Amy graduated as a Gold Award Girl Scout, as President of her school's chapter of the NHS, and received the Flag Award for citizenship. After graduating High School, Amy enrolled in the Savannah College of Art and Design. Amy earned her BFA in Performing Arts. She starred in Sharon Ott's 2008 production of Oliver Twist as the title role. During this time, she also took advantage of her electives, studying writing, Shakespeare and World Mythology. It was here that she met her future husband, Kyle Strickland. In the summer of 2008, BFA in-hand, Amy returned to Townsend, MA to plan her wedding. She began writing her first novel while working retail and doing freelance web design work. On April 24, 2010, Amy married and became Amy Leigh Strickland. Days after returning from her honeymoon, Amy packed up and moved to Alabama. Amy's first published novel, Olympia Heights: The Pantheon, was released in July of 2011. Its sequel, Olympia Heights: The Weight of the World, followed in June 2012. Amy currently teaches preschool and attends the University of Montevallo, studying for her Masters in Secondary Education, English LA.
