The early morning was warm, once awake Lucas could never fall back to sleep so he took up residence on the balcony with a good view of the O’Doud estate. No movement, everything was silent which it was bound to be, it was still early. He found himself thinking about his mystery girl, Amelia. Who was she? Where was she from? How could he seduce her?

  Chapter Six

School again, Lucas found himself in the same routine; school, parties, unfulfilling sex, the O’Doud’s and fantasising about Amelia.

“Hey Lucas got some dirt on your honey” Flick smiled pulling up a chair in the school’s outside yard.

“Ok shoot” Lucas listened and learned about Amelia, there were only he and Flick around everyone else must have been in class. He pulled his cigarette pack out of his jeans pocket, lit one up, passed it to Flick and then lit himself one up and inhaled deep.

“Well she‘s called Amelia but we know that already, she’s sixteen seventeen next month. She is one hundred percent straight, apparently she may be a virgin”

“Apparently she may be a virgin, that makes no sense” Lucas butted in.

“Well she might be and then she might not be no body knows but I guess that doesn’t bother you. Lets see very quiet, only has a handful of friends. Oh and she has a very nifty little car from what I hear. That‘s it, really sorry I aint got much else stud.”

“No that’s good I can work with that”

“Seriously, why you want her? she seems way to pure to be your type”

  “I feel like a change”

“Like I say if you want a change” she laughed.

“Yeah Flick I know we can have a friendly trio.”

“Who said anything about friendly I like it dirty and rough. I‘m out see you later stud” Flick laughed and walked away.

Lucas waited in the school’s parking lot hoping if she had a car it would be somewhere here. He waited for what seemed like hours but his unusual patience paid off. Amelia walked out of the school doors still carrying books and her head still hung low. He walked towards her, as her head was hung low she didn’t see him and walked straight into him her books scattering on the floor. The pair bent down to pick up the books, their hands touched as they reached for the same book, electricity ran through Lucas’s body, Amelia quickly pulled away and jumped up smoothing her skirt down.

“I‘m sorry I bumped into you” she apologised.

“Your head was down you weren’t looking”

“I said I was sorry” she replied abruptly.

“Hey it‘s ok, don’t worry about it. Sorry for sounding off. Why do you always look down? your such a pretty gal why hide it” he asked brushing a strand of hair behind her ear she flinched and stepped back.

“I guess I don’t like to be noticed” she took her books from Lucas and began to walk away.

“I noticed you” he exclaimed “My names Lucas in case you were wondering” Amelia stopped and pivoted round to face him.

“I know who you are and your reputation proceeds you and I‘d rather you didn’t”

“Didn’t what?” he asked with a smile on his face.

“Notice me” she started to walk away again.

“Why not you’re a beautiful gal any guy would notice you”

“Yeah but your not just any guy” Amelia turned around again to face him.

“Huh, I take it your not my biggest fan then” he sounded annoyed. By now the parking lot was empty and only Amelia and Lucas stood, alone.

“How can I be your biggest fan. I don’t even know you”

“Yet here you are being hostile towards me. I must say I‘m hurt.”

“I doubt that somehow, you gotta give a damn about something in the first place and from what I‘ve heard the only thing you give a damn about is yourself.” she was now loading her books onto the back seat of a red mustang convertible, she sat in the drivers seat and lowered the roof. The afternoon was hot.

“You judge me too soon. I may not be who you imagine me to be. Like with you, I thought you were shy and some what sweet. Having met you, your really quite fiery and not at all friendly.” Amelia blushed, she hadn’t realised her defences were up, they tended to shoot up when people talked to her even more so when the best looking and most rebellious guy in school was talking to her. She switched on the ignition and started up the car.

“I‘m sorry for been rude, I‘m kinda edgy around people I don’t know.”

“It‘s ok” he placed his hands on the drivers door “I‘ve been spoken to worse. Will you let me change your mind about me?”

  “How?”

“By letting me take you out this Friday night. I‘ll be the perfect gentleman.”

“Err I‘m not so sure, I‘m really not your type.”

  “My type, what‘s that then?”

“Girls that wear skirts that show their ass off and are promiscuous” this was all right but still Lucas couldn’t help being turned on by this girl from just having a conversation.

“And your not like that” he smiled making her blush again. He was defiantly stirring something in her, he was making her blush, making her tongue tied and embarrassed, he smiled to himself.

  “Defiantly not” she protested.

  “I see”

“You see what that I’m not the kind of girl you want to waste an evening on if she’s not gonna drop to her knees and give you head.”

“Oh so you was watching then, I did wonder” he mocked.

“Errm no I err” she paused “What would you girlfriend say if she knew you were trying to coerce me into a date.”

“A date, who said anything about a date? And if your referring to Kesha, she‘s not my girlfriend, not by far.”

“Sorry I assumed you were asking me out on a date I err, sorry. I’m gonna go now before I embarrass myself further” she smiled.

“You have a pretty smile” Amelia blushed “ Before you go are you going to tell me your name?”

  “It‘s Amelia!”

  “Pretty name it suits you.”

  “Thank you.”

“So Amelia about Friday what do you say?”

