Bound to the Fallen (Prophecy #2)

Within all legends, within all myths, lies a glimmer of truth. . . Since the beginning of time there have been stories of demons and tales of darkness; creatures that stalk our dreams. Beings we pray in reality will never touch us. It is easily forgotten that evil can be veiled by breathtaking beauty. After all, few things in this world are truly as they seem. Brooke Davis was well aware that people can pretend to be someone they are not. She'd had several life experiences that had taught her that. When she met Gavin Hunter she thought she knew exactly what kind of man he was - but she couldn't have been more mistaken in her assumption. Gavin Hunter was successful, dominant, and had an innate weakness for women. A weakness that, if not controlled, could lead to a dangerous attraction. To make certain that he remained in control he never pursued an innocent mortal — until Brooke. The temptation she posed was a sin he could not deny, a pleasure he wanted to own. His desire for Brooke possessed him. Brooke and Gavin quickly became entangled within a passionate love founded on deception. Not even the darkness could keep his secrets hidden forever, for it was only a matter of time before Gavin’s past would try to tear their love apart. Prophecies can rarely be changed, fate seldom turns, and Brooke would soon find herself clinging to sins most would run from. There was no escape. She had been bound the moment that he fell. Due to language and sexual content this book is intended for mature audiences.About the AuthorOh, what to say? I love writing (obvious since I'm on here, right?) Writing is like therapy. There is nothing else that I can lose myself in the way I can a book - the way a well written story can take you away from reality and leave you in a dazed state once you've finished... that is unbelievable. I can only hope that whoever reads my work will be sucked into the little world I've created on the pages. Aside from writing, I love sloths and mythology. I kind of have a thing for vampires, because let's face it, something about the fact that they have to fight the urge to bite your neck and drain the life from you is rather sexy. I have an irrational fear of the zombie apocalypse. I honestly cannot imagine a more horrifying way to go than by being ripped to shreds by a mass of mumbling, decaying, and oozing corpses with clicking teeth. Ugh! I just shuddered typing it. Now the boring basics: I grew up in the south listening to a ton of grunge rock (I'm sure if you read my books you'll be able to guess who my favorite bands are). I wanted to major in theatre and creative writing but my parents refused to let me. They told me those weren't "reliable professions". Reliable? I'd just rather do something I enjoy! When I hit 30 I decided to start a bucket list and publishing a book was on the top (followed shortly by meeting a certain celebrity). Proud to report I've accomplished both. So, here I am with my first novel and working on the second one. The journey of writing Bound to the Fallen has been amazing and allowed me to meet many wonderful individuals. I hope if you read my work that you will enjoy it. After all, writing is the most amazing magic trick of all... it puts the reader in the mind of the writer (kind of creepy if you think about it). I hope you love my little world as much as I do.

I Only Know Who I Am When I Am Somebody Else

RetailBeloved stage and screen actor Danny Aiello’s big-hearted memoir reveals a man of passion, integrity, and guts—and lays bare one of the most unlikely success stories ever told. Danny Aiello admits that he backed into his acting career by mistake. That’s easy to see when you begin at the beginning: Raised by his loving and fiercely resilient mother in the tenements of Manhattan and the South Bronx, and forever haunted by the death of his infant brother, Danny struggled early on to define who he was and who he could be. Shoeshine boy, numbers runner, and pool hustler were among the first identities he tried on. After getting into trouble on the streets, he enlisted in the army at seventeen, served in Germany, and was honorably discharged. Later, as an unemployed high school dropout raising a family of his own, Danny was burdened with serious depression by the time he landed a job as a bouncer at a Hell’s Kitchen comedy club. Taking to the stage in the wee hours to belt out standards, Danny Aiello found his voice and his purpose: He was born to act. Performing in converted churches and touring companies led to supporting roles in such films as The Godfather: Part II and Moonstruck, and an Oscar nomination for his role as the embattled Salvatore in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing. For a guy who had never set foot in an acting class, this was supreme validation for being an outsider who followed his heart. In a raw and real chronicle of his gritty urban past, Danny Aiello looks back with appreciation, amusement, and frank disbelief at his unconventional road to success. He offers candid observations on working with luminary directors Francis Ford Coppola, Woody Allen, and Robert Altman, among others, and a vast roster of actors, including Robert De Niro, Paul Newman, Madonna, Cher, and Lauren Bacall. He opens up about friends he loved, friends he lost, and the professional relationships that weren’t meant to be. Above all, Danny Aiello imparts a life lesson straight out of his own experience to anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider: It’s never too late to become who you want to be, to find happiness and fulfillment, and to embrace the winding road to get there.**

Mademoiselle

Certain lives are at once so exceptional, and yet so in step with their historical moments, that they illuminate cultural forces far beyond the scope of a single person. Such is the case with Coco Chanel, whose life offers one of the most fascinating tales of the twentieth century--throwing into dramatic relief an era of war, fashion, ardent nationalism, and earth-shaking change--here brilliantly treated, for the first time, with wide-ranging and incisive historical scrutiny. Coco Chanel transformed forever the way women dressed. Her influence remains so pervasive that to this day we can see her afterimage a dozen times while just walking down a single street: in all the little black dresses, flat shoes, costume jewelry, cardigan sweaters, and tortoiseshell eyeglasses on women of every age and background. A bottle of Chanel No. 5 perfume is sold every three seconds. Arguably, no other individual has had a deeper impact on the visual aesthetic of the world. But how did a...
