“Again, sir. Please.” I loved when she asked me to bite her more.

As I bit down in the same spot, her breath hitched. I grabbed her ass, letting my nails dig into her tender flesh.

“I missed this,” I said breathily, releasing my grip and bite.

She looked over her shoulder at me. “Texts go both ways,” she teased with a wink.

I shot her a quick smirk. “You might have to pay for that smartass comment, little girl.”

I grabbed the flog from my nightstand. After weaving my fingers through her hair with one hand, I let the flog fly. A loud slap rang out in my room, harder than she usually liked, but punishment was meant to push limits. She cried out, but the smile that puckered her lips was perfect.

“Are you going to be a good girl?”

  She nodded.

“Say it. I need to hear it.” My voice was harsh and guttural.

“I will be good, sir,” she whispered. I could feel the desire to be defiant radiating from her.

Positioning myself on my knees, next to her face, I forcefully grabbed her hair again. “You’re going to suck me off until it’s nice and wet. Then I am going to lie down and you will ride my dick with it in your ass until I come. One rule: you have to come before I do.”

“Yes, sir,” she said right before taking my length into her mouth. She sucked and spit on my cock. I loved listening to her gag and gurgle as my dick slammed into the back of her throat, and my moans cheered her on as her pace quickened.

Pulling away, Rosa looked up at me, “Sir, may I please have your cock in my ass now?”

“Yes, you may.” I leaned down, untying her ankles. “Anything too tight?” I checked her wrists. The last time we’d had a session, Rosa’s fingers had gone numb but she had refused to tell me.

She nodded. “No, I promise. I just want to feel you.”

I got in between her knees, helping her straddle me. Slowly, the head slid into her opening.

“Fuck, your ass is so damn tight.” I grabbed her hips, pulling her farther down onto my length. She leaned back as far as her rope would let her, rocking her hips back and forth. I could barely keep control as I watched her tits bounce while she rode me, a thin layer of sweat covering her gorgeous body as she groaned. I could tell she was about to hit her climax as she started to tremble on top of me.

“Are you forgetting something?” I ask as I smack her ass.

“Sir!” she cried. “May I please come?”

“You may.” Our eyes locked as she shuddered and moaned, her wetness dripping. A rush of euphoria washed over me in an instant and I thrust hard into her, feeling my release in every vibrating cell in my body.

I reached up, pulling at the knots to free Rosa’s hands.

She kissed my cheek sweetly. “You, sir, are incredible.”

“You’re not so bad yourself.” I grabbed the towel from the floor next to my bed, first cleaning her up a bit, then myself. “Want to take a shower?”

She nodded her head while checking the clock. “I have a session in about thirty minutes. Thanks.”

I started to laugh. “You have a client this late?” Rosa was a domme for rich men that needed to have someone else control them for a while. Since she was in control most of the time, she begged me to never make her take charge. I was her break from having to be the master and I fucking loved our little arrangement.

“Some lawyers work late, babe. I just go where and when my clients need me.” She hopped off my bed and made her way into my bathroom.

“You’ll never cease to amaze me.”

“I will take that as a compliment.” She smiled at me before shutting the bathroom door.

  Chapter 3

  Karla

“Another long night.” I yawned, sitting in the break room with Rich per usual.

He had just warmed up the homemade chicken noodle soup his new husband had packed for him.

“It’s pretty slow tonight, eh?” he asked before slurping down some noodles.

I pulled my Kindle out of my bag. “For sure. Thank goodness for technology.” I opened a family-sized bag of dill pickle chips, starting to go to town. They were my weakness and I couldn’t help satisfying the craving while I had to be working such shitty hours.

Right as I was about to get to the good part in Julia Sykes’ newest release, the charge nurse popped her head into the break room. “Karla, you can head on home. It’s a quiet night and you’re dangerously close to hitting OT.”

Without questioning it, I jumped up from my seat. “Perfect. See you guys tomorrow night.”

Rich shot me a jealous glance followed by a sweet smile. “Enjoy some bed time with that hunk of yours, for all our sakes.”

I laughed. “If I can wake the bear from his hibernation, trust me, I will make up for lost time.”

Working different hours than James was really starting to take its toll on our relationship. It wasn’t just the lack of sex we were having; it was the absence of intimacy. It was something I’d never thought would happen to us, but I guess it can happen to even the most connected couples.

From day one, James and I had palpable chemistry in every sense of the word. We had mind-blowing sex, laughed at all the same things, had most of the same interests, and went on tons of random adventures together, but it had all started to fade as the months turned into years. I kept saying we needed to get our mojo back, but actions speak louder than words. Getting off early was the perfect time to show my man just how much I missed being us and how much I wanted to get back there.

After stopping off at the quick stop down the block from the apartment to grab a bottle of James’ favorite Malbec, I made my way up the stairs, giddy to surprise James for the first time in forever. It was almost one in the morning and I couldn’t wait to crawl into bed next to him; just the thought put the biggest smile on my face.

