Uncharted

Tracey Garvis Graves - and Anna and T.J. - return in this companion novella to the New York Times bestseller On the Island. When twenty-three-year-old dot-com millionaire Owen Sparks walked away from his charmed life, he had one goal in mind: get as far away as possible from the people who resented his success, or had their hand out for a piece of it. A remote uncharted island halfway around the world seemed like a perfectly logical place to get away from it all. Calia Reed wasn't part of Owen's plans. The beautiful British girl - on holiday in the Maldives with her brother, James - made Owen wonder if getting away from it all might be a lot more enjoyable with a carefree girl who didn't know anything about the life he left behind. But Owen had no idea how much his carefully detailed plans would go awry. Nor did he realize that a decision he made would have such a catastrophic effect on two passengers who boarded a plane in Chicago. And when Owen shows up at Anna and T.J.'s door with an incredible story to tell, everyone involved will learn just how much their lives are intertwined. Uncharted includes an early look at Covet, coming September 2013.

Night of the Nyctalope

Night of the Nyctalope is a collection of 17 stories featuring Leo Saint-Clair, France's premier pulp superhero from the 1920s and 1930s. The title piece is a translation of a rare original tale published in 1944 by the character's creator, Jean de La Hire, in which Leo saves a young woman from the clutches of an evil sorcerer in Occupied Paris. Sixteen other stories, all written especially for this volume, offer more exciting adventures spanning over a century, from Leo's first exploits against dark mystic powers in 1900 Paris, his adventures as an explorer in darkest Africa before WWI, his secret missions on Earth and on Mars during the Great War, his encounter with Dracula before the Fall of Berlin, to his very recent visit at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.

Antioch

"Armageddon is arrived." Threatened by an unnatural plague that raises the dead, an ancient order of mystics must choose between keeping its secrets and saving humanity.Kind of like Star Wars with zombies."This is a great fantasy adventure novel with plenty of sword fighting and monsters (zombies), but the heart of the book is its characters, complex story and clean, imaginative prose. From the pious yet conflicted paladin Michael to the loudmouthed but lovable sailor Ditch, the characters in Antioch are multifaceted and unique. There are no stereotypes within these pages, yet through the use of humor and seamless dialog, the characters are relatable and believable. This is a rarity in books even by many seasoned authors. The story begins with slaughter and mystery, then turns to small-town life under the shadow of fear as the citizens of Antioch prepare for Armageddon. Still, questions about the origin and nature of the plague remain and the eventual discovery of the answers is as exciting as the final showdown with death. My only complaint is that the story is left unfinished, and like everyone else who reads Antioch, I have to wait for the rest of the series to discover the final fate of my favorite characters and the answers to all my questions. The writing in Antioch is clear and precise. I can testify that the author agonized over every word, and it shows in the careful phrasing and brilliant imagery of the story. This, in my opinion, is the mark of a not just a great book, but a great writer.Highly recommended for any fantasy fan."Carolyn Harlan, Editor.

Serene

There are many options to end the World, but it’s always someone; someplace far away who will. Someone who we can't control; it will be these distant people who will set the stage for Armageddon: but suppose it wasn’t, but instead that each one of us was given a choice in our own destruction; if each one of us inadvertently, and individually set the stage for total World annihilation. There are many options to end the World, but it’s always someone; someplace far away who will. Someone who we as individuals can't control; it will be these distant people who will set the stage for Armageddon. In our powerlessness situation the greatest fear is that it will be us who are the cannon fodder or victims: but suppose it wasn’t; but instead that each one of us was given a choice in our own destruction; if each one of us inadvertently, and individually set the stage for total World annihilation.
