  Chapter One

“Liz, what am I going to do?” Jennifer propped her chin in her hand and swirled one finger around the rim of her glass. Salt along the edges crumbled and fell into her margarita.

“Jen, you and Tony are going to have to put the steam back in your marriage.”

Jennifer sighed heavily. “You’re telling me. I started my design business at the same time Tony got his big promotion...neither has helped our love life.”

“Hmm,” Liz chuckled and patted her hand. “Boring isn’t the word for you two this past year.” She leaned forward, her large breasts overflowing her blouse. “But you said things had begun to smooth out for both of you several months ago.”

“Yes,” she shrugged and took another sip. “Naturally, during that busy time our sex life suffered, but we seem to be stuck in a rut.”

Elizabeth tapped her fingers on the table. “If I remember correctly, the last time we had lunch, you complained about having sex only once a week.”

  Jennifer nodded.

“And these fuck fests are quick wham-bam-thank-you- ma’am.”

She winced at Liz’s blunt way of putting things. But her best friend was right. Tony and she had let their once hot sex life slip into a boring routine. They were as pitiful as some couple who had been married umpteen years. Heck, they’d only been married three.

Taking a large gulp, Jennifer let the drink soothe her nerves. They loved each other dearly, but work had come between them and neither seemed to know how to pull themselves out of this mess.

Maybe that’s why she had finally brought it out in the open. Maybe she hoped Liz could give her some suggestions. Liz and Rob, her husband, had a super hot relationship. Oh, they didn’t hold hands more often than she and Tony, but you could see the heat in other ways. The long, wet kisses they planted on each other during slow dances, hands mutually caressing their partner. The steamy glances they shot each other over dinner.

In fact, Rob and Liz went way beyond propriety in public, but knew it made her uncomfortable, so behaved when they went out together. She’d heard plenty of wild stories about their exhibitionist sexual romps. Liz loved to share them with her.

Frankly, Jennifer doubted the couple would have been their friends, if not for their being buddies since college. Liz and Rob had gotten into more exotic behavior over the years. It was nothing for Liz to pull a pair of fur handcuffs out, then give Jennifer explicit details of their hot sexual session.

She would blush, but not stop her friend. There was something exciting and wicked about Liz’s escapades. She did things Jennifer had only fantasized about, some she hadn’t even considered.

The erotic, handsome couples’ move into BDSM community would have kept them from being friends. Rob and Liz attended parties, then Liz shared some of the tidbits later. But she seemed to sense Jennifer could only take so much.

“Hey! Are you asleep?” Liz nudged her arm. Her friend had been rattling on while her thoughts were elsewhere.

“So, what would you suggest – besides whips and chains?”

Liz grinned, not offended. One finely manicured nail rubbed her full lower lip. “I’ve got some ideas. Let me talk to Rob. You and Tony come to dinner tomorrow.”

She groaned silently. “I don’t know if Tony needs to be involved in anything we cook up.”

Liz laughed. “He’ll have to be. But I promise, it will fit both your sensitivities.”

After she left the café Jennifer wondered if she should have asked for Elizabeth’s help. God only knew what those two would come up with.

While preparing dinner, she waffled as to whether she should phone Liz and call it off. But part of her was curious about what direction their sensual friends would point them. For the first time in months she felt a shaft of desire tingle through her blood. If she could get Tony excited as well, maybe she would tell Liz to forget the whole thing.

Tony called just as she finished dinner and said he’d be an hour late. Disappointed, she covered the roast. She had planned on jumping Tony’s bones when he got home. It’d be seven pm by the time her husband drove up. He’d be hungry, and Jennifer hated making love right after she ate. Now there’d be no other choice, they would have to eat first. Sighing, she shoved the casserole dish in the frig.

Regardless, she slipped on a sexy lace teddy with matching thigh high hose, then wore her red silk robe over the outfit. Once they finished eating, she would be ready.

Tony looked tired when he walked in. Running one hand through her hair in frustration, Jennifer wondered if he’d be too pooped to make love. By the time she had the table set, Tony had changed into jeans and a t-shirt. He looked delicious and manly.

He examined her once seated. “Going to bed early like me.”

Her stomach tightened. She had worked herself up properly and really wanted to make love.

By his expression, Tony savored the juicy roast, proving that true by complimenting her cooking after swallowing a bite. She picked at her food and listened attentively as he filled her in on war stories from work.

“Liz invited us to dinner tomorrow,” she interrupted a story about a disgruntled client.

Tony’s expression didn’t change a bit. “You forgot, I have to work tomorrow.”

“Sorry, I did. I could call and cancel. But it is Friday and Liz always throws a grand dinner.” She glanced up at him. “They’re always so fun...and I thought we could use some fun in our life.”

He grinned. “You’re right – they are entertaining.” Tony put his fork down; his plate was empty. “Let’s go then. I can sleep in Sunday.”

