  CH1

  Jason Black ,tied to a chair ;Monstua ,standing in front of him, vageuly human looking with an indestructable torso.Jason still unsure what to do ,counting his last breaths,crying .He knows he was never gonna survive this.He isn't hoping to live ,who would want to? In such a world where only monstuas live,and the people that do are tortured,and then savored by those monstuas.Last ,when Jason watched news ,he knew the world had come to an end ,but he wished he didn’t have to witness his death,like everyone else.

  Jason tries to get up and feels cold chains wrapped around his wrists and ankles.The monstua still looking at him,getting closer second by second .Tears rolling down Jason's eyes only increasing his pain as they roll down his cheeks touching his wounds .He was unconscious the whole time ,only thing he remembers is when everyone was running for their lives .Every single one horrified,terrified,nothing but fear on their faces,trying to run ,but they were all getting devoured by the monsters ,and then he too probably got grabbed by one of those monsters,for that one second Jason just let go of himself ,letting go the misery of watching such a horrible death of this world .Now he is awake ,he wasn’t exactly happy about it though,he was happy that it ended ,he didn’t have to fight zombies like in the movies or anything,that would have sucked ,he preferred to just die .Yes ,he did, he was a simple boy,he couldn’t go through all that ,honestly ,no one could,humans did try to save themselves ,all they got was brutal death,it was a scary world.Jason felt like he was the most unfortunate human on earth ,because he wasn’t eaten the second he went past them unlike everyone else. Instead he gets tied up by chains to a chair,and almost beaten to death.And finally the monster was ready to chew on him,but the monstua fell down with an axe on his head ,his red slimy brain cut in half and popping out of his skull.

  And a tall man standing behind him who put the axe where it was right now.

  He stood there looking a little dissatisfied.''Damn it'' he said under his breath.After a few seconds of deep thought he said "Come on '' while setting Jason freeing him from shackles that held Jason .''Lets go the place is overrun by them pricks''.

  Lights are flickering,,Jason trying to walk , a little bit shaky,all he could feel was chills under his feet,and cold air all around ,the tall man was looking out for him ,leading him.

  ''Come on its clear'' he says,but doesn’t move,shushing Jason,he pulls out a gun,slowly he moves towards a crate ,hinting at Jason with his eyes to hide behind the crate.Jason tries to walk but falls down,when the strong friendly arms of the tall man grab him just in time ,preventing any noise,and pulls him .The Monstua walks past them ,it looks at them,and growls,the tall man shoots him.Grabbing Jason he makes a run for exit ,he runs past the crates,but is greeted by a monstua,fortunately,they were inside a meat locker,so the tall man pushed the hanging meat towards the monstua who then started eating the meat thrown at him,while he was busy doing that,Jason and the tall man slowly made their way to the exit ,funny how Jason ,who wanted to die few hours ago was now suddenly in hurry to get the hell outta there and run far far away from the monstuas,and survive this shit somehow.He gave a frustrated look to the tall man,as he stopped moving towards the exit,tall man went towards the shiny kitchen counter ,where all the fancy pans,knives were kept,he picked a cleaver and another one of those badass looking knives.''Lets go'' he said.Both get out of the meat locker ,only to find a restaurant,that was empty,Jason is taken aback with a sudden noise,he turns around to see the tall man lock the door to the meat locker.''They wont be troubling us now'' while leaving a heavy sigh from his mouth.''Thanks ,for helping me ''said Jason.The tall man pulled up a chair and opened a bottle of wine from one of the restaurant tables and drank the white wine from a fancy glass which was placed on the table.This place must have been open,people worked as usual,businesses refused to shut down,humans refused to give up,just like always,people thought this threat was just like the rest ,comes and goes,and people live on,only this time around they seem to have over estimated themselves,the human race,humans may have been the smartest animal ,but its strength seemed to be failing to face wrath of god,the human race was losing this war.Maybe ,it was time ,time for the end of entire human race.

  While the tall man was busy examining the wine ,and Jason ,thanking god for keeping him alive,on the other side of world a con artist was getting out of a building alive ,with successful con,smiling at the sky,winks at it,giving a confident smirk ''that was easy ''said he.This teal eyed guy had just made a lot of money ,don’t know why ,but he thought it would come in handy,even when the world was about to shatter into million pieces ,which would take a million years to clean up ,and create a new world.It was what he told himself ,that it would come in handy ,even in this shattered world.This is what he told himself.Maybe it was a lie that he was telling himself,maybe he was just being a con as always,lying to himself and the rest of the world.

