From the wide-eyed look Michael gave him, he could tell he’d come to a similar conclusion.
And… something else. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, but it didn’t offer any further enlightenment. Her silky smooth body so close against his own had his cock up and twitching once more, but he resisted the temptation to mount her again, preferring instead to allow her some much needed rest. He finally decided what was bothering him was more of a feeling than anything else, which left him both unsettled and anxious. Trying to put it from his mind, he tried to contemplate the original escape plan, but his mind kept turning back to the woman beside him. Things will have to change now. It isn’t just about us or the wolves any more. We have both Erica and the child to worry about now.
A child? In all his life, he had never once encountered anyone else with the affliction he and his brother had. Would the child suffer from it, as well, or would it be human like it’s mother? Fador found himself hoping at once for both. The years of his life seemed to stretch before him for eternity and he felt a growing sense of alarm at the prospect of watching both Erica and the child grow old and die.
Shut up Fador! It hasn’t even been born yet and you’re already worrying about it dying of old age! It just seemed so… unreal. A baby. Our baby. Is it mine or Michael’s? Given that Michael was the only one to actually cum in her pussy, he knew the chances of it being his were slim at best.
He looked down at the content look on Erica’s face as she slept, her deep green eyes closed now. Her long sooty lashes brushed the tops of her cheeks and several strands of that gorgeous burgundy hair curled around her face. Perfection. He tried to relax beside her, breathing in the scent of her essence and closing his eyes against the world around them. It doesn’t really matter. It’ll be ours.
He sensed his brother’s movements and followed, carefully untangling himself from Erica and rising. They met each other’s gaze a moment and Michael nodded toward the far side of the small meadow. A few moments later they were there, crouched in front of each other. The possessive glimpse Michael cast back at Erica sent a slight pang of jealousy through Fador that he was quick to stamp out.
“So what’s the plan now?” Michael turned back toward him, a mixture of worry and awe on his features.
“I’m not sure. We certainly can’t follow the plan we had to start with.”
“No. I couldn’t risk it, not … now.”
The original plan had been far more simple. They would have gone in and attacked with abandon. They would have killed off all of the humans they found then blown up the facility. Both had lived through so much they felt fairly confident they could have pulled that off. But there’s no way we could leave Erica alone that long. If she were discovered ….
Chapter Six
“We have no other choice. We have to bring this place down.”
“A smaller attack then?”
Fador nodded to himself as an idea began to form in his mind. “They have fuel in there. If I can get to that and ignite it, that should take care of the facility itself. You stay close to Erica and protect her. I’ll see about getting us a boat.”
“I should do it.”
Fador narrowed his eyes, issuing a growl. “No. It’s my plan. I’ll take care of it.”
“I’m stronger and fast—”
“And a father now!”
Michael grew silent at that, looking again toward Erica’s sleeping form.
“How can you be so sure?”
Fador laughed. Fool. “I’m sure it’s yours. What I’m worried about—”
“You can feel it, too, can’t you?”
At that, Fador looked toward the woman, as well. Yes. There was definitely something else there. He wasn’t sure if it was a relief that his brother sensed it and he wasn’t just going out of his mind, or if that fact disturbed him more.
“It might be best to leave her on the beach. You can come along to back me up if I need help, but keep your distance and stay between her and them. I’ll circle back around with the boat and pick you both up.”
Satisfied they had a workable plan, they rose as one and returned to Erica’s side, laying with her between them. Fador closed his eyes. Breathing in the scent of her hair, he found his mind wandering down once forbidden paths as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
* * * *
At first, Erica thought she was being smothered. Something large and heavy lay across her stomach, which felt like it was gnawing a hole in itself, and she was freezing cold. Startled, she opened her eyes and tried to sit up, but the weight on her chest held her firmly in place. Fador?
As memories of the previous night came flooding back she felt a pleasurable tingle all over her body. A quick glance told her there were only the two of them here. The other brother was nowhere to be seen. With an effort she shoved the arm off her stomach and sat up. It’s hard to tell…. Erica was fairly sure it was Fador laying beside her, but it was difficult to tell and she couldn’t remember if he had lain on her left side or the right.
It felt like it might be late in the day. Maybe around noon? Erica looked around the clearing, but saw no indication of where the other brother had gone. The grass they had slept on covered most of the clearing in a thick mat and there were tall trees all around. There was a narrow footpath she thought might be the one Fador had carried her down, but it seemed to disappear several yards into the forest.
Erica spotted her dress on the ground several feet away and got up to retrieve it. She pulled it over her head but had to struggle with the zipper. She didn’t see any sign of the panties, but there was always a chance her slumbering lover was on them. Her stomach made a strange noise. I hope he comes back with food. Erica sat on the ground to wait for him, studying her companion. He lay asleep on his back. His magnificent cock lay on one muscular thigh, the sight of which stirred pleasurable sensations all over her body.
