Once we were inside, I slipped my arms around his neck and kissed him deeply. We were close to having sex against the door, which I wouldn't have minded, but Adam carried me to his room. I fell into his bed and we stripped desperately, tossing our clothes into a pile.
He pressed me back into his pillows, kissing my lips hungrily. I wrapped my legs around him, pulling him closer as my heart beat against his chest. I was ready and I could feel he was, too. He slid on a condom quickly and laid back down on his back.
I climbed on top, placing my knees on either side of his hips and starting with a slow rhythm. I slid myself back and forth, increasing my speed and taking Adam as deep as I could. I grabbed his hands and placed one on my left hip, to help me grind against him with more force, and the other at our joining, his thumb poised to flick my most sensitive spot each time I rocked forward.
“Adam! Yes! Fill me!” I moaned, getting close to release. “Give it to me. Give me everything you have!” He rubbed me harder and I moved even faster, feeling my orgasm start and groaning into it. “Yes, Adam, yes!”
I was still quivering with the aftershocks of my release when Adam flipped me with one quick movement, staying inside of me the whole time, and started to drive into me hard and fast. There was something so fluid in our movements. I listened to our bodies rock together and felt him finish inside of me.
“Olivia, you're amazing,” he sighed as he fell to his side with a ragged breath. Adam took a few minutes to regain his composure before he stared at me, his eyes serious. “I want the best professional relationship with you that I can have.”
I nodded and tensed a bit, wondering if this was where we agreed to stop. Suddenly I was sad and tried desperately to not let it show. I smiled weakly. “Okay. Me, too. It’s going to be good.” I started to roll away from him to get my clothes and get an Uber to take me to my car, but he reached out and pulled me back.
“Hey. That’s not all. It’s not about the deal anymore. I want more of what we did tonight. I want to laugh and have fun with you and see where these feelings take us.”
I smiled, relieved, and reached out to stroke his cheek. “I want that too. I can’t fight it anymore,” I admitted as he leaned in to kiss me. “But you should know. I haven’t dated anyone seriously before, not like this. I might mess up.”
“Neither have I. Let’s work this out together.” He smiled at me, looking gorgeous with his crooked smile.
“Sounds good,” I agreed as I snuggled in closer.
He groaned and breathed out. “Hey, um, maybe I should have asked this before, but I don’t have to share you, do I? I don’t do sharing.”
“You mean Jackson? The guy from the bar at the resort?” I laughed as I remembered that night. “He’s a friend from my old comp team. There’s nothing between us but an old friendship. I just told you I haven’t had a relationship like this before, so there’s no other man. None but you. The truth is, I haven’t felt this alive since I stopped competing.”
“I’m glad about all the things you just told me. Relieved about that Jackson character.”
I laughed. “Maybe I’m reading something into your tone that isn’t there. But is this your way of asking me to be exclusive?”
“Yes. I don’t want to see anyone else and I don’t want you to, either,” Adam told me as he moved over me for a deep kiss.
I kissed him back, then pulled away. “Then yes, Dr. Adam Hampton. I will be yours, and you will be mine. We will have a business relationship and a very personal intimate one. And we will see where it all goes.” I grinned at him and gladly let go of the last of my walls. Adam was worth it.

Preview of The Runaway Prince
Vonn couldn’t believe he was actually going to do it. He was on the plane, buckled into his seat, and his heart was racing a mile a minute. Gazing out of the small window to his left, Vonn looked down at the workers loading baggage into the cargo hold and wished they’d hurry.
Looking further, he saw the sun rising over the beaches of Mykonnia. This had been his home for all of his twenty-three years and he’d never left it on his own before. The Mediterranean island was large, but not nearly as large as he imagined his destination was going to be.
“I’m sorry to bother you sir, but you look just like Prince Vonn Shukakis.”
Vonn blinked quickly, snapping out of his stupor. He began to panic, worrying about whether his escape would hit a roadblock before he even got started. Taking a deep breath, he plastered a casual smile on his face and tried to relax. “Oh, you think so? I’ve never heard that before.” He laughed quietly and looked away again.
