin draws us into these impressionistic fragments with brave, colourful prose. The Garden blossoms into a work of imagination and intrigue, unafraid to question the shape of our world and the roots of existence. This curious, ambitious novel is the first English translation of Magnus Florin's work; it became a best-seller in his native Sweden.

Common Ground

The national bestseller Justin Trudeau has spent his life in the public eye. From the moment he was born, the first son of an iconic prime minister and his young wife, Canadians have witnessed the highs and the lows, sharing in his successes and mourning with him during tragic times. But few beyond Justin's closest circle have heard his side of his unique journey. Now, in Common Ground, Justin Trudeau reveals how the events of his life have influenced him and formed the ideals that drive him today. He explores, with candour and empathy, the difficulties of his parents' marriage and the effect it had on a small boy and the close relationship with a father whose exacting standards were second only to his love for his sons. He explores his political coming of age during the tumultuous years of the Charlottetown Accord and the Quebec Referendum, and reflects on his time as a teacher, which was interrupted by the devastating losses of his brother and father....