Oh, for god’s sake, stop it Erica! All the things you have to worry about right now, here you are thinking about hopping on for another round of sex. With a pure stranger no less! No amount of self admonishment seemed to cool her desire to taste and feel the man who slept so close to where she sat. It took an effort to pull her gaze away from his magnificent body and look again at her surroundings. It was even harder to get the gears in her mind to start turning.
Fador said we were on an island. That was going to be a huge obstacle as far as getting home went. There was no way she could tell just by looking at the plants around her what kind of island she was on. Erica knew next to nothing about plants, so she couldn’t even tell if this was a tropical island in the middle of the ocean, or one just off the coast. Nothing she had ever read or done in school or after had prepared her for the things that had happened over the last few days. She was proud of herself for staying as calm as she was, but she really didn’t think she could take too much more excitement. She hated the helpless feelings that threatened to overwhelm her and longed for the normalcy she had once had.
So much for wishing for a little more excitement. This really wasn’t what she’d had in mind when she had made that particular wish. It was nothing short of a miracle she was still alive, and she knew it.
It’s a good thing someone with a little mercy found me. She looked with fondness at the man who continued to lay and snore on the ground. The arm he’d had over her chest now hid his face from the light. She knew she would be dead right now if it weren’t for this wonderful man and his brother. Who’s still not back. Where could he have gone? The pang of worry she felt for him combined with the churning of her empty stomach, leaving her feeling nauseated.
“Hey.” She fell to her knees beside him, pushed and knocked the arm off her companion’s face and he immediately rolled onto his side toward her, squeezing his eyes shut.
“Hey, wake up. You’re brother’s gone.”
He sat up at that, stretching and yawning in one motion. Ending with a short growl, he rubbed his eyes and turned back to her.
“He’s probably gone to
get something to eat. I’m sure he’ll be back soon.”
“You never told me what the plan was. How on earth are we going to get off this island? We don’t even know where we are. We could be anywhere in the world right now!”
A slow smile spread across his face and she felt her whole body start to melt under his look. Good grief woman, get a hold of yourself! A grown woman falling all over herself for a piece of ass! But he was already way more than just a piece of ass to her, however short a time she had known him. He had a very definite power over her she wasn’t sure she wanted to fight against. If it’s even possible to fight it. She wasn’t so sure it was.
The way his light blue eyes traveled slowly down her body as though he could see through her dress had her wondering if he intended to answer her or fuck her senseless. Erica was so disappointed when he started to speak that it took a moment to figure what he was saying. He stood up before her, giving her a wonderful view as she followed the lines of his body to his face.
“— Back something good to eat. It’s morning now, but if we have a small fire and put it out as soon as we’ve finished cooking, it should be fine. You stay here. I’ll go gather some wood.”
“Wait. I’ll come with you.”
He gave her an incredulous look as she stood to follow, raising one coal black brow.
Erica wondered fleetingly how he could make a look like that seem sexy and insulting at the same time but found herself immediately on the defensive.
“I can gather wood! I’m not completely useless you know.”
He laughed, further irking her. “It isn’t that I don’t believe you, but someone has to be here when Fador gets back, right?”
Oh. I could have sworn this was Fador.
“I’ll be back in a few minutes. Trust me.” He lifted a hand and stroked her face softly, stirring a fire inside her before turning and leaving abruptly.
Men!
Erica picked up her panties, which had indeed been under him, and slipped into them. She sat back down with a huff, disappointed. On the one hand, she felt a little better after he told her his reason for wanting her to stay behind, but she had the distinct feeling that that wasn’t all there was to it.
He never did tell me what the plan is. She was beginning to suspect they didn’t want to tell her the plan because they didn’t think it involved her. Well it does! Her life was at stake, the same as theirs and she wasn’t just going to sit on her hands and let them risk their own lives. Not if there were something she could do to help. But these asses won’t even let me help them gather wood! So much for equal opportunity.
Then again, who’s to say they actually have a plan? That seemed far more reasonable an assumption. They wouldn’t tell her the plan because they just didn’t want her to know there wasn’t a plan. Just like a man to do things by the seat of their pants. That bothered her a lot more than the thought that they might be sexist. If true, it would mean they weren’t the least bit prepared for anything at all that might happen. She hoped that wasn’t the case.
Erica didn’t have to sit, wait, or worry for very long, though. She turned sharply at the sound of rustling in the bushes, relieved to see it was one of the brothers. He looked only slightly less rugged than the other and was carrying three small rabbits by their ears, so she assumed this one must be Fador.
What am I gonna do when they both get the chance to shave? There won’t be any way at all to tell them apart then!
They both walked around as though it were perfectly natural for them to be nude. Must give the neighbors a thrill. She started to wonder if they’d been taken off a nudist compound instead of just dragged off and stripped.
“Hey there. I was wondering where you got off to.”
“I thought you might like something to eat.” He smiled broadly.
“I’m not even going to bother asking how in the world you caught all of those.” It was amazing the things this man was capable of doing. A little too amazing, really. She was only too happy, though, to see someone had found food. Erica’s stomach complained with a long, low growl that set Fador to laughing. His eyes crinkled pleasantly at the edges in a way that spoke volumes. They were the eyes of a man who smiled a lot. He walked past where she sat as though he was going to walk right out the other side of the clearing.