  Back at the restaurant , Jason snapped out of his thoughts,when he heard a weird sound .He looked around,then he sensed ,it was coming from where the tall man was seated,he looked at tall man ,both were confused,Jason was scared mostly,but still confused as to what the hell was it now,cant a kid have some peace in silence for two fuckin seconds,well you cant kid,not when you are in an apocalypse.Tall man got up and then slowly raise the silk cloth that decorated the table and was blocking the view under the table.With other hand at back pocket ready to use knife to kill another monstua.Then he backed off and gave out a let out a small laugh.A petite blonde girl with bangs covering her forehead sat there ,sobbing,that was the weird sound,both heard.''Are you okay there young lady?'' asked the tall man.She was still sobbing.''You need to shut the hell up,if you don't wanna get eaten by those pricks,lady'' he said with a little seriousness in his voice.''I am sorry ,I didn't mean to cause trouble''she said with a breaking voice.Then she stood up ,wiped her tears,''I would offer you some water ,but I don't have any on me,and this aint my restaurant,so,if you stopped crying by yourself ,that would be great'' he said,"I am Martin by the way''tall man introduced himself to the young lady."I am Christy,nice to meet you'' she said with an innocent smile.They both shook hands and then looked at Jason ,he was taken aback with sudden attention.''What?''

  No answer.

  "I am Jason "finally he got the hint,and introduced himself to both persons.

  In the meanwhile in Las Vegas.Nalini Wayne,just bought some popcorn,as she walked out of the
que screams are heard from a nearby sweetcorn counter,''Did someone get hurt or something?''Nalini asked another woman standing at the end of que,equally tensed by the sudden tension in the crowd,the woman Nalini was talking to screams in horror and makes a U turn and gets the hell out of there with a speed of wind ,Nalini watched the woman get out of the exit and move just about anywhere inside the mall,Nalini chuckled at her antics and turned to take a look at what made that woman behave like this,popcorn falls on the ground ,as she looks at the ugly creature standing in front of her.This thing looked like a skinny man who had a bath in fungi ,his body had a dark green colour ,red veins ,dense at his feet and slowly diverging throughout the lower body.Nalini had heard about something like this on the news but she didn't take it too seriously,she was regretting that right now.'''Guess it was a wrong timing vacationing in Las Vegas.''she whispered to herself.Little did she know ,it was was wrong time to be a human,because the only ones spared were animals.

  Back at the restaurant Jason ,Martin and Christy were having quite a good time ,they were in a highly rated restaurant after all ,Christy was laughing at Martin's jokes ,Jason was still questioning himself about his existance,Christy suddenly asked ''Um,if we are gonna stay here can we use the washroom ?''

  ''Sure,we can do whatever the hell we want ,you don't see any manager here !''Martin answered with his manly voice.

  Jason looked at him with a judging look.Martin shrugged,and hinted him to accompany Christy.Jason scoffed,and walked her to the washroom.Christy gave him a smile ,and went in cautiously.After they came back ,''I think there is no point in waiting for some other survivors to show up ,sleep deprivation aint doing no good for us in this nasty situation anyway ''and he immediately leaned back placing his hat over his eyes slightly,feet already on the table,and fell asleep.Christy crawled under one of the table ,curled up and went to sleep,borrowed a table cloth from one of the tables and slept on the floor using table cloth as a blanket.It was cold outside ,windy too,the team had good sleep for a good,one and a half hour,then the weather turned wild,and doors and windows were thudding,this proved to be troublesome for the team,as this noise awakened the monstuas ,Martin was the first to wake up ,he picked up his weapons ,woke up Jason and opened a window to see if they are safe to get out ,and they did,after they reached the parking lot in front of the restaurant ,Jason halted,Martin was all ready to yell angry words at Jason ,He heard a screaming noise ,it was Christy,''Wait is she in there?''Martin asked.

  ''Of course she is ,you think she would go outsid-''

  Before he could finish ,Martin marched towards the restaurant door,and the looked throught the window,he saw two monstuas,who were staring at the windows panes banging against the window as the winds became more violent,Martin saw Christy under the table ,looking at window trying to find a way out,Martin climbed through the same window ;he first escaped,he fought with all the monstuas that were somehow silent all this time,or were in some other part of the huge restaurant,Jason was great help,he just hit them with chair,after the monstuas were killed he ,it was tough ,fighting the big one until Jason decided to throw a bottle of wine in its face before Martin could aim to put an axe in his skull.The monstua kinda tamed down a bit,stopped looking at them as their food,he didn’t seem to be that hungry now.Jason raised an eyebrow at him ''really?...wine?'' ,while Martin was doing the most important thing,killing the monstua.

  The boys were quite impressed with themselves ,and were about to walk out,when Christy said ''Thank you''

  Martin and Jason both looked at each other ,giving a secret glance,secret was that they both had forgotten about her ,again.

  Christy was too scared to notice their secret glances at each other,and the look on their faces.

  For the night they just to decide to stay there ,if it was so much pressure to take out three monstuas,they weren't gonna make it too long outside on a stormy night,maybe Martin could ,but not the kids.So they just went to sleep again.''Oh,and kid,don't sleep under the table this time''Martin said.

  ''Um,Ok,But I thought under the table they can't find me''

  ''But they did ,didn't they?''

  ''Yes,but it was long after they went after you two ''

  ''She does have a point ,she didn't get caught until we reached the entrance gate ''Jason sided with Christy.

