“See what I mean,” Greta laughed. “It’s not even July for Christ sake, and speaking of Christ, that is who the holiday is for, to allegedly celebrate the birth of a spiritual master, when in reality, it is an excuse for merchants to cash in. To think that an economy even in part, can be based on the birth of a person who lived and preached a message that is the complete opposite of what the holiday has become is sad at best.”
“You have many holidays indeed.”
“Do you celebrate holidays on your world?” Greta asked.
“There are many celebrations.”
Greta heard her phone ringing. She walked to the bedroom, unplugged it from the charger and answered it. “Ciao, boutique del goddess del sesso, posso aitarlo?”
“Greta ish that you?” Abigail laughed.
“Si.”
“We are going to hit the shity within the hour, where do you want to meet?”
“Would you like to stay here at my mom’s house for the weekend, there’s plenty of room?” Greta asked.
“Wow, could I?” Abigail replied. “That would be sho aweshome.” “Nanshy is going to shtay with her boyfriend and he is taking her back down to shchool, sho I guessh it will jusht be me.”
Greta gave her instructions on how to get to her mom’s house. “If you have any questions on how to get here when you get closer, call me.”
“Thanksh,” Abigail said and hung up.
“Come on honey,” Greta said, “I could use one of your showers.” Valia joined her in the shower and around her neck for another of the showers that Greta found herself getting addicted to.
After showering, she got dressed in a fresh pair of shorts and tank top. “Valia, can you consume in your present state?”
“Yes,” Valia replied. “Theoretically this is not a body, but I can taste and feel in my present state.”
“Great,” Greta said, removing Valia from her neck and placing her once again in the pouch then into her purse. “You’re in for a special treat.”
Greta left the house and walked to the corner where there was a Starbucks. She ordered two lattes with extra shots, extra hot, paid and returned home to wait for Abigail. “Speaking of insane, we pay a small fortune for these drinks that taste good, pick us up for a brief time, then drop us back down only to return again.”
Once inside she removed Valia from her purse and placed her around her neck. “Here, watch it, it’s hot.”
Valia took a sip. “It is good.”
“Yes, it is good,” Greta replied, with a widening grin on her face.
They sat around discussing the differences and interests between their two worlds over Valia’s first coffee, Valia’s first very strong coffee. It seemed bizarre to Greta, but the coffee seemed to be having an uplifting effect on her.
“We have arts as do you,” Valia offered. “Visual arts, literary arts, music, acting, your equivalent of television but artistic, no selling.”
“I feel like I have known you my entire life,” Greta said. “From the very first sound of your voice in my head, I have had such a strong sense of déjà vu.”
“Déjà vu?” Valia asked.
“I believe the definition of it is the illusion of having previously experienced something or someone.” Greta replied. “Who knows, I might wake up and still be on that blanket with Rose having dreamt all this time spent with you.”
“I am as real as you.” Valia replied. “I simply no longer have a body.”
“I hope your people take their sweet time getting here,” Greta smiled.
Greta’s phone rang. “Greta, I am right out in front of your houshe,” Abigail said. “I think I turned down the wrong one way shtreet because I dropped Nanshy off at the Century Mall where she was going to meet her boyfriend.”
Greta walked to the door and opened it turning off her phone. “You could have honked,” she laughed. She walked up to the car and gave her directions to the garage behind her home. Greta lived in such a heavily populated neighborhood; street parking was very hard to come by indeed. She then walked to the back of the house to meet Abigail.
“Valia, you know what you helped me do for Clarissa on the train?” Greta asked.
“Yes.”
“Would it be possible to do something similar for Abigail ridding her of her heavy lisp, and making her forget she ever had it?”
Abigail honked as she pulled into the garage. She had a huge grin on her face.
“I mean look at that beautiful face, isn’t there something we can do?
There was a long silence
“Honey I am so happy you decided to come.”
“Today wasz one of the mosht aweshome daysh of my life, you have shuch a beautiful car and shuch fabuloush mushical tashte,” Abigail said. “Time jusht flew by coming here.”
Yes, Valia finally answered. I had to hear her again, but yes.
“Honey I am going to put you in the spare bedroom which is nicer and more comfortable than my room that’s for sure.”
“I have to ushe the bathroom.” Abigail said.
“Oh sure, it’s right over here my dear.”
When she closed the door behind her, Greta removed Valia from her pocket and put her around her neck. “Let’s do it now Valia, ok,” she asked before kissing her smiling face.
“Yes.”
When Abigail came out of the bathroom they went to work, first getting her to take a seat on the couch before making the necessary behavioral modifications for her lisp to disappear, and for her to not remember that she’d been lisping her entire life. When they were finished they moved to the kitchen and released Abigail. Valia kissed Greta before she removed her and placed her in the pouch in her pocket once again. I am getting tired of not having you here visually all the time, Greta thought.
“Abigail, would you like a pop or water, coffee, tea?” Greta shouted.
She walked into the kitchen. “Do you have anything like a diet 7-up?” she asked. I don’t know what it is about driving that makes me so thirsty.”
