I collected some of my previous writings ( some of them are poems, some of them are essays, and the rest are just ordered words ).In the future, I will keep writing various kind of things and will again bundle them out into vol 2.Enjoy!Zelf, a Welfing, a humanoid wolf, is lost in a hostile alternate universe: the world of 1935 London. Will she ever get home to First Den? But the unthinkable happens: she impresses on Zev the werewolf, standing in his wolf form gazing at her on the docks. This is book one in the Steam Submarine series. If you like Tolkien, CS Lewis, Fringe, Susanna Clarke's supernatural alternate histories, Naomi Novik, you will love this paranormal alternate history adventure. Download now and be captivated!Proloup: Reflexion of a WolfThere was no sound but for the steady murmuring of the drizzling rain pelting the submarine’s hull. In the shiny brass dashboard she caught a glimpse of her own reflexion. Bright golden eyes stared back at her, and in the shadow of her grey cape she glimpsed the grey and white fur on her muzzle and ears, and the wet black nose of a wolf. She bared her teeth at her own visual echo and growled a deeply satisfying growl. In this realm, she was the monster. If she was caught they would surely kill her, or even worse, in this strange world of vivisection and animal experimentation, she would end up in a laboratory somewhere, being prodded by sticks and pricked with needles and cut apart by knives, so that human scientists could see what it was that made her different from everything else.In her home, in her cubhood the monsters in the fairytales and stories were all humans: evil hunters with their guns and bombs and bad knights slashing and killing with swords and pikestaffs; crazed, savage, barbaric men.In the Red Riding Hood story in her world, the heroine was a wolf cub, and her grandmother was killed by a woodsman who lay in wait in Red Riding Hood’s bed for her to return, lying there inside her grandmother’s skin that had been flayed from the poor unfortunate old wolf matriarch. It was not a comforting story, and it did not end nicely, not in the version she knew. She did not like to think of the end of it - that one was not a story for cubs. But she had to admit that, despite its gruesomeness, there was a grain of truth in it.Hmph.In the Fallen Realms, she thought to herself, something is broken in the very fabric of the world - fruit and vegetables are no longer nutritious enough to sustain life - Zelf had almost died of malnutrition before she finally relented and ate meat, and only because she would not have been able to fulfil her mission if she had died.Hunting was not a pleasure for her; it was a sad necessity. She always killed her prey quickly and cleanly, and only took what she needed. Views: 489
On the night of December 7, 1942, five canoes were launched off the mouth of the Gironde river, each containing a pair of British commandoes tasked with slipping into the port of Bordeaux and destroying as many of the merchant ships as possible. Only two of the canoes made it to the target, but it was enough. Five enemy ships were badly damaged in the attack. It then became a game of cat and mouse for the surviving commandoes in their attempt to get back to Britain. Some of the men made it to Gibraltar; others were caught and executed. Author Ken Ford gives a blow-by-blow account of one of the most daring raids of World War II, which badly upset the flow of material into Germany, and which gave the British public a much needed victory. Veezee: The Invasion is the story of the first arrival of Extra-Terrestrials to Earth, the havoc they cause humans, and the victory of the valiant group of humans who finally evict alien intruders from Earth.Veezee: The Invasion is the story of the first arrival of Extra-Terrestrials to Earth, the havoc they cause humans, and the victory of the valiant group of humans who finally evict alien intruders from Earth. When the first messages were detected, scientists believed that we would never meet the Extra-Terrestrials because of the great distance between them and us. It was hoped that we could learn from them but even that possibility seemed remote since it would take at least four years to get a response to a message. And at first, there was little real communication because of the response time and language differences but a cult grew anyway, attributing aliens with high intelligence and an advanced society. Even so, many were wary of aliens but it didn’t matter because they were so far away that all scientists believed that physical contact would be impossible. But then Earth learned that aliens were coming. Even though it would be many more years before the aliens’ arrival, the cult became a bureaucracy that enforced politically correct attitudes about the VEEZEE. Still, Ed Halloran (although he was an agent of the bureaucracy) worried that the aliens might not be the benign benefactors that had been claimed. And he was right, because aliens came in a cloud of devastation, and it was soon obvious that alien physiology and alien concepts of society and personhood were incompatible with human life. Halloran, along with his partner Marilee Sharp, and an army made up of very old soldiers and very young recruits, were called upon to rid Earth of the scourge. Views: 489

Mayasa knows she is as skilled as any male hunter in her tribe, and she aims to prove it by hunting the high-dwelling antelope of Mount Meru. Of course, to do that, she must enter the jealously guarded territory of Wawindaji Pepo, guardian of the mountain. Mngwa is the third story in the Bestiary Tales.Bored in the Breakroom is a compilation of flash fiction and slightly longer stories that I have written, most of which had already been published on my blogs as well as blogs run by others.Originally this collection had no theme and was instead just a glom of everything I thought worthwhile. During the editing process, Matt DeBenedictis mentioned the strong presence of academic and office life in many of the stories. We decided to do much pruning here and add some detail there to make the content less burdensome. The result is a more cohesive narrative about the lives of academics and young, urban professionals. All stories written by Jay DiNitto.Edited by Matt DeBenedictis. Views: 489