The woman who had addressed him from across the aisle didn’t look convinced, but Vonn avoided her eyes. The last thing he needed was to be recognized. He wasn’t supposed to be on this airplane, or even near the airport. If his family caught wind of what he was doing, they’d drag him back home before he could snap his fingers twice.
He had responsibilities, as he was reminded every day. He wasn’t going to ever be king, not unless all three of his older brothers renounced the crown. That wasn’t going to happen, but it didn’t stop everyone around him from telling him what to do. It was exhausting and Vonn just wanted to get away.
“Can I take your picture anyway?”
He looked back at the woman, studying her bright blue eyes and blonde hair. She obviously wasn’t a local and agreeing seemed like the best way to stop her from drawing any more attention to him. So, Vonn gave in.
He smiled quickly and turned back to the magazine he’d taken from the selection in the front of the plane when he got on. Then settling back, he hoped the woman would be satisfied and leave him in peace for the flight. The sooner they got off the ground, the better.
His phone vibrated as soon as he left the plane and was able to turn it on again. He had slept well, dreaming about all the adventures he was going to have in America. He’d read and heard so much about the place and he couldn’t wait to see it for himself. But the number that came up on his caller ID wasn’t one he was looking forward to seeing, at least not yet.
Vonn felt like he was being watched as he glanced around at the airport. He worried the constant sounds of the intercom announcing flights would give him away, so he stepped outside for some air and quiet before he answered the phone.
“Hello, Emril,” he answered in as calm a voice as he could muster.
“Prince Vonn, where are you?” Emril asked with a panicked edge to his voice.
“I’m just on the boat, taking a little ride. I’ll be back soon, but service here isn’t great,” he lied.
There was a moment of silence and Vonn hoped his excuse would be enough, but he was quickly reminded of the vice-like grip his family had on him.
“I’m looking at all six boats docked right now. Which boat?”
Vonn was floundering for what to say, but he wasn’t ready to tell the truth yet. Vonn would eventually go home, but he wanted some time off on his own. Leisure time alone was something that he didn’t get very often in Mykonnia because there was always someone watching him and checking up on him, much like they were doing right now.
“It’s a friend’s boat.”
“Vonn, you are lying to me.”
Vonn closed his eyes, unsure of what to say. Emril knew he was gone, he could hear it in his voice, but he didn’t know how he had found out. There was no part of him that was ready to give in, but the man had watched over him for most of his life and most likely knew him better than his parents did. He had to remind himself that he was an adult now. He shouldn’t have to give a reason or an excuse for why he left and he shouldn’t have to disclose his whereabouts.
“I’m ju
st out and about, Emril. I’ll be back soon.”
“I’ve seen pictures of you on the internet, on an airplane. Did you really think you’d get away with this?”
Vonn thought about the woman and her phone camera. She’d taken his picture and most likely put it on social media. Now everyone knew he’d left the country. How could he be so careless? This was a disaster. So much for him getting out of the country without alerting anyone. He didn’t need to tell anyone, because other people did it for him and he let them.
“I’ll be back soon.” He was holding onto the idea that they would let him stay. He was already here, after all.
“No Vonn, you need to come back home now. I’ve set up a charter for you. All you have to do is go to the corporate jet terminal. It’s waiting on you now.”
Vonn should have just agreed and pretended he was on his way back, but he respected Emril and had been taught to never lie. It was a hard habit to break and the man deserved the truth.
“I can’t do that Emril. I’m going to stay for a little while.”
Emril made an aggravated sound on the other side of the phone. The man was used to him being difficult, but this was the first time he’d pushed this far. Vonn felt bad for Emril because his father was going to rake him over the coals for losing him. It was Emril’s job to make sure all was well with the king’s children and this time he’d failed. That wasn’t his fault, though.
“If you insist on staying, I’ll send you someone to watch over you and make sure you’re safe. It isn’t prudent for royalty to be so far away from home without a security detail. You need someone there who knows who you are and where you are at all times. This is the only way I’ll agree to this outlandish plan of yours.”
Vonn brightened and agreed quickly. He’d agree to anything that would keep Emril satisfied and give him at least some of the freedom he was so desperate for. He didn’t want to be gone forever, just until he could see how it felt to feel normal for once. He just wanted to be another face in the crowd for now.
