Review: 8 stars out of 10

Kathryn Meyer Griffith’s Scraps of Paper is an engaging story of what happens when you go digging into the past and the possible consequences. It also has an underlying story about dealing with what life hands you and finding the strength to move on. Both Frank and Abby are strong characters that have had to deal with the loss of a loved one and to learn to deal with that loss. You find yourself drawn to them and to all the quirky people who live in the little town of Spookie. In the end you want to know what happened in the old house so many years earlier. I’ll be looking forward to more books about this quaint little town.

“This novel is a most enjoyable read. It is suspenseful, richly detailed, timeless, and keeps you guessing until the very end. I look forward to reading more of Kathryn Meyer Griffith’s work in the future, particularly further entries in this series, including the already-published second novel, All Things Slip Away. This novel earns an enthusiastic five tentacles from this reviewer!”

“I have read other books by Kathryn Meyer Griffith and enjoyed them. I was glad this book only had the faintest touch of the paranormal, perhaps just fate, that drew Abigail to the strange little town called Spooky. I enjoyed the pace and tone of this novel, but most of all I liked the picture the author drew with her words, the picture of a small town, an old house, a woman struggling to start life anew, and the man she meets. This was a clean, interesting, well fleshed out story with a satisfying conclusion. I listened to the audio book as I read, a feature called Whispersync, and I must say, Wendy Tremont King was just perfect as the narrator. My attention never drifted from her story telling, and she was easy to follow. I look forward to the next book in the series.”

“This is a tense, sometimes scary, and excellent mystery, and I would recommend it to mystery fans. Good book! I could hardly put it down.”

“The story was well written. It held my interest and I kept reading to see how the story ended. This was one of the very few mystery stories that I could not solve the mystery before the author did.”

“I read a lot of mysteries and this tops my list as far as favorites. I enjoyed the unusual story line. I fell in love with Jenny, Chris and Emily and truly didn't know what happened to them for a good long while. When you did find out it blew my mind and made for an incredible story. I don't like spoilers but this book is a must read. Abigail is a very complex character who I fell in love with immediately and I rooted for her and her many new adventures. I can't wait to read the next book.”
