“I think I saw you dropping Emerson off this morning.” Kinsley was blushing as she stared at me while talking to Piper.
“That would be me.” Piper smiled, completely unaware of the awkwardness of the situation.
“Aunt Piper, let me show you my cubby.” Emerson dragged Piper away, leaving Kinsley and me standing in the middle of the classroom as parents fluttered around with their excited kids.
“This is awful,” she muttered.
“Tell me about it.” I dug my hands into the pockets of my jeans, not having the slightest clue how to handle the situation.
“I should probably get back to it.” Kinsley rubbed her sides nervously.
“See you after at the Red Crow?”
“I definitely need a drink after this. I’ll see you there.”
I breathed a sigh of relief as she composed herself and dove right back into teacher mode.
As Emerson showed me around the classroom, I couldn’t help but glance over at Kinsley. She was completely captivating.
I’m a goner.

“Going back out to see your hot little teacher?” Piper pestered while cleaning up from dinner.
“What?” I gaped over at her.
“Your mystery girl from last night is Emerson’s teacher, isn’t she?”
Piper was too good. Dammit.
I rubbed the back of my neck. “How’d you know?”
“I saw the way the two of you were looking at each other. I’m not dumb, Maccon.”
I bowed my head. “It’s bad, isn’t it?”
“Just don’t fuck it up and everything will be fine.”
“Emerson can’t know,” I demanded, pointing a sharp finger at my sister.
“Fuck no. She cannot find out.”
I pulled on my leather and dug in my pocket for the keys to my Harley. Tossing them into the bowl on the counter, I swapped them out for my truck keys. I didn’t want Elijah to recognize my bike from the night before and get spooked. I wasn’t going to take any chances. We only had one shot at this.
“Don’t wait up for me, sis.” I pecked her on the cheek.
“Wasn’t planning on it.”

Sitting right where she had been the night before, Kinsley was waiting for me with drinks at the ready.
“Fancy seeing you here.” I kissed her cheek before sitting down.
“Hey there, handsome.” She smiled over her shoulder at me. “That was some surprise tonight.”
“You’re telling me.” I still wasn’t over the humiliation of banging my kid’s teacher, but seeing Kinsley dressed down, looking good enough to eat again, I mentally pushed the discomfort away.
“It’s not weird for you, is it?” she asked with a frown.
I took a swig from my freshly poured beer. “Not if it isn’t for you.”
“I like that answer. Don’t expect special treatment for Emerson, though. There’s no amount of amazing oral in the world that will get me to play favorites.” She bit her lips as her hand landed on my forearm.
I pulled her into me. “Oh come on, there has to be some amount of amazing oral that would earn a little bit of special treatment,” I whispered in her ear. “I’ll take you into the bathroom right now and show you just how amazing it can be.”
She moaned a little as her head fell onto my shoulder. “All right, there might be an amount, but I am telling you, it’s not going to be easy.”
“I like a challenge.” My phone buzzed in my pocket. “Sorry, I have to check this,” I muttered to Kinsley.
“Have at it.” She waved me off, scooting away just a bit to give me privacy.
I opened the message from Reese: We’re in place. We’ll let you know.
Me: Perfect. Wait for my signal.
“Now where were we?” I smirked at Kinsley as she sipped from her rocks glass.
“I think we were discussing you licking my clit again.” She sighed breathily into my ear.
“I can’t wait to taste you again,” I admitted quickly, flashes of the night before almost distracting me from the true nature of my visit to the bar.
Just as she was about to respond, I saw Elijah walking toward the back door.
“I’ll be right back.” I leapt to my feet, holding a finger up to Kinsley. “Hold that thought.”
She stared at me as I followed him out into the dimly lit parking lot.
Whistling for Reese and Jett, I looked right at my enemy as he whipped out his dick to piss in the gravel next to his bike.
With Reese and Jett trotting over to me, I rushed up behind the fucker, punching him in the shoulder.
“Hey man, remember me?” I yelled as he stumbled forward, frantically trying to put his cock away.
Reese grabbed his arm, spinning him around.
“Oh shit,” Elijah stammered as he tried to make a break for it.
“Not so fast.” Jett stopped him, showing him the baseball bat in his hand.
“I didn’t do anything. You can have Kinsley. I didn’t even talk to her tonight.” He was shaking like the pathetic pussy that he was.
“I’m not here because of Kinsley,” I growled. “I’m here because you murdered my wife and almost killed my daughter ten years ago. Ring a fucking bell?” I was seething as Reese and Jett held the arms of the squirming coward.
Elijah’s face went white as I rolled up the flannel sleeve of my left arm, revealing the Unacceptables tattoo I wore so proudly. As the pieces clicked into place in his head, I saw terror take over his entire body.