She didn’t know how to tell him about Liz’s reason for inviting them to dinner and hated to interrupt Tony as he stretched out to watch TV. After an hour and a huge yawn, he took her hand and pulled her up. “Let’s go to bed.”

Jennifer watched her husband as he went through his night-time preparations. He had stripped down to his shorts, all he wore at night. Her fingers itched to run through the light furring across his chest. He caught her ogling him and waggled one eyebrow at her, then went to the sink.

Her eyes ran up and down his backside as he brushed his teeth. Those brawny thighs and cute male butt called to her like a lover’s song.

Walking up behind him, she peered over his shoulder. “I thought maybe we could make love tonight”

Tony’s expression in the mirror was surprised. She had caught him off-guard. After rinsing he turned and took her in his arms.

“How about tomorrow.” He gave her a soft kiss, sweet with just a hint of passion.

Her nipples hardened and it took all her inner strength to mumble, “Okay” in a nonchalant manner. She wanted him. Desire had gripped her for the first time in weeks, but there would be no release.

Waiting until Tony slid into bed, Jennifer hid behind the half closed door of the bathroom and slipped off her lingerie. She didn’t want Tony to see her seductive outfit.
It would make him feel guilty, which was not her goal. He might even decide to make love, and it would be another of those half-hearted attempts. No. She wanted sex when they were both so hot they had a hard time keeping their hands off each other.

Her husband was already asleep when she slid slowly under the covers. Staring up at the ceiling, she wondered where they’d gone wrong. They used to talk for hours, cuddle while watching TV, go on picnics, and more importantly engage in frequent bouts of wild sex. But, her conscious interjected, was sex that important?

Tony was everything to her—friend, companion, and lover. They’d met in college and married soon after graduating. They were one of those love-struck couples that some people envied.

Jennifer smiled softly as she remembered their first anniversary. She’d caught the flu and Tony looked after her like a mother. He brought her soup, medicine, coddled her, and fussed at her when she tried to go back to work too soon. Her job back then had been flipping burgers to help with college expenses.

Tony looked after her needs, yet allowed her freedom of will. They always consulted each other about important decisions, like opening her business, and the benefits versus down side of his promotion. Heck, they even discussed small things, such as which movie to watch. He didn’t insist they always go to action, shoot ‘em up movies, like some husbands did. They always worked out a compromise. Sometimes she went with him to a martial arts movie when she wasn’t in the mood, and then he’d go to a chick flick with her the next time. She chuckled to herself. Tony usually looked miserable throughout those movies, but a few times he’d actually enjoyed them.

Romantic movies got her in the mood, and afterwards they would have a grand time. Trying to imitate the flick of the moment, they might make love in a tub full of bubbles, while candles set the mood. One time, they’d tried a food scene like the movie 9 ½ weeks, but it had ended in a giggle-fest.

The springs protested as her husband changed positions, bringing her back to the problem at hand. Yes, she decided, sex was critical. It wasn’t the most important ingredient to a happy marriage, but it was a vital one. She sighed. Besides, she missed those steamy sessions.

Jennifer realized she really did need Liz’s help. She just hoped whatever her friend cooked up, would work.

  Chapter Two

Dinner at Elizabeth and Robert’s house was delicious, as usual. Shrimp cocktails, then filet mignon as the main entrée, followed by a chocolate mousse to die for. Of course the cook prepared the meal, but she wasn’t complaining. They had retired to the comfortable family room for coffee when Liz brought the subject up, and bluntly at that.

“So. Jen says you two need to spice up your sex life.”

Tony had just taken a sip of coffee and gulped it down at her remark. “Argh.” He opened his mouth and fanned it with his hand.

  Liz giggled. “Sorry.”

The sharp look from Tony’s eyes said Liz wouldn’t be forgiven that easily. He turned those penetrating brown eyes on her. “What have you been telling Elizabeth?”

Tony and Rob always called their friends by their proper names, while she and Liz used the shorter versions as nicknames.

  “Yes, Jennifer, do tell.”

She turned to Rob, sure Liz had filled him in on all the gory details. Setting her cup down firmly, she caught her husband’s eyes. “All I said was the truth—that we’ve gotten into a rut due to our jobs.”

“Oh, that was all.” Tony folded his arms and leaned into the couch. “Just some stimulating dinner conversation.”

“Come on, ol’ man.” Rob interrupted, coming to her defense. “It’s a common problem for married couples and it just slipped out during girl talk.”

Tony gave them each a hard look and then shrugged. “Okay, as long as the subject is dropped.”

“Well, as a matter-of-fact, Rob and I were discussing different ways to overcome this problem.”

His lips flat-lined and Tony stared straight ahead. He was not a happy camper. Her husband was a very private person.

Jennifer’s eyes flitted around the room—anywhere but at Tony’s stiff body. It was a comfortable space, furnished in what she called safari style, with a leather couch and chairs you could sink into. Fake animal furs draped over the furniture, adding to the coziness of the room.