She’s talking clearer, sharper and sexier than a newscaster, Valia you are out of this world, Greta thought. She heard a giggle.
“I do have a diet 7-up.”
“Looking at your coffee table I’d say you’ve had your fill of Starbucks for the day,” Abigail laughed.
“I want to take you out to a club tonight, are you up for it?”
“Oh yeah, I would love to stretch after that ride and do a little dancing.”
“Well me casa, su casa,” Greta laughed. “Whatever you want just help yourself.”
“Just a shower before I get ready to go out, which may have to be soon it takes so long to dry this hair.” Abigail had hair down to her mid back.
Greta showed her where everything was that she might need to get the shower out of the way.
Valia, how are you able to help us so easily? Greta thought.
My species is older and more evolved, it is that simple.
You know Abigail looks and sounds so confident I don’t think I will have to do a thing to get her laid, Greta giggled.
We altered memory and a behavioral trait only, Valia replied. She is still the same person.
Greta walked to her bedroom and picked out an outfit for the evening, a deep red summer dress that reached to mid calf, and a pair of flats.
Abigail finished her shower and joined Greta in the living room sitting on the couch. “I feel so refreshed,” Abigail said. “You have a romantic shower.”
Greta looked at her with a surprised look on her face. “A romantic shower?”
“Yes, as a matter of fact it was so overwhelming that I masturbated in the shower.”
Greta let out a loud “Haaaaaaaaa.” Valia did you have anything to do with that?
On my world we call them mackchas, Valia replied. They are impressions derived by our experiences that form desires that influence responses. Abigail was simply responding to the mackchas we left there.
And very strong mackchas they are ind
eed, she giggled in thought.
They sat around enjoying each other’s company for a while. There was time to kill since Greta did not like to make it to clubs til after midnight. She ordered some Thai food for a late dinner. Valia remarked that so far, Thai food was the closest she had seen to food that one might find on her world.
“Abigail, you probably don’t make it to Chicago often, how about a convertible tour of the city lights before we head to a club?” Greta asked.
“Thanks for the offer I would love it, that is if I don’t have to drive.”
This tour is for you as well Valia darling. Greta thought. “Great, why don’t we get dressed and head out,” Greta smiled. “I think I am going to take us to Excalibur, it being a Friday night. It lacks the urban upscale ambience deserving of us,” she said in a British accent.
Abigail laughed and went to get dressed.
I wish you were getting dressed and that I could show you off tonight, Greta thought.
If only, Valia replied as if cutting off a thought.
Greta pulled her hair back into a ponytail, and started with her makeup. She then put on her clothes and reached into the pocket of the shorts she was wearing, removed Valia, and held her in her hand. She was standing next to the dresser gazing at Greta in the mirror. “This will have to last for the entire evening,” Greta said softly kissing her deeply.” She then reached for the bottle of Allure perfume on her dresser and sprayed some on Valia. When she did she saw thousands of tiny perfume particles glowing brightly before slowly disappearing. “At least I will be able to smell you.” She said.
Greta heard Abigail walking down the hall and removed Valia, placing her in the pouch, then into a passport carrier that had elastic straps and could be worn around a limb securely. I will be dancing, and I wouldn’t want to lose you, Greta thought as she slid the secure carrier up her leg to where it could not be seen.
I hope you don’t get too hot up there, Greta giggled in thought before opening her bedroom door and walking to the living room.
How could I not? Valia replied.
“Abigail you look so incredibly sexy.”
“I bet you say that to all the girls,” Abigail replied. “You look and smell fabulous yourself.”
“Some of my friends have told me this is an older woman’s perfume, but I like it.” Greta checked the doors to make sure they were double locked, left a few lights on and led the way out the back door to the garage. She lowered the top and backed the car out, smiling at the blanket she had found Valia nestled in, still in the back seat.
She gave them a quick tour of the ‘Boys Town’ neighborhood she lived in, then along the lakefront to the near north and downtown areas pointing out places that she took for granted, but Abigail found fascinating. As the clock approached midnight, Greta headed for Excalibur. It was a fine club to dance the night away in, especially with Valia nestled between her inner thighs.
“Are you ok down there? Greta thought. Abigail was just taking in all the scenes and admiring them in one of those shared silence moments.
I am.
Greta decided to use a valet parking lot. The last thing she wanted was to have her car towed. She raised the top before parking. They strolled to the club, and entered. Abigail ordered drinks for the both of them, saying it was the least she could do for Greta’s kindness.
“Do you dance?” Greta asked.
“Yes, but alone usually.”
“You know, my friend Jamina said she only danced alone until she had a sex change,” Greta said.
They started with a few drinks at the bar. The bartenders in the club were always so friendly. Greta thought Abigail looked very sexy in the club lighting. The place was really starting to fill up. Towards the end of her second drink, Greta heard one of her favorite songs starting, so she took Abigail by the hand and walked her out on to the dance floor. There were so many songs that moved Greta to the point of singing or dancing, but Regret by New Order got her going every time.
This is one of my favorite songs, Greta thought.