Sticking the key into the lock, I tried to be as quiet as possible to not wake the yappy pups up. But, of course, their supersonic hearing had them at the door, barking up a storm before I could even get one foot in the door.

I set the bottle of wine on the counter. “Hush. We don’t want to wake Dad up,” I whispered, picking up both Nike and Thor to carry them into the bedroom with me. Tiptoeing through the darkened apartment, I gingerly made it into my bedroom without making too much more of a ruckus. I set the dogs down and snuck under the sheets in the pitch-black room, only to find them cold and empty.

“The fuck?” I remarked out loud. “Where the hell is James?” Leaning over at rapid speed, I turned on the lamp. The bed was definitely missing a key component.

He’s probably just out with Joey.

  Don’t jump to conclusions.

I repeated that over and over in my mind while I typed feverishly to text my man.

  Why am I freaking out?

  James is a good guy.

  He’s my guy.

It wasn’t like James was a complete homebody, but on work nights, he was usually one to be asleep by ten at the latest. Working construction took it out of him and with long hours and laborious work, he certainly enjoyed his downtime.

Me: Hey babe, got off work early :)

Play it cool, don’t let him think anything is up.

It only took a few seconds for the typing bubble to pop up. I tried to level out my breathing to calm my racing heart.

James: Awesome! Can’t wait to see you.

Does he really think I don’t know he isn’t home?

Me: Be home in five. You better be ready for me.

James: Get that sweet ass home to me.

As I was reading his last message, I heard the front door opening.

“Babe?” James called from the foyer.

“In here!” My blood was boiling.

  What a fucking douche nozzle.

  Stay calm.

Don’t blow up until you have all the facts.

A lazy smile spread on James’ face as he strode into our bedroom. “I thought you were still on
your way. Damn near gave me a heart attack thinking someone broke in and turned all the lights on.”

He crawled onto the bed, kissing my cheek like everything was normal.

“Where were you?” My voice was shaky despite my best efforts to maintain my composure.

James scooted away, grabbing Nike to play with. “Joey had a few of us over for poker.”

That’s when I saw it. My eyes got wide—I couldn’t believe what I was looking at.

This isn’t real life. This cannot be happening.

“Why is there lipstick on your face?” I asked, still stunned. I dragged my thumb over my boyfriend’s upper lip, smearing the faint red residue.

My entire body buzzed with fury. I was shaking. I was sweating. I was about to hulk out on that motherfucker.

“I can explain,” he started, his eyes darting around the room.

“Save your fucking breath,” I screamed at the top of my lungs, shooting up from the bed. I dove into the closet to find his big suitcase, ripped that bitch out of the closet at lightning speed, and started to throw all his things into it. “She can have you. You fucking fuck of a fuckhead.”

Lame, I know, but what can I say? I was raging out.

“Babe. Please.” James got up, trying to wrap his arms around me from behind.

I spun on my heels, starting to slap him away. “You don’t get to touch me. Get the hell out of my place!”

“Karla, listen. Please.” He tried to hug me again and punched him in the shoulder, before he could get his arms around my middle.

“I don’t give a rat’s ass what you have to say. You’re a cheat and a liar!” My voice was breaking as I fought through the sobs.

“If you can just write me off so quickly without hearing my side of things, then good-fucking-bye, bitch.” His eyes went cold as his own anger started to build up.

He doesn’t get to be mad at me.

  I am mad.

  Fuck him.

Before I could even think things through, my knee was up and connecting with his crotch. Pow! He was stumbling backward in two seconds flat, hands clutching his pulverized family jewels.

“You goddamned cunt!” He lunged for me, grabbing my hair as I tried to run for the bathroom. I had never seen James this mad in my entire life and for the first time since I’d left my shithole of a foster family, I was legitimately scared of a man.

“Let go of me!” The shrill tone that leapt from my throat could probably be heard on Mars.

  Smack!

My cheek was burning from where his hand had connected with it. Tears immediately stung at my eyes as I held my cheek.

“You damn bastard! How dare you cheat on me and then have the fucking nerve to slap me.” I was flailing around, his fingers still gripping my hair, pulling it so tightly I was positive clumps were ripping out from the roots.

“You’re going to pay for what you did,” he growled, throwing me into the wall.

I fell to the floor, trying to scramble to my feet, but he got to me first.

“Where do you think you’re going?” His voice was cold as his eyes bored holes into me.

His hands wrapped around my neck and he lifted me up off the ground. I was gasping. “James, please,” I barely choked out.

A loud banging came from our front door. “Police! Open up!” It was like an angel had been sent down to save me.

“Keep your fucking mouth shut or you will be sorry,” James hissed into my ear before releasing me.

I stayed frozen in place after my feet touched the ground again and watched as my attacker walked to the door, far too calmly.

“Evening officers,” James said oh so coolly after opening the front door.

Without missing a beat, I yelled. “Help! He’s trying to kill me!” I ran into the living room and out the front door to the protection of two police officers. The younger of the two caught me by the arm, gently pulling me away from James, putting his body between me and the danger that used to be the love of my life.