Liz’s next words drew her back to the conversation. “We thought you two need is a challenge, something to get the steam back.”

“Oh, black leather and whips,” Tony replied in a slow drawl.

Jennifer winced at his phrase, but Liz only chuckled and Rob laughed.

“Those certainly couldn’t hurt...but no, we had something a little less intense in mind.”

“What?” Jennifer asked, too curious for one of Liz’s dramatic pauses.

Her friend picked up her cup and took a minute sip before answering, slipping in her pause anyway. “One simple way to infuse excitement into a relationship is to play exhibitionist games.”

Tony snorted. “You mean Robert is going to drag me to a strip club.” His tone was sarcastic. “Not interested.” At Rob and Liz’s merry expressions, he added, “Or even better, set Jennifer up to dance for me.”

Rob burst out laughing again and Liz covered giggles.

“Not a bad idea,” Liz coughed into her hand. ”But what we had in mind were games that any normal couple can play, just depends on how far you want to go.”

“Such as?” Tony’s voice was totally bored, although his posture expressed interest by him leaning forward.

“We’re not going to give the whole plan away, but the first challenge would be for you to play around in a public Jacuzzi.”

“How much is playing around?” She asked nervously. An image of her and Tony kissing and stroking each other in a hot tub while people stood around them, popped into her head. Unbelievingly, her blood heated and her cheeks flushed.

“Kissing, caressing.” One of Liz’s pauses followed. “But to win the challenge...how do I put this delicately.”

“There has to be a home run,” Rob interrupted.

Tony laughed, but it was not a merry sound. “I can just see us banging away in front of our neighbors.”

Liz jabbed her husband with her elbow. “It doesn’t have to be a full session, just as long as Tony’s cock slips inside you.” She stared at Jennifer.

Tony frowned at her friend. He considered body language talk in front of others in bad taste. She smiled. Liz was just tired of mincing around the subject.

“That sounds like it is beyond a little game playing.” She commented.

Liz shrugged. “You can pick the time and place. Shoot, you can go in when everyone is asleep, but it’s that element of danger we’re after. You could be seen.”

  “And then what?” Tony asked.

“Each weekend we’ll give you an assignment. The chance of exposure will get a little more risky with each one.” She glanced at her husband. “We thought maybe six times should do the trick.”

“It will be up to you whether you play the game once or twice during the weekend.” Rob grinned. “You’ll be too busy to get involved in this during the work week.”

“But no sex except during the game time.” Liz gave them both a serious look.

Jennifer turned to Tony, who raised an eyebrow at her. ”I was starting to think this sounded fun, but no sex for six weeks!” Her voice rose and she gripped her hands together.

“You can have sex during your games...depends on how far you are willing to push the envelope.”

“And the challenge could be as short as three weeks if you choose to participate Saturday and Sunday,” Rob added.

“The whole thing sounds ridiculous,” Tony frowned.

“Just think,” Liz paused, “not having sex except during the game will make you want each other even more.”

“That’s not what I meant,” Tony ran his hand through his hair. “It’s the challenge that is ridiculous.”

Jennifer’s insides went mushy at the tho
ught of depriving themselves of sex for weeks, while the idea of playing sexual games made her feel hot all over. Suddenly, all doubts fled her mind. She wanted this.

“Is it ridiculous for us to work at putting the heat back into our sex life?” Jennifer’s tone came out more challenging than she intended.

Her husband turned toward her. “You want to do this?”

  “Yes.”

The clock on the mantle was the only sound that pierced the silence for long seconds.

Rob cleared his throat. “Liz and I would like to add something to the challenge, a reason to do it in itself. We’ve tried to talk you into letting us pay for you to go with us on our month long vacations. But you always refuse.”

Jennifer stared at Liz. What did they have up their sleeve?

“We want to offer a month’s vacation to Europe as your incentive,” Rob finished, folded his arms and awaited their response.

  “Nonsense, I couldn’t accept it.”

She frowned at Tony. She wanted to kick him, or better yet, clap her hand over his mouth. His pride was ridiculous sometimes.

“Why not,” Liz asked softly. “We have more money than we can ever spend in a lifetime.”

“True. But that’s no reason to throw it around.”

“Anthony, don’t be insulting,” Rob admonished, but followed his words with a chuckle. “It would make us happy to do this for you.” He shrugged. “Besides, it’d be very entertaining, watching you two.”

“Watching us?” Tony’s voice was very caustic.

“Darling, not watching you complete your goals,” Liz laughed. “Just the process leading up to the games.”

“I think you two love to play games,” Tony muttered.

Jennifer jumped in before he could flatly refuse. “We’ll think about it.”

Their evening was cut short compared to their usual late nights with Elizabeth and Robert. She and Tony couldn’t seem to get comfortable while their friends smiled a lot. They were definitely pushing the envelope with this wild idea. Tony was resisting, and although she had caved in earlier, she was unsure by the time they drove home.