“It wasn’t me. I didn’t make that call,” he whined. “I swear. I left the club right after that happened. I didn’t sign up to be a woman killer. You gotta believe me.”
“Maccon? What the hell is going on?” Kinsley was thundering toward us.
“You need to go back inside.” I grabbed her arm. “Please, Kinsley. I need to take care of something.”
“He’s not worth it. I’m not worth it. What are you thinking?” she yelled in my face, ripping her arm out of my grasp.
“This has nothing to do with you. He helped kill my wife.” The words felt bitter as I admitted them to her.
“He did wh-what?” she stammered, taking a step back. “You did what?” she screamed at her ex.
“I didn’t mean to. I thought I was just blowing up an empty house. No one was home when we put the shit in the crawlspace.” He was blubbering as snot started to pour from his nose. “I didn’t want to hurt anybody. I swear!”
“What do you want to do, boss?” Reese asked.
I looked into Kinsley’s eyes. For some reason I didn’t want anything to do with this revenge anymore, and a part of me believed the sniveling idiot.
Fuck.
Kinsley put her hand on my shoulder as her eyes pleaded with me.
“Let him go,” I ordered, and Reese and Jett instantly released their grip. Taking a step toward Elijah, I glared at him. “Show me.”
He blinked at me. “What?”
“Show me you’re actually out of the Renegade Kings. I need to see the covered ink.”
Ripping his shirt up over his head, he tossed it on his bike. He turned slowly with his arms stretched out. All of his tattoos were blackened blobs.
“I wasn’t lying. There hasn’t been a day I haven’t thought about what happened,” he murmured, his head hanging. “I am so fucking sorry, man. I ran away from that life and never looked back.”
Watching him fall apart in front of me was enough. I was done. I needed to move on.
“Get the fuck out of my sight. I never want to see you around here again, and you better never contact my girl. You’re fucking done.”
He dragged his keys out and got on his bike right away. “I fucking swear, you’ll never see me again.”
We stood in the parking lot, making sure he actually rode away.
Pulling Kinsley into my arms, I looked down at her. “I’m sorry for this.”
She kissed my cheek. “If my wife had bee
n brutally murdered, I probably would have done a lot worse.”
“Does that mean you’ll go out with me again?” I shot her a crooked smile.
“Let’s see…” She tapped a finger against her lips for a few seconds. “A handsome, single dad with a heart of gold who also happens to be badass biker wants to date me? I think I could handle that.”
Reese and Jett both made cooing noises behind us.
“Shut the fuck up. Don’t ruin the damn moment,” I barked at them.
Throwing their hands in the air, they each took a couple of steps back.
“I’m really glad I met you, Kinsley Rogers.” I picked her up in my arms, twirling her around in the gravel lot.
As she giggled, she beamed down at me. “That feeling is very much mutual.”
Chapter 12
Kinsley
“Fuck, Maccon,” I cried as his talented tongue sent my entire body into a frenzy.
“You like that, babe?” he mumbled as his fingertips dug into the outside of my thighs.
I couldn’t respond.
I could barely breathe.
Everything was just too perfect.
As my climax built, I slammed my eyes shut. My hips bucked into Maccon’s bearded face as he sent me over the edge splendidly.
“You’re incredible,” I murmured when I was finally able to catch my breath after he climbed up from the floor to join me on the bed.
“I could say the same thing about you, sweetheart.”
He pulled me in toward him, and I rested my head on his shoulder. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For not killing Elijah and letting him go because I asked you to.” I looked into his hardening face.
“It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, if I am being honest here.” Hearing him admit that to me meant everything.
“I had no idea, for the record. I’ve only known him for a few years.”
Maccon kissed my forehead. “That thought never crossed my mind.”
“Good.”
“Can we just move on from this?” he asked before kissing me quickly.
“And move on to the fact that I accidently started dating a single dad whose kid is my student?”
Maccon chuckled. “Fuck. We really know how to start a relationship, don’t we?”
“It’s a good story at least,” I teased, shifting more into him.
“That’s one way to look at it. The hard part is going to be keeping this from Emerson.”
“Well, she won’t be my student forever, and besides, I have a feeling you don’t take introducing her to a woman lightly.”
Maccon’s arms wrapped around me tighter. “You’re perfect.”
“I’m starting to get the sense that you are too,” I admitted to him.
It wasn’t like I was naïve to the world he lived in. I had dated enough of the type to know what I was getting myself into. The president flash he donned on his chest wasn’t lost on me, and I would be a liar if I didn’t admit that it scared the shit out of me to some extent. But, at the same time, it was thrilling, and how much he cared for his daughter was the nail in the coffin, my complete kryptonite all in one fucking package of a gorgeous man.
