Unexpected

It’s funny how the smallest details can get you into a world of trouble.  For Dinah Jacobs, it was a small cat.  No problem, she didn’t fear stray cats, especially not as beautiful as the Siamese that was always waiting for her when she got home.  She fed her, gave her a name, and even bought her a flea collar.  That is where things went terribly wrong.   The darn cat dashes into her mysterious neighbors home as she was trying to get the collar around his neck.  Trying to get the Siamese out of the neighbor’s house, she discovers the cat mislead her.  It wasn’t a stray.  It belonged to the very dark, very brooding, very handsome next door neighbor.  Galien was more than what he appeared at first glance, but did she want to stick around to find out what made him so unique? Galien wasn’t going to give her a choice.  She broke into his home, she was about to find out what happens when vampires get unexpected guests.

Fluency

NASA discovered the alien ship lurking in the asteroid belt in the 1960s. They kept the Target under intense surveillance for decades, letting the public believe they were exploring the solar system, while they worked feverishly to refine the technology needed to reach it. The ship itself remained silent, drifting. Dr. Jane Holloway is content documenting nearly-extinct languages and had never contemplated becoming an astronaut. But when NASA recruits her to join a team of military scientists for an expedition to the Target, it’s an adventure she can’t refuse. The ship isn’t vacant, as they presumed. A disembodied voice rumbles inside Jane’s head, "You are home." Jane fights the growing doubts of her colleagues as she attempts to decipher what the alien wants from her. As the derelict ship devolves into chaos and the crew gets cut off from their escape route, Jane must decide if she can trust the alien’s help to survive. **Review "Just read FLUENCY by Jennifer Foehner Wells and loved it. Wonderful space opera. Looking forward to the next book." (Nalini Singh, NYT & USA Today bestselling author) "Okay, I am loving, loving, loving "Fluency" by @Jenthulhu. This sci-fi novel is flat out AMAZING. READ IT." (Brianna Wu, independent video game developer and cofounder of Giant Spacekat) "Jennifer Foehner Wells' highly recommended Fluency is a phenomenal story of first contact!" (Jason Weisberger, publisher of BoingBoing.net) "Author Jennifer Wells' writing genius comes from her vast knowledge of the highly technical subject matter and her ability to put the reader in the middle of it without losing him/her in technical jargon while creating characters that seem completely natural and believable." (Jean Fisher for Independent Publisher News) "FLUENCY is a great read for sci-fi fans and general readers alike. A smart concept, natural dialog and great character development make this a page-turner." (IndieReader)  "Reading Fluency is like discovering a new band in some tiny bar and knowing they are going to be huge. Fluency beautifully straddles that perilous line of giving the reader just enough technical information to be very believable, but not enough to bog anyone down." (Travis Mohrman, author of Down The Path) "With her first novel, Jennifer Wells adds a fresh voice to the sci-fi genre and distinguishes herself as an author to watch." (Theresa Kay, author of Broken Skies) "From out of the darkness like a shooting star comes 'Fluency,' a tremendous debut novel by Jennifer Foehner Wells. This is an author who is certain to blaze a bold trail." (Patrice Fitzgerald, bestselling author of Karma of the Silo) About the Author FLUENCY, Jennifer Foehner Wells' debut novel, rocketed up the charts, pushing her into bestselling author status in less than two months. It became a KDP Select All-Star in August of 2014, as the 3rd most frequently downloaded book in Kindle Unlimited that month. Fluency has been featured on boingboing.net and won the Gold in the Fantasy/Science Fiction category of the 2015 eLit awards. Jen lives an alternately chaotic and fairly bucolic existence in Indiana with two boisterous little boys, a supportive husband, a mildly unhinged Labrador retriever, and three chubby rambunctious cats as housemates. Having studied biology, Jen's possessed with a keen interest in science and technology. She's 100% geek and proud of it.