“Ma’am.” He made sure to make eye contact. “A neighbor called in a disturbance. Did he hit you?”

I couldn’t speak; my eyes kept darting to the glaring eyes only paces away. I was shuddering, tears streaming down my face and neck.

“I’m Officer Whistler. You’re safe now. Can you tell me your name?”

I blinked frantically as I begged for words to break through. I watched as James started to lose his even temper.

“What the fuck?” he yelled. “I didn’t touch her.”

“Sir, I am not going to ask you again to calm down.” The other officer had his hand on James’ chest, keeping him from taking the step forward that he was trying for.

“M-My name is Karla McAdams,” I finally blurted out. “And yes, he attacked me.”

Officer Whistler’s entire face frowned as he started to lead me to the stairs, turning back quickly to look at his partner. “Cuff him.”

James started to protest, balling his hands into fists.

“Karla, why don’t I get you back into your apartment.” The dogs were barking their heads off, and it wasn’t until that moment that I realized they had been freaking the fuck out the entire time the whole situation unfolded.

“My dogs!” I cried out. I needed to calm them down. I knew all my neighbors had probably been woken up by now and it was three in the damn morning.

How fucking embarrassing is this shit?

I dove into my apartment right as the officers were both telling James to turn around and put his hands behind his back. He kept resisting and yelling back at them. I watched from the peephole with my dogs in my arms as Officer Whistler wrestled James to the ground, kneeling on his back to click the handcuffs around his wrists. James continued to hoot and holler as the other cop walked him to the stairwell.

Officer Whistler knocked on my door. Even though I watched him do it, I still jumped when I heard the tapping.

“Yes?” I asked, opening the door to the kind man.

“Would you mind coming down to the station and filling out a report?”

I set the dogs down, grabbing my bag and keys from the counter where they lay next to the unopened bottle of red wine. “Sure.”

“I’ll see you down there.” He pursed his lips together, started to back away, and then hesitated. “Karla?” His voice was low and even.

“Yes?” I stared blankly at him, trying to wrap my head around everything that had just happened. In seconds my life had gone from my kind of perfect to a living nightmare.

“You’re going to be all right. I promise.” He bowed his head, starting to make his way to the stairs. “Give us a ten-minute head start.”

  Chapter 4

  Brayden

“Hey, My! How’re you feeling?” I took a seat in the uncomfortable plastic chair next to Myla’s hospital bed.

Her baby blues fluttered open as a strained smile slowly spread across chapped lips. “Like I got hit by a truck.” She half coughed, half laughed at her stupid joke.

“Physical therapy is starting today.” I grabbed her hand as fear took over her eyes.

She propped herself up on her elbow. “They’re going to make me fucking walk, Bray.”

I hated seeing how terrified my sister was to get back on her feet. “They’re going to teach you how to use crutches. You can’t put weight on that leg yet.”

“No walking yet.” A huge man was standing in the doorway, his dark complexion a stark contrast to his shining grin as he made his way into the room. “I’m Darren and I’ll be doing your physical therapy today. How’re you feeling, Myla?”

“I’m ready to get this done.” Even though her voice was still weak and the pain medication was messing with her, Myla put on the bravest face she could. I had to hand it to my little sister—she made me damn proud to be her brother.

“That’s the spirit,” I whispered before kissing her on the cheek and getting up to leave her to do the exercises.

It was always bittersweet to l
eave her, but I knew it was easier for her to not have me around. In a medicated rant, right after she had first woken up in critical care, Myla had cried to me, explaining that every time she saw the sadness in my eyes, she remembered how fucked up she actually was. When I wasn’t there, she could pretend like it wasn’t as bad as it actually was. I never was one to let fantasy cloud reality, but if it allowed Myla to find the strength to get better and press on, then I was all for it.

I stood in the doorway for a few seconds to make sure Darren was going to be just as nice when I wasn’t in the room. That was one thing that worried me—Myla was defenseless in this state, and if I wasn’t around, who was going to protect her?

Myla pulled up on the grab bar that hung above her bed, and my heart ached as she cried out in pain. Darren was gentle with her, getting down to eye level and talking her through each movement she needed to make.

Once I felt assured she was in capable hands, I made my way to practice. I was running late—again—and Coach was going to have a damn field day with my ass. He knew what was going on with Myla and everything, but in his mind, the team came first. Usually, I would have agreed, but not when it came to my family. Nothing would ever come before Myla. She was all I had left and I would hang up my skates and stick before I would ever let anything happen to her again.

The blades of my skates crashed onto the ice as I joined my teammates in the barn.

“Well, look who finally decided to grace us with his presence,” Gavin said with a snicker, skating by me.

  “Cox!” Coach Hayes yelled.

I skated over to the bench. “Yeah, Coach?”

He threw his clipboard down on the ground. “I thought we were past this damn showing up to practice whenever you fucking feel like it bullshit. This isn’t the minor leagues, rookie. I have half a mind to let you collect dust all damn season.”

“Myla is going to be discharged from the hospital this week. I promise this is the last time it will happen.”