Greta was surprised to see how well Abigail danced as she sang along to the song. “I was upset you see, Almost all the time, You used to be a stranger, Now you are mine.” When Greta glanced to her right she saw a gorgeous Asian girl REALLY checking out Abigail dancing.
I knew it would happen Valia darling, Greta thought. Abigail now has so much confidence and sex appeal she is going to start attracting them like a magnet.
She is a beautiful woman.
Greta continued singing, “I was a short fuse, Burning all the time, You were a complete stranger, Now you are mine.” When the song ended and they headed back to their drinks, she noticed that the Asian girl was standing at the bar.
Taking a sip from her drink, Greta announced that she had to go to the bathroom. She didn’t really, but what better way for these two beauties to strike up a conversation than to be alone. She strolled over to the stairway leading down to the ladies room. Once inside she entered a stall and closed the door. How you hanging in there Valia my dear? she thought. I wish you were visible here with me.
I am closer to you than anyone you can see. Valia giggled.
She finished up in the bathroom, and slowly strolled back to the bar where she had left Abigail and her drink. Not seeing Abigail there she assumed that she was on the dance floor. She sat down and asked for another, final drink. She did not want to wake up with a hangover and a wedding to go to later in the day.
“Greta?” the bartender asked.
“Yes?”
“Your friends asked me to tell you they will be waiting for you in the VIP room,” he said. “It’s up the stairs and to the right.”
She gave him a tip and left the bar, making her way up the staircase to the second floor. So what’s your favorite nightclub on your world? Greta thought.
Roughly translated it’s called Vapor. Valia giggled. The music is much different, but conducive to getting one moving.
Abigail greeted Greta at the velvet rope to the VIP room. “Honey there’s someone I’d like you to meet,” she said. “Greta, this is Mya, Mya, Greta.”
“Hello, it’s a pleasure,” Greta smiled. “I feel so privileged, the VIP room.”
Mya laughed, “Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the crowd.
Greta did not want to impose on their time together, and after introductions left the room saying she wanted to check out the place. She noticed someone on the dance floor from pre-college days. Whoever was playing the music was spinning many of Greta’s favorites. She saw Abigail and Mya heading down the stairway to join the crowd on the dance floor. Seeing that she headed back to the VIP room. There were just a few people sitting around with one corner of the room empty. I have to have at least one dance with you, Greta thought taking a seat far away from the others. Trying not to be noticed reaching up her skirt, she removed Valia from the carrier and placed her around her neck. “Can I have this dance?” she asked.
Valia was standing facing her. An old Simple Minds song started. Greta grabbed Valia by the hand and started softly singing as they moved rhythmically together. “Won’t you come see about me, I’ll be alone dancing you know it baby, Tell me your troubles and doubts, Giving me everything inside and out and, Love’s strange so real in the dark, Think of the tender things that we’ve been working on.”
They moved together closely, their bodies often touching, which became a slow dance with Greta singing softly in her ear, “As you walk on by, Will you call my name, As you walk on by, Will you call my name, When you walk away?” It was at the La la lyric that they fell onto the sofa and began passionately making out like two schoolgirls in heat. When Greta finally came up for air she noticed that Abigail was back in her seat with Mya. She kissed Valia again, removed her from her neck, and quickly replaced her around her thigh. She called out to Abigail, “Hey, you’re back.”
“Greta, I didn’t see you back there when we came in,” she replied. “Honey, I am going to leave with Mya,
then pick up an outfit early to wear to the wedding, do you mind?”
“Of course not, Abigail she is gorgeous,” Greta giggled.
“Would you mind if I brought her with me to the wedding?”
Greta hugged her and replied, “Honey not at all. Will you have a ride there then, do you need directions, if you do call me tomorrow?”
“ I am sure I will, but I’ll call you anyway,” Abigail replied rolling her eyes with a huge grin on her face before walking back over to Mya.
Greta said her goodbyes and left the bar. She collected her car and drove to a large dark parking lot along the lakefront where couples came to be together. She parked the car, rolled up all of the windows, placed Valia around her neck, and they made love together in the back seat of her car. When they were lying in each others arms once finished, a flashlight shone inside the windows that were fogged up from their passion. It was the police, who would make the rounds every hour or so asking people to leave because the park was closed. They saw nothing inside and left. Greta thought it best to get dressed and call it a night. She did not have the energy to talk, or even think someone out of her car being towed.
Her mother was already sleeping when she got home. She quietly made her way into her room, locked the door, removed all her clothes and placed Valia around her neck, who joined her in bed. Greta slipped into a deep sleep in her arms.
Chapter 8
I Do
Her telephone ringing woke Greta. “Hello,” she answered eyes half closed.
“Rise and shine,” Rose said. “Are you able to pick me up today?
“Sure what time should I be there?”
“If you get here by one we can easily make it there by two,” Rose replied.
“One it is then, smooches.” She hung up the phone and tossed on a pair of shorts with a pocket and a large t-shirt, kissed Valia good morning and took her off, slipping her into the pouch and into her pocket. Tacked to her door was a note from her mother that read, “I hope I get to see my only daughter before she leaves, Had a day planned with Jack, See you tomorrow.”
“Love you mommy,” she smiled.
