Xavier Hawken's Short Story Collection

Stories that I have been working on for awhile now and will eventually become novels.Alyssa's Perspective -There were four of us; we were the best of friends. We made a pact—we would be there to hold each other up. Always. We cared so much for each other, yet we made so many mistakes. We broke each other’s hearts and our promises. We nearly lost everything. We loved and our hearts longed, longed for what we had and let slip away; for what we hoped we’d find just once, love. Our hurt, heartbreak and tragedies led our hearts down separate roads.Had we drifted too far to ever find our way back? Did we shatter like glass when the burden of life’s trials weighed heavily down upon our shaky shoulders? Did we let the pain within our hearts tarnish and overcome the possibility of finding love again? No. We didn’t. We remembered. Remembered what a very long time ago mattered the most: each other. We found our way—home.Book Summary:Tragedy hits the humble and loving little community of Oakland Oklahoma and with the quick, heart-gripping blow, lives are shattered and spirits are left broken.Families are left feeling lost. Childhood friends are abandoned and forgotten. But love remains, clinging to the hearts of those who’ve all unintentionally lost their way.Through the struggles of lifelong regrets, unthinkable deceit, broken promises and grief, family, friends and long lost lovers will attempt to mend the pieces of their lives back together again.Their journey for wholeness and a second chance can lead them back to the place where it all began; a place each of them once called their home. But if the trails prove too tough and the wiping wind of life’s storm is too strong, they all could very easily lose everything—including each other.

Towards Sunset (third edition)

A collection of 30 stories, varying in length, on a wide variety of subjects, mostly with a gently humorous tone.A collection of 30 short stories, including a dozen entries in the "Telegraph" competition of 2012 on varied themes and others previously published in "Pebbles on a Northern Shore"; one group on an eccentric rural community; another on a professional assassin with a conscience; dreams and fancies; a penalty of misplaced confidence; the odd bit of science fiction (definitely not of the "space western" type); a portrait linking mediaeval and modern romances; the friendship between an 18th-century aristocrat and his executioner; and the long-delayed fulfilment of a youthful crush.

Kemamonit Returns

Kemamonit must travel deep into the ancient past in order to confront a powerful sorceress.A Breath of Fiction is a unique collection, since each of the 200 stories contained in the volume is made up of exactly 200 words. The stories range in mood from serious to enigmatic to poignant to silly. Some stories closely examine ordinary moments that might easily be overlooked in the course of a day or a lifetime. Other stories open a window to the fantastic and to the impossible. But all of the stories are concerned with what it means to experience life. The beauty of these very short stories, grouped into twelve different thematic categories, is that a reader may choose to read as much or as little as they choose at a time. Since these stories were originally posted online (on the blog also titled A Breath of Fiction), they are meant to be accessible for a brief moment of reading, or for a complete immersion in the variety of stories and experiences presented in these pages.

Conversations

There are so many good, decent, liberal minded people in this country and the world, who are working hard for real change. This book is not meant for them. It is writen for the brain-dead, flag-waving morons who, through their naivete and ignorance, support and enable Fascist governments, their corporate masters, and the gun-toting lackeys that do their dirty work. Wake up!With the help of a bounty hunter, Tenet Bradwin, son of the Exalted Leader, lived though his High Summer escape through the burning sands of Southland and ended up in the oasis of a rough border town. Instead of being the end of his journey, though, Tenet quickly learns that it was really only the beginning. His government is still after him, his family is leading the charge, and the only hope he has at any kind of life rests in the deep, unknown wilds of the Borderlands. The challenges are many: unforgiving mountains, brutal weather, and a bounty hunter dogging his every move, not to mention a wife who never really wanted to be a wife, a father that haunts his dreams, and the heavy burden of guilt for his actions. And that is just what Tenet faces getting to the border, before he has to try and sell his new identity to a harsh nation that can not afford to take risks. Follow Tenet and Scarab as they try to forget the past and embrace the new challenges of life in a foreign land in this second book of the Tenet Series.