  Martin shrugged''So,I guess ,we live here now''

  Jason and Christy both nod in agreement .

  Few months later ,Christy and Jason are cleaning the restaurant after Martin kicked them out of kitchen,while he was cooking exquisite dishes,they had offered to help but ended up screwing things up.Life was good ,so good ,that even though they thought that this apocalypse was over ,they loved to stay where they are as they are.

  Martin called from inside,'' hey ,are you kids done with cleaning up?''

  ''Yes ,we are almost done ''Jason shouted from the dining room.

  Both Christy and Jason chuckled about something ,an inside joke about Martin,when suddenly a huge fire ,almost blinding ,was seen through the window behind Jason,Christy,brought her arm up to her eyes in order to cover them from the bright light created by the fire.After a few seconds ,they both decided to check what caused the fire,after the walk out of the fancy restaurant,they were relieved to find that the fire was not too close the restaurant,but the could still see the ,now cooled down fire,now that the flames were reduced ,they could see something underneath the fire ,as they walked closer ,nervously,towards it ,they were shocked to see what they saw,a plane,shattered ,going down in flames,dead bodies,in unrecognizable conditions,Christy looked at Jason with teary eyes,Jason immediately raised his arm towards her and wrapped his arm around her,she rested her head on his shoulder and let her tears roll ,''Its ok,its ok,''Jason said ,placing his hand on her head ,slowly petting motion.

  After Christy had calmed down ,both went further down the street ,to look for any survivors,Jason tried to tell her that there cannot be a survivor ,who could survive such a thing?But Christy wasn't backing sown either,so he decided to go with her,but they didn’t find any,''You knowthis is crazy ,I won't go any further''

  ''whats crazy?'' Christy asked

  ''Finding survivors?,why should we now,we are perfectly fine,yes the world isn’t the same anymore ,and we need to find people ,but that was when we didn’t expect for us to survive it,but we did''

  ''That’s overconfidence''

  ''No! no its not,what you are trying to do here ,that’s over confidence,I keep reminding to you that we survived ,is not because I’m over confident,or too proud of myself,I say it cause we did and I want to keep it that way,okay,god gave us a chance,and I am not gonna ruin it ,looking for survivors of a plane crash?'' he scoffed .

  ''Why not,if you can survive an apocalypse ,why can't someone survive a plane crash?''

  ''You still think I am being arrogant''

  ''Totally''

  ''If someone can survive a plane crash ,they can take care of themselves right,then they probably don't need us,come on lets go''

  ''What the hell is wrong with you ,why are you being like this?''

  Christy asked ,crossing arms,demanding an answer and a little worried about him.

  ''If you gifted someone ,something that they really wanted,and then they lose it ,with a few weeks ,how would you feel?''

  ''I would be upset,I guess''

  ''This life,is a gift ,Christy.''

  ''Okay,okay,fine ,let's go home''

  ''Wait!'' a third voice called from behind.Both Jason and Christy look behind to see who it was,it was a woman ,messed up hair.

  '' hey,what happened ,were you in the plane''

  Jason rolled his eyes ,''She wanted to help survivors,and now she is more intrested in the story'' he mumbled .

  Christy must have heard him ,so she decided to save the interrogation for after they reached home.

  After they reached the restaurant,they were bombarded with question by Martin,after hefinished scolding her,he looked at lady and asked ''And who are you ma'am?
''

  ''My name is Nalini Grace Wayne''

  ''Nice to meet to you Miss Nalini,you don't look from around here''

  ''I was in Las Vegas for vacation,we were being transported here thinking ,that this place was not yet infected ,so we,but there were some monstuas ,as they called it in the news,and hell broke lose,we all jumped with emergency parachute.The dead bodies you saw in the debris were all monstuas....hopefully.''

  ''Wow,that must have been really scary ,but you are here now ,you are safe with us ''Christy said.

  Few hours later everyone is ready for dinner,Martin had to make an extra shift in the kitchen,since he had prepared meal for just three of them and now they had one more ,he was a little grumpy about it but he did.Christy stood near the long window at the corner of the huge room ,staring blankly ,Jason approached her slowly,put his arm on her shoulder ,'' hey there,you alright?''

  ''Ofcourse I am''

  ''You don't look alright!''

  ''Trust me I am ,with you guys with me ,I don't I have anything to be sad about ''she gave a cute smile and Jason started walking towards the table .

  ''Martin can't we use some meat ?please?''Jason pleaded.

  ''Kid,how many times should I tell ya,we need it in case monstuas show up,now grab your plate ,and eat ,will ya !''

  Christy and Grace shared a laugh.Grace was standing at the window now,Jason yelled from behind,''whats with the windows today?''

  Both ladies let out a laugh.

  ''No,I am just so glad that I am alive ,you know,being here,still cant believe it''

  ''Ya me neither ''said Christy

  Jason gave her a look of disbelief.
