A Log Cabin Christmas Collection

Experience Christmas through the eyes of adventuresome settlers who relied on log cabins built from trees on their own land to see them through the cruel forces of winter. Discover how rough-hewed shelters become a home in which faith, hope, and love can flourish. Marvel in the blessings of Christmas celebrations without the trappings of modern commercialism where the true meaning of the day shines through. And treasure this exclusive collection of nine Christmas romances penned by some of Christian fiction’s best-selling authors.(20110831)ReviewThe authors do a good job of showing the complex relationships between men and women. There are misunderstandings, fearing to accept or declare love, trying to deal with the children in the family, and then living in a one or two bedroom log cabin is enough to get on anyone nerves. There are different nationalities, odd family units, dangers from animals and Indians, and more. The authors are very factual about living back in the 1800’s. It wasn’t easy, but a well-built cabin and someone to love makes it a lot better. This book would make a nice Christmas gift. It’s a book that would be fun to read each Christmas season, just pack it away with your Christmas ornaments. The stories are short enough they would work for reading aloud, too. I really enjoyed reading it.(Marianne Arkins Long and Short Reviews )Although they are all set in the pioneer days, each of these stories is truly timeless. Love, faith and redemption are consistent themes throughout the collection, with each set of characters struggling to find their way through physical and emotional trials. Faith and trust in God is the overriding theme, connecting the stories in the collection as strongly as the holiday setting itself. A wonderful introduction to the work of nine talented authors, A Log Cabin Christmas is a collection you will return to time after time.(Joyce Greenfield Eye on Romance ) Book DescriptionPenned by an exclusive selection of Christian fiction authors—including Margaret Brownley, Wanda E. Brunstetter, and Jane Kirkpatrick—this collection of nine romances will become an instant treasure. The American pioneer history comes to life within rough-hewn walls where faith, hope, and love flourish, especially at Christmastime.

Moses and Akhenaten

ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS / EGYPT "The Classic work which redefines the timeframe of the Exodus and places it firmly in the age of Akhenaten and Tutankhamun. Essential reading for all Bible historians."—(Andrew Collins, author of "From the Ashes of Angels" and "Gateway to Atlantis") During his reign, the Pharaoh Akhenaten was able to abolish the complex pantheon of the ancient Egyptian religion and replace it with a single god, Aten, who had no image or form. Seizing on the striking similarities between the religious vision of this "heretic" pharaoh and the teachings of Moses, Sigmund Freud was the first to argue that Moses was in fact an Egyptian. Now Ahmed Osman, using recent archaeological discoveries and historical documents, contends that Akhenaten and Moses were one and the same...

Lethal Trajectories

Review''Mike Conley's Lethal Trajectories takes the issue of energy security and climate change seriously. While it is a work of fiction, the scientific accuracy and projections for a warming world are not. As someone who has witnessed firsthand the signs of global warming, I understand the reality of the situation from over forty-five years spent in the Polar Regions. Lethal Trajectories helps explain the predictions from resource conflicts, oil shortages, increased energy costs, and climate change in a way that is utterly fascinating and engaging. It's a must-read for anyone interested in these topics; the topics are presented in an accessible way, with a twist of fiction thrown in for fun.'' - Will Steger, adventurer and author of Crossing Antarctica''Mike Conley's gripping novel is only too real. I just hope the politicians in Washington and the American people hear the alarm before it's too late!'' - Jim Ramstad, retired U.S. congressman ''Mike Conley is a modern-day Paul Revere, signaling to all who are paying attention the nature of several approaching threats. One of the things I appreciate most about what Mike has done in this book is that he gives readers a thriller based on a sober and holistic assessment of real economic, environmental, and security trends unfolding before our eyes. It's as if he's digested the Pentagon's Quadrennial Defense Review and transformed it into a page-turner.'' --- Rolf Nordstrom, executive director of the Great Plains Institute Product DescriptionThe year is 2017, and a crisis of cata?strophic proportions is in the making. A conflict over oil has brought China and Japan to the brink of war--igniting a global chain reaction; the Saudi Arabian government is over-thrown by a regime using oil as an economic weapon of mass destruction to blackmail the world. The chaos is compounded by terrifying new climate change information, a floundering global economy, and a terminally-ill U.S. president. All the while, a small-town pastor tries to bring unity to her community--frightened citizens of Middle America--as gas prices skyrocket, the economy craters, and lifestyles around the globe change almost overnight. The clock is ticking as the two superpowers, China and the United States, decide whether to approach this perfect storm as friends or adversaries.Mike Conley's Lethal Trajectories, explores a terrifying "what if" scenario based on extensive research and current geopolitical trends and world events. The conditions are ripe, and time is running out.
