A collection of poems on various themes relating to today's times, such as individuality, nonconformity to societal norms, pursuing a dream, family relations, and others. When we made it to the top of the hill, we came down hard on our brakes. What are you …“Marty! No!” I called out, powering down on the pedals again.“What is he doing?” Kalisha screamed, riding right behind me.Marty didn’t even turn to look at me. Instead, I saw him step up casually into Bob’s van behind a little girl. Then the doors to the back of the van slammed shut. The van began to take off down the street, the music pounding. In our effort to catch up, we passed Marty’s scooter; it was lying on the footpath along with a skateboard and skipping rope.It was then that I realised the truth. When Andy and his brother Marty move to Pine Ridge, they notice strange things about the town: the playgrounds and local pool are deserted, and there’s the mysterious disappearance of a boy thirteen years ago. Then there’s Bob the ice cream man. He appears when they least expect it and disappears just as quickly. Marty might be happy about Bob’s speedy service, but Andy knows something isn't right. Then Marty is kidnapped. It’s up to Andy and his new friend Kalisha to stop Bob and save Marty and the others from his terrifying plan. The closer they get to saving Andy’s brother, the more horrifying truth is revealed about Bob and the missing boy from long ago... Views: 750

Dick wants fun. He has no dog. He has no cat. No Spot. No Puff. But he has a plan. See Dick board the plane. See Dick fly away. Far, far away. Hello happiness! Goodbye Jane2nd October, 2019 is the target date for making India open defecation free (ODF). All the stakeholders are taking all necessary steps to achieve this particular goal without any dilution. I also whole heartedly involved myself in this noble cause and as a part of my duties, I have to go to different places to know about the ground reality of the progress in the direction of declaring entire country ODF. Without saying, it is the greatest success story of modern India. But always there is a funny side of any serious story. Here I want to tell you some of imaginary stories, not necessarily related with the implementation of the present scheme. The characters described in the stories are fictitious and are not real. If any resemblance of any character is observed, it is mere coincidence only. Views: 749
An ancient puzzle box. Fourteen mysterious letters. A Council of Whispers…and a clerk.Discover the 700 year old secret millions died to protect."Why am I dreaming this dream over and over said Johnny. Haven't I always been a good boy."Johnny didn't like living in his father's castle because of the horrid past of torture chambers that claimed so many of the townspeople. The Wellington's who lived for hundreds of years in the castle before Johnny were a very greedy Royal family who liked to throw big Ballroom parties especially masquerade parties. Sir Jonathan Wellington the owner of the castle would make sure everyone at the party had plenty to drink and a good time such as dancing and loud music to cover up the screams down in his chamber of horrors because he didn't want anyone at the party to suspect a thing. Sir Jonathan Wellington was very proud of his torture chamber and liked to brag about it to his guests at the party. Sir Jonathan would carefully pick out who he wanted to show his torture chamber to.Usually, loners were not much fun to be around. Sir Jonathan would put a mild sedative in their drink just before he would lead them down to the chamber to never to return again. Sir Jonathan's chamber of horrors went on for many years until Sir Jonathan got a little sloppy with his choices of his victims. When the two victims that were lead down to the chamber of horrors pretended to drink their drinks, over powered Sir Jonathan and put him on one of his own torture devices the "Rack" stretched Sir Jonathan's body till it was completely torn apart.Nobody knows how many victims there were but there were enough to make Sir Jonathan a serial killer in those days even though this term wasn't even heard of. Sir Johnathan Wellington's ghost is coming back from the dead to take Johnny from his father into the world of the dead. Views: 749
See the other side of a Victorian Christmas through a housekeeper's eyes.Christmas is the biggest day of the year for Felicity and all the other servants at the de Veyney London house. There is food to prepare and guests to accomodate, including drunken cousins and amorous sisters. But no matter who they are or what their position, they all long for a white Christmas.Suitcase Tales is a collection a quirky poetic tales inspired by people watching and drinking coffee at an airport. It is amazing what people can really get up to inside an airport. A dark, disturbing but sensuous surrealistic read. A reality check. Split into two parts this collection will have you either laughing or crying. It is evocative to say the least. Part One contains five tales about five different people – all fictional and all quite strange in their own little ways. Part Two contains two surreal tales. They are all poetic and darkly humorous, at times touching on absurd, but they do have an underlying serious tone. They poke beneath the surface of humanity. We are all real people with real feelings and at times those feelings are strange and human behaviour can sometimes become irrational. Going to the airport to catch a flight for your holiday is great and it is good fun, but sometimes the inside of an airport can act as a refuge for some, and sometimes people around you can wonder off into their own madness. The Woman With The Bottle Of Wine tells a quirky sad story. What if a person from another country has nowhere to hide and the only option is to jump on a plane to England? Why has she come? What does she do when she gets here? How do the airport employees in this tale react to this when they find her intoxicated with alcohol inside Weatherspoons? Exemption - explores the theme of control and how authoritative members of society try to use their power at times. Is there a time when all humans should be treated as equal and why do some think they are better than others? This quirky tale relies heavily on characterisation of its main character and how he sees himself as opposed to others whilst going through airport security. How will he react when he is asked to be searched? Now Everybody Knows - is a quirky story that pokes well beneath the surface of humanity and explores the real life issue of paranoia. A man who lives alone hears knocking on his front door and realises when peeping through the spy hole that his neighbours have a letter for him. What does he do after the letter flies through his letter box and he hears his neighbours shuffling around next door? Too Late - is a quirky tale which explores madness and loneliness. When security manager, Edward takes a break from duty to go and find his friend in Burger King, his behaviour becomes irrational due to his friend not turning up. Touches on the absurd. Gifts - is a beautiful descriptive tale about a man who has taken up residence at the airport. People pass. People stop. Some stare at the bandages he is wearing. Others pass him pretty parcels wrapped in delicate ribbons. What are these gifts? What does he do with them? The City - will take you on a curious ride through Liverpool and the Amazon Jungle. This is a surreal tale written in a stream of consciousness style. It is vibrant with senses and colour and explores one of the downsides of life. Crossroads - is a heart wrenching story of a young woman who crosses the railway lines to find her lost lover. When she discovers his presence in a Doffidil beside her she takes desperate measure to join him. Full of poetry and wonderful images. Views: 748