“Fador?” He didn’t stop walking, so she jumped to her feet and trailed behind him.
“Mmm?”
“What’s the plan?”
“Well, first I have to skin these and dress them so we can cook them. I thought I’d wash them at a cove I found earlier.”
“No, I mean, how are we going to get off this island?”
“Oh, leave that to Michael and me.”
“But I wanted to help, too!” Erica cursed the slight whine that entered her voice when she said that. He stopped and turned to look at her. Their eyes met and he looked her over thoughtfully several moments.
“It isn’t that we don’t think you can help us, Erica. It’s that we don’t want to risk your life. Michael and I work as a team. I depend on Michael to do his share of the work and he depends on me for the same. If you came along with us, we’d both be too worried about you to do our jobs. The best way you can help us is to stay where it’s safe. Now, come on. We’re moving to the cove.” He turned and started away again and she had no choice but to follow.
“What about Michael?”
“What about him?”
“Well, how is he going to find us if we go off somewhere else?”
“Don’t worry about him. He already knows where we’re going.”
“Then why was I supposed to wait for you back there if you two had already decided to move? Why didn’t Michael lead me over?”
“He probably just didn’t want you to get hurt helping him. You’re obviously a city girl and you don’t have any shoes. It’s one thing to walk down a trail like this. It’s something else to wander through the woods looking for wood.”
“Oh.” Why didn’t I think of that? She normally walked barefoot in her home, but she definitely wasn’t used to the woods. Which only made her wonder more about where the two of them were from that they didn’t have any problem with it.
“Where are you from?”
“I’ve lived in a lot of different places.”
“Oh.” That didn’t explain anything at all.
“Where were you born?”
Fador was silent for a time. “I was born in a small town in Europe. I doubt you would’ve heard of it. Growing up, Michael and I hunted wolves to feed ourselves and our family.”
Chapter Seven
“You ate wolf?”
He laughed heartily at that. “No, we just hunted them for their fur. We sold that to feed everyone. We were the best hunters in town. Killed a lot of wolves….”
He became somber, as if an unhappy thought had suddenly intruded.
Erica walked in silence for a while, listening to the strange calls of the birds and scratching a bug bite on her side. I’m getting the feeling they’re hiding something. That was not a feeling she wanted to have about these men, but it was starting to look inescapable. She admired the play of muscles under his skin, the way he moved with such grace through the woods.
“Ever live in a nudist colony?
“What?” He looked at her over his shoulder. “A nudist…? Oh.” He stopped and faced her before continuing. “If you’re talking about this,” he gestured down his body and up again, leading Erica’s gaze along his length in a way that instantly made a blush rise to her cheeks, “we were having a wild night when they took us, that’s all.”
He did that on purpose! It was hard to think otherwise when she found herself looking up into his grinning face. She was so busy trying to will the red away from her cheeks that it took a moment for what he’d said to fully sink in.
Sounds like one hell of a wild night if they were both naked! Wait a minute….
“There weren’t— I mean, you weren’t having sex at the time—”<

Fador laughed again, turning and walking away, forcing her to follow or be left behind.
“No, nothing like that. It was stupid really. Anyway, there really isn’t a reason to worry about any of it. We’ll be escaping tonight.”
Erica was too relieved to hear there weren’t other women involved to pay much attention to the rest. Am I relieved they aren’t involved with anyone, or just relieved their women weren’t killed in front of them? It struck her that none of what he had just said actually meant they didn’t have someone waiting for them at home. Maybe it was just one of those ‘what if’ scenarios to them. What would you do if you were on a deserted island and no one would ever know what you’d done? She wondered why it mattered so much to her, but there was no getting around the fact that it did.
“What will happen then?”
“Huh?”
“When we get off the island. Any plans?”
The tree line opened up ahead of them and she finally had a view of the cove. The pale sand of the beach was littered with rocks, some quite large, and off to their left was a large formation of boulders. That was apparently their destination, because Fador made a beeline for it. When they approached, she saw there was actually a small cave formed by the rocks and inside sat Michael. He had already fashioned a spit and was working two sticks to make a fire.
“Plans? Well… we haven’t really had a chance to discuss that yet.”
“We as in you and Michael or we as in you and your woman?”
Fador stopped short, whirling around with a look Erica couldn’t quite intrepret on his face. Somewhere between outrage and hurt.
“What’s that supposed to mean? Do you honestly think I’d have slept with you if there were someone else? No, don’t answer that.”
Fador wordlessly continued on to the surf, but Erica sat down on a rock beside Michael, frustration and regret churning in her stomach. I didn’t mean to insinuate…. But she could see now how he could take what she had said the wrong way. She gave herself a few mental kicks in the ass, wishing she could take the last several minutes back. On the one hand, I guess that means he is single after all. Not that it matters now. She sat staring as Michael continued to work, and felt utterly miserable.