“I‘ll think about it” and she drove off leaving Lucas solo in the parking lot. She was going to be harder then he first thought but that was part of the turn on, the chase, the pursuit. He was the predator and she was his prey.

“Saw you talking with that Amelia girl after school” Kesha commented as she shrugged on her clothes. She and Lucas had indulged in an evening of dirty sex. “Don’t tell me your hot for her?” she asked.

“What if I am?” walking over to the window, his naked reflection caught in the sunlight.

“Christ you do don’t you, she‘s not your type”

“So I‘ve been told, my types easy right” he replied throwing her, her bra.

“Gee thanks, glad I know what you think of me” her voice sad from his comment, though Lucas felt nothing for Kesha which she knew, she was crazy over him. Lucas sighed and walked over to her, he put his finger under her chin and lifted her head up to look at him.

“Kesha we‘ve discussed this, me and you we're just sex nothing more”

“No actually you discussed this, I had no choice”

“Oh ok, sure you didn’t. Well I tell you what this time can be the last then, there’s plenty of other little slappers that will be fine with no strings attached sex, I‘m sure I‘ll have no problem finding one, if that’s what you want.”

“Lucas, what I want is you. I want you. If no strings sex is all I can have from you then ok. Maybe in time you‘ll want more from us.”

“No Kesha” his voice was angered “Sex is us just sex nothing more now or ever” he unlocked the door and held it open for her, she slipped on her shoes and left feeling cheap and used but then that was nothing new.

Lucas was stood staring over the O’Doud estate, the estate was quiet, nothing to report back on. He’d not seen any life since he moved to California but he needed to report back to his father and the com
mission on something and soon, he did not want another early morning visit. He would have to think of a plan to uncover something, anything. He couldn’t think of a plan all he could think about was Amelia, thoughts of any plan of the O’Doud’s were shoved to one side.

She’d gotten to him, he’d never been spoken to like that before. Girls would normally melt at his feet but Amelia, she was different, his charms weren’t going to work on her she would need more attention. Again he asked is it worth it just to fuck her but he wanted her and Lucas was the type of person who always got what he wanted, no matter what the consequences. He’d spent the night restless thinking about ways to seduce her but he’d come up empty.

Friday, Lucas started his day with an early morning jog around the perimeter of the O’Doud estate, no lights, closed curtains, it was five a.m. He jogged back to his apartment and let himself in five fifty five a.m, he sat on his bed and pulled out the colt, he loved it’s feel, he looked at the three names on the list. Nothing gave him such a sexual release as having the power to take away another’s life. He was looking forward to his first kill, it made him harden and his mouth water. He was cold, devoid and heartless but above all he was a trained killer.

“You fuck her yet?” Flick asked leaning up against Lucas’s locker.

  “No. not yet, you?”

“Nah she aint my type. You know me I like em freaky she’s way to pure for me, she‘s way too innocent for you too.”

“I‘m getting bored of hearing that. Look” he pointed to Amelia walking in their direction, wearing a pair of skinny jeans, knee high boots over the top, she wore a white t-shirt that clung just enough to her body to show her curves and to raise Lucas’s pulse. “Hey” he called out to her walking away from Flick “You thought any more to our date?”

“I didn’t think it was a date” she smiled.

  “Ah funny, so have you?”

  “No.”

“No you haven‘t or no you don’t want to go out with me.”

“No, I don’t want to go out with you. Sorry.” she carried on walking leaving him dumbfounded in the tumult of the corridor.

“What a way to crash and burn, Romeo ”Flick was still propped up against Lucas’s locker laughing at him. “You know she is gonna be to much hard work, just for a fuck. You can get any other girl to fuck, forget her”

“I don’t just wanna fuck anyone I wanna fuck her.”

“Come on” Flick tugged on his arm trying to move him “Let‘s get to class.”

“I‘m not coming, I‘m gonna get that date”

“Oh yeah how you gonna do that she just dissed you on a mass scale, what you gonna do to get her to go on a date.” Flick shrugged ”A date seems too suburban for me, why go to the trouble to wine and dine when there are plenty of girls willing to give it up for nothing.” she laughed to herself “Come on then what ya gonna do?”

“I‘ll think of a way.” He walked off down the hall and entered a class he saw Amelia walk into, he found a vacant seat right behind Amelia. He knew this was way too much effort for a fuck but there was something about her.

“Ah Mr Valentino, what did we do to have you grace us with your presence?” Mr Hodge an English teacher asked while the whole classed turned to stare.

“I had a free period so I thought I would audit your class.”

“Doubtful” Mr Hodge removed his glasses and rubbed them on his blazer sleeve “Anyway, today we are going to be carrying on our discussion about ’A Walk to Remember’ I hope you all finished the book and not just watched the movie but I‘m going to guess you all did the second.”

“Well Mandy Moore is hotter then a bunch of words in a book” a greasy haired kid laughed.

“I‘m sure she is. Now can anyone tell me which part they liked best” Mr Hodge paused looking around at the lack of enthusiasm from his students. “Anybody?” he glanced over in Lucas’s direction “Well Mr Valentino since you had the urge to hide out in my class for whatever reason, you can tell us your favourite part”

“Nah thanks I‘m good just sat here.”

