I’m not a philosophical kind of bloke, but I know something about luck. A childhood on the wrong side of advantage will teach you that. It’s all a matter of chance. It’s both your circumstances and the chances you take. So I've always been a gambler and a ladies man—they love me and I love them. Now I've found one like no other—an American, Allison Wright. When I met her, the fates were on my side, but too soon I learned the odds were against me. Views: 42
In 2005, after working for ten years in a comfortable but mundane corporate job in San Antonio, Texas, Vincent Sellers successfully managed to leave behind a dreary cubicle landscape and begin the exciting challenges of a crime-fighting FBI agent. His journey is chronicled in Eyes Pried Open: Rookie FBI Agent. Readers will experience both the highs and the lows of an FBI agent working bank robbery, kidnapping, murder-for-hire cases, and border-related crimes in San Diego, California. The book's from-the-heart narrative demonstrates that the typical lifestyle of an FBI agent assigned to a violent crime squad may not be for everyone. This is the first book to be written from the fresh perspective of an agent who joined the FBI after 9/11.**From the AuthorThank you for your interest in my book. The reason I wrote the book was to paint a portrait, with warts and all, of my experience of becoming an FBI agent. I was (and am) just a normal IT guy that deals with emails and spreadsheets all day. But I did succeed in breaking away into a life of crime-fighting, and I simply wanted to document that incredible journey for friends, family, and anyone who is or has contemplated becoming an agent. Working for the FBI was a dream of mine since high school, and I was honored and thrilled to make it in. My experience at the FBI Academy was enlightening, and is documented in detail (with many of those details being painful). If you are looking for more information on what it "really" is like to go through the FBI Academy, you will gain an insider's perspective with this book. Life as a violent crime-fighting FBI agent is also revealed in full. The thrill of handcuffing and arresting a person, especially for someone with an ordinary "corporate" background, is hard to top. But the lifestyle and repetition of working reactively trying to combat crime that is never-ending is also portrayed; this lifestyle is not for everyone over the long haul, including me. If you are applying to be an agent, I wish you the best of luck with that endeavor. This book will give you an idea of how to navigate that process and what to expect life to be like as an agent. But if you decide not to go down the road less traveled, know that we all contribute to society and can make the world a better place; just do something that allows you to live a fulfilling and happy life, and make the most of every day.I recently created a YouTube series where I discuss in detail each step of the process of becoming an FBI agent; I cover everything that I wish I would have known when I personally went through the process:Episode #1: youtube.com/watch?v=cmzeac3EmMIEpisode #2: youtube.com/watch?v=P6nUZ6w9-K0Episode #3: youtube.com/watch?v=97x6ZulqDigEpisode #4: youtube.com/watch?v=Wi8Kx5PENvsEpisode #5: youtube.com/watch?v=4pV9rKbcS1UEpisode #6: youtube.com/watch?v=eBUbDCC9rNcFor additional information about me or to contact me, be sure to visit my website, vincentsellers.com. Again, I sincerely appreciate your interest in my book and I hope you enjoy reading it. Vince "Shea" Sellers

"Erich boldly continues to challenge our understanding of history." —Philip Coppens, author, The Ancient Alien QuestionWe live in an age of information. But there are things in our prehistory "about which we do not have the faintest idea," writes best-selling author Erich von Däniken in his gripping new book, Remnants of the Gods. Stone structures erected by master builders, mysterious underground complexes, geometrically aligned stone circles, the breathtaking pyramids of Egypt—who built them? And, perhaps more importantly, where did these builders obtain such incredible knowledge?Erich von Däniken shows in detail how whole countries were surveyed thousands of years ago. Hundreds of Stone Age holy places are located at equal distances from one another, forming giant squares and triangles. How was all of this possible? Classic archaeology provides no answers to these questions. Worse still, it doesn't even appear to be interested. Are we all threatening... Views: 42

Annja Creed, archaeologist and host of television’s Chasing History’s Monsters, is in the U.K. when her mentor, Roux, interrupts her sojourn with news of the thefts.
