SUMMARY:A dark-humored employee-angst novel, seasoned liberally with the Cthulhu Mythos. Spencer has a wonderful antic wit -- he reminds me of Thomas Disch, as in The Businessman. His hapless hero bounces from one dead-end job (Ralph's One-Day Resumes) to another (corporate giants with names like MicroMeg and Pelidyne), but he can't seem to get away from those monsters. Great scenes in which Xerox machines and fax machines and the industrial sprinklers they install overhead in offices interact with Lovecraft's Elder Gods. Lightweight, as horror novels go, but unusually good fun. Winner of the 1995 International Horror Critics Guild Award for Best Novel. Views: 36

This title will give readers an amazing novelization of the upcoming John Carter film by Stuart Moore, and also the original text of A Princess of Mars, by Edgar Rice Burroughs. A Princess of Mars was the first book to feature John Carter, led to an eleven-book series featuring his adventures, and was also the basis for the 2012 movie! The movie John Carter tells the story of a war-weary former military captain during the Civil War, who is inexplicably transported to Mars. He quickly (and reluctantly) becomes embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet. Views: 36

It's the Swinging Sixties but not all barriers have come down - the aristocrats and financial power players still gather around the exclusive gaming tables of the Montcler Club in Berkeley Square while the rest slum it in the underground ska clubs and elicit drinking dens in Notting Hill. And it's against this background of London society and villainy that detective Vince Treadwell enters when investigating the seemingly unrelated murder of a young black woman in Notting Hill and blue-blooded Johnny Beresford in Belgravia. As Vince digs deeper he finds himself embroiled in a secret world of debauchery and corruption, where the underworld happily mixes with the aristocracy, and where no one remains an innocent victim.Praise for Kiss Me Quick:'A thrilling read.' - Buzz Magazine'Dark and involved.' - Daily ExpressUnmissable. - Best'This unusual and atmospheric crime novel suggests that Danny Miller is a writer to watch.' - Good Book Guide'...one of those books that literally grabs you from page one.' - The Week Views: 36