“It was not optional” Mr Hodge smiled. Lucas slumped down in his seat and brushed his hands through his hair. Amelia had not even looked at him since he entered the room, he had no interest in participating but he remembered what the red headed girl had said to him about Amelia liking romance.

“Well” he licked his lips “It‘s a chick flick so I dint rate it much but I guess the bit where the popular rebel of the school perused that quiet girl, you know the one that died. I guess I liked that because that girl took a chance on the guy even though her head was telling her not to and people were saying he was bad and not her type and what not but she took a chance on him and they fell in love.” Amelia turned round to look at him knowing he was using the story as a metaphor for the two of them. “Right now I have embarrassed myself , I‘m off I just remembered I do have a class after all.”

“Really how surprising, well thank you for your input.” Lucas walked out of the class shutting the door behind him. He sat in the hall outside the class and counted to himself. One. Two. Three. Four. The classroom door swung open and Amelia walked out.

“Four seconds” he said making her spin round to face him.

  “Excuse me”

“Four seconds, that’s how long it took you to follow me out.”

“Oh no I ” she swayed side to side as she spoke curling her hair around her finger “I didn’t follow you out I had to err pee” she blushed, embarrassed by her lame cover up.

“Yeah sure. Well don’t let me stop you then” he stood up and stretched out tall, his t-shirt lifting above his belly button revealing a little trail of hair. He walked away from Amelia.

“Hey wait” she called out after him “You still want to take me out?” she asked her head hung low and her hands buried deep into her pockets.

“I‘m not sure after you blowing me out before.”

  “Oh. Ok”

“Amelia I wunt of asked you if I dint wanna take you out.” She blushed. She did like him but everything about her was telling her to turn and walk away from him. “Here, here‘s my number call me and tell me what you fancy doing tonight” he passed her a scrap of paper with his number written on.

“Should you not be deciding” she asked confused, she didn’t really talk too guys and she’d definitely never been out on a date with one.

“I thought it be better if you chose that way you know your already gonna like it.” His phone rang and Lucas went all quite and secretive, he turned away from Amelia and agreed several times with the caller and finished the conversation with ‘leave it with me I’ll sort it right away’. He turned back to Amelia “I‘m sorry I gotta go, call me yeah let me know what you wanna do” he ran off down the hall and out the Cal High’s entrance.

  Chapter Seven

He stood in front of a dingy block of flats and peered down at the crumpled piece of paper in his hand, ‘Alberto Colleti, Flat 5, Breezes Block’. he walked up the piss drenched steps, passed the graffiti and boarded up elevator shaft. He looked at a door to his left. Flat five. He pounded on the door.

“One minute” a man yelled from inside, Lucas pounded on the door again “Jesus! I said one fucking minute”. The door opened and a short, stubby, bald headed man in a white string vest stood in front of him with a blank expression on his face.

“Do you know who I am?” Lucas asked.

“Boy scout selling cookies” the man laughed “Clear out kid, I‘m busy” the man went to close the but Lucas stopped him by jamming his foot in the narrow gap.

  “Try again Mr Colleti”

“Look kid I don’t know who the fuck you are or why the hell your stood in my door so fuck off yeah.” Lucas forced his way into the flat and pushed Colleti to the floor, slamming the door shut behind him. “What the fuck” Colleti yelled out. Lucas stood over him and pulled out his colt which was tucked into his jeans and attached the silencer.

  “I‘m Lucas Mr Colleti, Luca
s Valentino.” fear came over Colleti’s grey eyes. “I‘ve been hearing things I don’t like about you and things you have said about my family. As you can understand I don’t like that nor does my father, he is far from impressed and thinks you should be taught a lesson” Colleti begged Lucas to spear his life, he just ignored. “And so do I” Lucas pointed the gun and aimed between Colleti’s eyes. Colleti was paralyzed with fear. Lucas pulled the trigger, a bullet flew into the middle of Colleti’s forehead throwing his body backwards, instantly killing him. Lucas still stood over Colleti’s body, he was charged, alive, he felt such a rush when he pulled the trigger, the look of fear on Colleti’s face was the biggest thrill Lucas had ever felt. His phone rang startling him back to reality.

“What” he exasperated into the phone.

“Lucas?” a sweet, quite voice asked “Is this a bad time?”

“Who is this?” his voice was angered and out of breathe, he was moving Colleti’s body, the bullet had penetrated through his skull leaving an explosion of an exit wound, blood and brain fragments were splattered over the wall and all over the floor where his body laid. He dragged the body into a closet whilst on the phone.

“Oh sorry, it‘s” the voice paused “It‘s Amelia. Sorry you sound busy. I‘ll let you go.”

“No wait” he exclaimed “Sorry I dint expect you to call”

“You gave me your number, did you not want me to call? Should I of called later? Or earlier? Sorry I‘m no good at this.”

“Amelia” he laughed “Calm down” his voice was calmer now more soothing. “Don’t worry and stop apologising. I just meant I thought you might of blown me off again”

“Oh, no sorry, why did you want me to?”
