Dance With Me

Ed Maurer’s life would be fine if he could just get Laurie Parker off his back. He’s bounced back, more or less, from the neck injury that permanently benched his semi-pro football career, and he volunteers now at a local community center. It’s just that every time he turns around, that damn professional dancer is in his way, hating Ed right back. But when a bargain Ed strikes at the center lands him as an assistant in Laurie’s ballroom dancing class, their perceptions of each other turn upside down. Both Ed and Laurie have heartbreak in their pasts, but somehow dancing together eases their individual pain. For Ed, dancing with Laurie becomes a way to reconnect with his body after losing football. For Laurie, partnering with Ed has erased some of his fear of performing and brought back joy to a sport he wasn’t sure he could ever truly love again. As Laurie and Ed lose themselves in dance, their lives continue to spin around them: Ed’s injury makes it clear he’s nowhere near recovery, Laurie feels the pressure by friends and family to perform once more, and the community center that has become such an important part of both their worlds threatens to close. Alone, they haven’t had the strength or spirit to face what life has hurled at them. But as the turns of their personal paths lead them into the arms of love, Ed and Laurie begin to think that if they dance this dance together, they might be able to succeed.Read an excerpt here: http://heidicullinan.com/excerpts/dan...

Santa's Secret's: The Story That Can; Never Be Read

I don't mean in any way to debunk or defame the story of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. But just for a moment, imagine the possibility, that maybe it was a little different than we've been told.In this story you will find magic, truths, brotherly love, and the answer to the question that children of all ages have asked since the myth began. How do, reindeer fly?My story consist of two young boys. The first boy is: 8-year-old Nathan, he is a boy that is full of excitement and joy and likes to have fun, a boy who loves his grandfather and is enthralled by the wonderful story his grandfather tells one Thanksgiving night. The second is Bobby, a character in Grandfather’s story, who partakes on an exciting adventure with his truck driving uncle; an adventure that takes him first to a secret warehouse where his uncle picks up a most unusual load and then to the North Pole, where Bobby meets Santa and his elves and makes an incredible discovery in the barn where the reindeer sleep.TEASE:Eight year old Nathan awakes Thanksgiving Day morning quite excited about his grandfather coming to dinner. At bedtime Nathans grandfather reads him a story from a book about a young boys adventure with his Uncle on a trip to the North Pole where he meets Santa Clause and discovers what make reindeer fly and other secrets. After his grandfather leaves the room Nathan accidentally knocks the book onto the floor and discovers that the book his grandfather had just read from is filled with blank pages. To whom it may concern:I am introducing quite possibly the most radical and conceptually different way of marking and publishing a book unlike anything that has ever been done. Coming from a complete unknown author it will be quite a challenge. I wish (upon a star;hint, hint) to find an agent and or publisher that is looking for something new and exciting and would pick up my story and marketing strategy and run with it.This is the first of two books in English (Spanish version coming soon (working on it)) with the same exact title. This book primary function is to be read by individuals of any age for their own enjoyment and or read it to a child and or children. The second is not a different version but a whole new radically different concept. The second books cover is to match the first exactly and is also in English (Spanish) version coming soon (easier, only the cover) with the same title contains nothing but blank pages; its primary function is to be found by the child and or children. Should you have chosen to have read the first version, you will understand how the blank version is marketable. The first version (including the text) is a stand alone item, it is an excellent tale. The second version (blank) needs the first to work. The first is a already an working title using the electronic formats (ebook) look for it everywhere (please).I am also looking for an illustrator; obviously an illustrated version would stand on its own merit. Obviously both the text with or without the blank version as well as the illustrated version are extremely time sensitive. The end product would have to hit the shelves running on or before Thanks Giving Day.Works in progress:"Rosa's"A true life story of a Mexican women who wants for a better place for her children to grow up in and the trials and tribulations she had to endure at the hands of an abusive husband because of illegal immigration rules and regulations and the constant threat of deportation."Billiam"Everyone knows how to share; it is a process you learn as a child. Have something, divide it into multiple parts, keep one, give the rest to others. It is a process adults generally do not think about. But what if the process had to be shared with ones self. This is a story of two individual men who share one body.

Kiss of Pride

Some men are too bad to be true . . . Is he really a Viking with a vampire's bite? An angel with the body of a thunder god? A lone wolf with love on his mind? Alexandra Kelly, his prey, thinks Vikar Sigurdsson is either flat-out crazy or he's trying to maneuver her into his bed—which is hardly where a professional reporter should conduct an interview, tempting as that prospect might be. And some men are too good to be true . . . Until Vikar does something a teensy bit unexpected, and Alex begins to wonder whether her mystery man could really be everything he says he is: a Viking Vampire Angel on a thousand-year-long mission with his pack of sinful brothers—and a man who's finally found the woman of his dreams. By then, Vikar is already wrapping his chiseled arms around Alex's body . . . and sinking his wicked fangs right into her neck. If this is sin, why does it feel so good?

Through the Window: Seventeen Essays and a Short Story

From the Man Booker Prize-winning author of The Sense of an Ending and one of Britain’s greatest writers: a brilliant collection of essays on the books and authors that have meant the most to him throughout his illustrious career. In these seventeen essays (plus a short story and a special preface, “A Life with Books”), Julian Barnes examines the British, French and American writers who have shaped his writing, as well as the cross-currents and overlappings of their different cultures. From the deceptiveness of Penelope Fitzgerald to the directness of Hemingway, from Kipling’s view of France to the French view of Kipling, from the many translations of Madame Bovary to the fabulations of Ford Madox Ford, from the National Treasure status of George Orwell to the despair of Michel Houellebecq, Julian Barnes considers what fiction is, and what it can do. As he writes, “Novels tell us the most truth about life: what it is, how we live it, what it might be for, how we enjoy and value it, and how we lose it.”

From Tana French, author of The Witch Elm, A New York Times bestselling novel that "proves anew that [Tana French] is one of the most talented crime writers alive." (The Washington Post). "Required reading for anyone who appreciates tough, unflinching intelligence and ingenious plotting" — The New York TimesMick "Scorcher" Kennedy is the star of the Dublin Murder Squad, and that's how the biggest case of the year ends up in his hands. On one of the half-abandoned "luxury" developments that litter Ireland, Patrick Spain and his two young children have been murdered. His wife, Jenny, is in intensive care. At first, Scorcher thinks it's going to be an easy solve, but too many small things can't be explained: the half-dozen baby monitors pointed at holes smashed in the Spains' walls, the files erased from the family's computer, the story Jenny told her sister about a shadowy intruder slipping past the house's locks. And...
