Douglas the Dragon Play

‘Douglas the Dragon’ symbolises The Power of Love that lives in each of us, representing the constant struggle between the forces of good and evil in the behaviour we display. The story is set in a time and place where war is waged between the human emotions of Fear, Anger and Love. The prize at stake is the greatest prize of all: control over the heart, mind and actions of every human being. The author’s works have been praised by numerous celebrities; the most notable being Nelson Mandela who described his African stories as ‘Wonderful’, the late Princess Diana who used to read the Douglas Dragon stories to the Princes William and Harry when they were aged 9 and 7 years, and a former Chief Inspector of Schools for Ofsted, who described the author’s writing to the press as being ‘High quality literature.’As the founder of Anger Management in Great Britain during the early 70s, William Forde freely gave his anger management knowledge to the world and within a matter of a few years; ‘Anger Management’ groups mushroomed across the English speaking world. After founding the process of Anger Management, William Forde spent 25 years researching his work with both offenders and non-offenders, with aggressive and non-assertive response pattern types and with adults and young people who displayed ‘involuntary response patterns’ of excessive ‘anger’ or ‘fear’. For 25 years, William Forde worked as a Probation Officer with The West Yorkshire Probation Service, during which time he operated his ‘Anger Management’ programmes in Probation Offices, Hostels, Hospitals, Prisons, Educational Establishments and Community Halls. His work in this area brought high success and national acclaim in his area of specialism.By the time he retired as a Probation Office he had established a growing interest of working with children who displayed problems with Anger Management, along with difficulty in processing and expressing other emotionally disturbing emotions such as bereavement, loss, jealousy, bullying, and an inability to possess positive self-regard and love, etc. etc.He became an author in 1989 and initially wrote books for young children that focused upon themes which involved dealing with the type of emotions his 25 years' experience as a Probation Officer had identified as creating emotional disturbance and inappropriate behavioural responses when not processed or healthily expressed. In short, he was using the medium of 'story telling' to openly and covertly acquaint his readership with ‘Anger Management’ principles and appropriate behavioural change. From the many books that he has written for child, young person and adult, his most popular has been the Douglas the Dragon stories, which have been published and republished many times since 1990 and which the next King of England had read to him as a young boy by his mother.Douglas the Dragon symbolises ‘The Power of Love’, which exists in all of us. There lives within the heart of every man, woman and child, two dragons: one is a ‘Dragon of Love’ and the other is a ‘Dragon of Anger’. Both dragons find it impossible to co-exist within the same heart and they are therefore in constant battle to be sole occupant and to control the thoughts, feelings and actions of the body they inhabit. If you want the ‘Dragon of Love’ to occupy your heart, you must evict the ‘Dragon of Anger’ from it. Only by putting ‘Anger’ out can one put ‘Love’ in! This previous sentence essentially represents the totality of 60+ years' learning for me! William Forde January 2012. CHILDREN OF DOLHINOV: A SMALL TOWN IN THE MIDST AND MIST OF HISTORY

The story is told that long after he left Dolhinov and became a distinguished rabbi in America, Yakov Kaminetsky was one day sitting in a doctor’s waiting room when he spotted a Jewish boy who was obviously not religious. He grabbed a ball and began to play with the young boy. His assistant was amazed and later asked the rabbi why he had done that.It is a titanic story though one rather slow-moving by contemporary standards. In 79, the Temple destroyed, the Jewish rebellion crushed, the Romans enslaved thousands and deported them to Italy or southern France in order to extinguish the Jewish people forever. Yet they did not give up their religion or civilization. The Empire fell and the lights of civilization went out. Over almost one thousand years, their descendants moved ever northward and eastward, through the French-speaking lands into the German-speaking lands. And after almost another five hundred years of prosperity alternating with persecution, they went on again, northward and eastward into the Polish and Lithuanian-speaking lands. There they sojourned another five hundred years, often of grinding poverty and sporadically of serious oppression. Then, again they were on the move but faster and farther than ever. Some to lands unknown for most of that time, North America and even to Australia and South Africa; more still back to the Land of Israel, full circle two millennia after they were supposed to cease existing, back to almost the precise spot from which they had set out. “”Do not despise the lore that has come down from distant years; for oft it may chance that old wives keep in memory word of things that once were needful for the wise to know.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring.”Do not despise the lore that has come down from distant years; for oft it may chance that old wives keep in memory word of things that once were needful for the wise to know.” J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring.“One can write much more about our town, and if it does not have historical value, it is of interest to the descendants of our town, wherever they are, to see how life in our town evolved from generation to generation, and were it not for the fact that the Archevil One put an end to that life, who knows where this life would have reached.” Ivenets memoir“To see a world in a grain of sand,And a heaven in a wild flower,Hold infinity in the palm of your handAnd eternity in an hour.” --William Blake, “To see a world”