As Maccon slowly drifted off to sleep, I lay in his arms with every thought of how amazing and terrible the entire situation could be running through my mind, but he seemed to be worth the risk.
Epilogue
Kinsley
Ten months later
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and before we knew it, summer vacation was starting.
Maccon and I had done well just dating and getting to know each other over the year while Emerson flourished in school.
Maccon: Are you ready for dinner at my place?
As I sat on my bed, nervously waiting to get ready to head to his house for the first time, I read his message over and over.
Me: As ready as I am ever going to be.
I was ready to take the next step with Maccon and finally reveal to his sweet little girl that I was in love with her father—something I hadn’t even admitted to him yet. It was a little secret we had both been tiptoeing around since a month after we met.
It hadn’t been a surprise to me that I’d fallen for Maccon Allred almost instantly, but that was a card I needed to keep close to the vest for self-preservation.
The nagging knowledge that if Emerson freaked out about the situation, our relationship would be over before it could really get started pecked at the back of my mind while I curled my hair.
It’s going to be fine, I tried to reassure myself.
Slowly I ascended the front steps of Maccon’s house. Before I could even ring the doorbell, Emerson was flinging the door open.
“Ms. Rogers? Are you the special guest daddy told me was coming over for dinner?” She instantly lunged for me, wrapping her tiny around arms my waist.
Smiling down at her elated face, I nodded. “I think I am.”
Maccon strode into the doorway, kneeling down to his daughter’s level. “Em, what do we do when we have guests?”
She bounced on her heels, playing with the hem of her My Little Pony shirt. “We invite them inside.”
He kissed her forehead before looking up at me. “Would you like to come in?” he asked while getting back up onto his feet.
“I would love to.” I beamed at him, handing over the bottle of Malbec I had brought, not having known what else to bring as a gift.
Piper called out from the kitchen. “Dinner is almost ready. Hey, Kinsley.”
“Hi!” I hollered back. Over the year, Piper and I had become close friends. It was nice to have another female friend. Other than the ones I worked with, they were in short supply in my life.
She rushed in to give me a quick hug with a Kiss the Cook apron tied tightly around her. “I am so glad we are finally able to do this.”
“Same here.” Maccon chuckled, pulling his daughter into his arms. “Wanna help me set the table?”
She nodded feverishly, wiggling out of her father’s grasp and darting into the kitchen.
Piper and I watched as Maccon fawned over his daughter, reminding her how to correctly set a table.
“I don’t know if that sight is ever going to get old,” I remarked to Piper.
She pursed her lips. “I know exactly what you mean.”
“Do you think she’s going to take the whole dating thing all right?”
Piper turned to me, putting a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “She’s going to be so freaking excited. You’re the first one Maccon has ever let us meet. I think he knew pretty early on that you were worth it.”
I cocked my head to the side. “In over a decade, Maccon has never had an actual girlfriend?”
Piper winked at me. “You didn’t hear it from me, but yep.”
Dinner came and went in the most normal, uneventful way you could imagine. It was amazing and simple. I loved every second of it.
As Maccon scooped ice cream into a bowl for his daughter, he glanced over his shoulder at her. “Did you like having Ms. Rogers over for dinner?”
Emerson shifted in her seat. “It was the best!” she replied, clearly elated.
“Would you like for her to come over more?”
She nodded while throwing her arms in the air. “Yes!”
“That’s good, because I have something to ask Ms. Rogers.” He set the small bowl down on the table, and as the little girl dove into her treat, Maccon knelt down in front of me.
“Kinsley.” He took my hand as he stared up into my eyes. “You’re everything I could have ever asked for. I know this year wasn’t the easiest on either of us, but we made it. I love you.”
As he paused to pull a small box out of his pocket, my heart stopped.
“Maccon,” I said breathlessly. “I love you too.”
“Will you do me the honor of being my wife?”
As the words fell into the air, Piper and Emerson both stopped dead, ho
lding their breath in anticipation of my answer.
“Yes! Yes, I will marry you,” I cried out as I threw my arms around his thick neck.
Emerson and Piper cheered while Maccon pulled me into his embrace.
Lost in his icy blue eyes, I felt a little hand curl into mine. We both looked down at the jubilant girl.
“I think this is the best day of my life,” Emerson giggled out.
“I think this is my best day, too.” Maccon kissed me as tears streamed down my face.
“I couldn’t agree more,” I replied before kissing him back.
The End.

Unacceptable
It’s finally my time.
Time to escape from my mother, her crazy antics and questionable morals. I'm getting the heck out of Dodge, leaving the trailer park, to make something of myself. Everything was fine until I walked into The Unacceptables' bar and met Abel Hellock. With his gorgeous muscles, tattoos, motorcycle and perfect smile, my knees quaked. My life was about to be sucked back into the seedy underbelly I fought so desperately to climb out of.