The Undoing of a Libertine

A Libertine... Jeremy Greymont certainly qualifies. ‘Sex rough and women loose’ is his credo—one he’s always taken very seriously, with no deference whatsoever to the society into which he’s been born. He’s been perfectly content milling along through life on an existence of courtesans and fine Scotch whisky...that is until his grandfather lets him know he’s out of time, and his station in life comes with duties attached. Jeremy must produce an heir—posthaste. Lucky for him, the lovely Georgina is the perfect answer to his predicament and intrigues him like no other woman before her. Jeremy can’t wait to make her his lady, and begin working on creating that heir he needs so badly. He’s even willing to tone down his preference for the wild romps he’s always enjoyed in the bed chamber, just for her sake. There will be plenty of time to teach his innocent bride all about that after the wedding, right? No, not even close. Georgina’s demons trump Jeremy’s in so many ways. A brutal assault has left her wounded and vowing she can be wife to no man—not even Jeremy Greymont. What is a libertine to do? “Georgina...I am so entangled in thoughts of you I could not find my way out if ever I desired.” JEREMY GREYMONT 2nd edition ©Raine Miller Romance, March 2017 First publication [Siren Publishing] 2012

The Key and the Broken Wing Final Edition

The Final Edition is available for a limited time. As Jezzabell says her final goodbye to her Uncle he gives her a key, but one that she can not place in her pocket but to install it into the depth of her hand. Jezzabell herself does not know what the key means and its power is hidden within the truth. Krome desperately needs this key to unlock the world to other creatures.“Shush, lets hide she’s coming back,” he said. “Oh, no, It’s Jezzabell,” Kimberley held said. They hid in the patch of clover and dandelion heads.Jezzabell, the same young woman who did not have the chance to say goodbye to her uncle sat down next to the coffin. She pulled her own white wings off her back, and took out a long piece of white ribbon from her black shirt pocket. She tied the left wing onto the ribbon and wound the ribbon around the coffin. She did the same thing for the other wing and then she tied the remaining piece of ribbon into a bow. “Good bye Uncle Cherrome,” she cried. The wings began to flutter up and down, in and out and then, the coffin began to rise.“She’s taking our key away from us,” Kimberley whispered.“She is releasing the key to the poison ivy,” Krome eyes lit up. The Coffin lifted into the air and a cloud hovered towards the earth. Jezzabell watched the cloud cover the coffin. The sky turned black and the one and only cloud started to rumble. Lightning struck the cloud that had gobbled up her uncle’s coffin. Something fell onto her hair, she pulled it away from the top of her parting and the white key started to flutter around her head. She jumped up and caught it in her right hand. “The key, it”, Krome was about to jump out of the Dandelions when Kimberley pulled him back. “Wait,” she hissed. The key that lay in Jezzabell’s hand started to shrink. Its golden colour faded into black and white.“Why did you eat the Poison Ivy, Uncle", Jezzabell spoke aloud. But the key would not answer her, it just carried on shrinking. Krome could not wait any longer and he jumped out of the dandelions. “Give me that key,” he demanded. Jezzabell stood up; she clenched the small key in her right hand. “This belongs to me, not you!” she snapped.“Krome, leave her,” Kimberley walked towards them.“I want the Ivy,” he stepped towards Jezzabell. “Krome”, Jezzabell stood back against the stone. “Why should I give it to you? You’re not related to him,” she spoke. Krome grabbed hold of her arm and he forced her clenched fist open. “No!” Kimberley squealed. The church bells began to ring. Krome put his hands over his ears; he pushed Jezzabell to the ground. He Fluttered above her. Every second that Jezzabell looked up at him, he dived towards the small Key that lay in her hand. Jezzabell ducked, she stood up. He dived towards her again and she ran in to the clover leafs. As she sat down, the patch of leafs started to cover her.Krome blew heavily onto the ground above her. She was no longer covered. Jezzabell looked at the hand that held the key. The key that had shrunk in her hand left a black imprint of the key. She touched the key but it didn’t move. “It knows me,” she smiled. “You don’t know what you have done!” Kimberley shook her head in disappointment. “What have I done? I had to send my Uncle away,” Jezzabell’s voice echoed around the yard. Krome swooped down towards Jezzabell and Kimberley stood over her. His antlers touched Kimberley’s hair and she began to fly above them. “Come on!”“She’s not worth it,” Kimberley flew around her. Krome flew around Jezzabell several times. As he dived towards her a flash of lightning struck the ground. He was about to grab Jezzabell’s waist when all of a sudden a white mist covered them all. “I can’t see her,” Krome shouted.“Here, she’s temporary blinded you with fog, let’s go before the others come. If they see us they will hunt us, “Kimberley’s voiced drifted away from the foggy yard.Further into the story Kimberley gives Jezzabell a new job, one that Jezzabell needs to get away from her awful boss, but what she doesn't realize is that it leads to her arch rival Krome.Krome desperately needs the key to unlock new powers and bring chaotic butterflies and wildlife into the human world. His only chance of getting the key is to kill her.
