“That’s why I have you my nigga.” Binx said to Tef slapping hands.

“One hunnid!” Tef said accepting the bottle from Styles and taking a swig. “You want me to find that broad and knock her ass off too?”

“Yeah do that or better yet keep ya hands clean and hire somebody… be a boss.” Binx said throwing the stacks inside the bag and giving it to Tef. Binx stretched and walked Tef and Styles to the door. He needed to get on the street and make sure everything was secure in case they were going to war. Mallory made herself obvious when she left the hospital, paid his boys of, and then promised some of his hard earned product when the Coca Leaf Boys had birds by the flock.

Tef and Styles chunked the deuces and jumped in Tef’s pearl black Charger. They then peeled off out of the driveway with Lil Boosie blasting through the speakers. Binx closed and locked the door, he went back in the kitchen to pack the remainder of the money. Twenty or so minutes passed when Binx heard the doorbell ring. It felt awkward because nobody came over unannounced to his house so he grew suspicious. He went upstairs to grab his AK and look out the window. Once he realized who vehicle was in the yard he felt at ease and put the weapon on the bed.

Binx ran down the stairs and opened the door to four quick blows to his head. Instantly he was dizzy and stumbling like a character being dominated on mortal kombat in ‘finish him’ mode. Binx couldn’t shake back quick enough before two more blows rammed into his sides like a Mack Truck. Binx’s vision was blurry, but he knew this couldn’t have been his sweet beloved.

Mallory really became the art of his demise and he didn’t know he would be betrayed by her to this degree. The blows to his head caused him to temporarily go deaf and he didn’t hear the bullet load in the chamber. Binx’s body dropped with six bullets; mouth, neck, penis and three times in his chest. Messiah took off back to the car and sped off the property once on the main highway he placed a call to Mallory.

  “Hey!” She answered.

  “It’s done.” Messiah said.

“I’ll be wiring the money first thing in the morning, but after confirmation,” Mallory said.

Messiah hung up and drove to his East Coast man pad to swap out cars in the condo’s parking garage. When he got there, he went into the gym to shower and dress. Looking at his watch, Tiffany should be at the cleaners and waiting on him though they were mad with one another their unconditional love kept them together.

Tiffany didn’t have to worry anymore about running around because he’d closed the case for them. Messiah wanted to buy Tiffany a ring and propose on his birthday, and the sooner Mallory pay them he was booking them a flight out to the most authentic beach money can buy.

  ************

Tiffany finished running her pants in the washer and then placed them in the dryer so that Ms. Anna could press them. She thought she had a change of clothes in her office, but she didn’t. Looking at her phone she waited on Messiah’s call or his arrival, but it was taking him pretty long to get there. When he called her earlier saying to meet at the cleaners she was puzzled, but she’d already been there before he called. Tiffany wondered if Messiah knew about the Tom situation or if he had a better solution than hers about this Binx situation.

Ms. Anna finished pressing Tiffany’s pants and she was as good as she looked when she stepped out the door earlier. Binx came to her mind again thinking about how well mannered he was especially with his tongue game. She knew she would have to suggest pulling off a decoy; get paid, and then murk Mallory because honestly Binx was a good person. Tiffany dialed Messiah’s number and he finally answered. “I’m on my way, love,” he said into the phone.

“Okay.” Then hung up the phone.

“Where you two going next?”Ms. Anna asked.

  “I don’t’ know,” Tiffany replied.

Messiah walked into the cleaners and looked at Tiffany. He could tell that something heavy was on her mind, if it was Binx, she no longer needed to worry because he was a done dollar. “Tiffany we need to talk in the office.” Tiffany looked at Ms. Anna and then followed him.

Ms. Anna could tell that this new client that hired them for this job had caused something to happen that would be hard to repair. Ms. Anna was a firm believer in the saying “real love can stand the test of time”. What she didn’t know was if she could handle the outcome of this shit here. They didn’t let her in on much, but she was a great judge of character and excellent at reading body language.

Messiah set at his desk looking at Tiffany “The job is over,” he stated.

“We need this money! How can you just end it like that after all the shit we been through these past few days?” Tiffany hated how he always tried to call the shots.

“We made the money,” Messiah stated coolly.

“How? You fuck the bitch and she gave you the rest?” Tiffany asked voice dripping with sarcasm, but she definitely wanted to know the answer.

“No unlike miss “I woke up getting my pussy ate”, I finished the job for my pay.” He stated coldly and it hurt Tiffany’s soul.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU FINISHED IT?” Tiffany yelled.

“The nigga is history, what we were hired to do,” Messiah stated.

“We are pawns in this bitch’s game. She is after you and now that you have hurt Binx-- all she have to do is get rid of me. Where was he when you hurt him?” The way she asked made Messiah wonder if she had feelings for Binx.

“Why? You weren’t hired to worry about him.” Messiah was up on his feet now with a mean look on his face.

“You was not hired to lie to me either but you did. I will find him myself.” Tiffany turned on her heels and was out the door.

“Fuck!” Messiah knocked all the shit off his desk and Ms. Anna came rushing in.

“Cool down.” Ms. Anna said with her hands stretched out.

“She gone play me like this?” Messiah asked himself, he was hurt.

“You lied… so you played your damn self-boy.” Ms. Anna said keeping it real.

“I was trying to get this money and be done with it, but no she talking about this nigga like she care about him,” he fussed.

“Did you ever think there was more to this story, love?” Ms. Anna was speaking the truth.

“I did but I ignored it.” Messiah confessed.

“Sometimes we gamble with the wrong things.” Ms. Anna said walking out of the office.

Messiah sat back in his seat knowing he was dead ass wrong about the way he handled this shit from the jump. Now he had to let the chips fall where they may, but one thing he know was if his woman get hurt in anyway Mallory would pay. Something told him that she was already hurt more than he would ever know.

  Chapter Twelve

Tiffany drove like a bat out of hell to Binx’s trap house. It felt like the day her father was killed a murder that was based on greed not disloyalty. She hated people that would get rid of others for their own personal gain. That was the reason she was left as a parentless child.

Tiffany honestly didn’t know that Messiah would move like this he just ran with this info that Mallory gave him. That pissed Tiffany off because to her that meant that he still had a sweet spot for the bitch. She was going to see if she could save Binx’s life, but Mallory’s ass is dead.

Tiffany whipped in the driveway of his trap house spotting two cars, she parked next to his. The front door to the house opened as she jumped out the whip. The two men looked at her, but one looked at her like he knew her. She ignored his look because she had her baby to air his ass out if he started tripping.

“Is he ok?” Tiffany asked, Binx was bleeding like crazy.

“Who the hell are you?” Tef asked.

Binx’s hearing came back once he saw Tiffany and it gave him strength to hold on and fight for his life. “Man you can talk to that bitch later get him in the fucking car now.” Styles yelled.

Messiah was pulling up to the place he had just caused mayhem. He seen the two men loading Binx in the car and noticed Tiffa
ny hopped in hers and followed behind them. Messiah knew that shit was real and he couldn’t believe that he allowed this shit to get this far out of hand. He knew that he couldn’t go to the hospital so he was gone fall back knowing that Tiffany would be home sooner or later.

Messiah picked up his phone as he entered the car “We need to talk,” he told Mallory.

“You know where I am.” Mallory thought shit was going as planned but she never imagined that it would be this fucked up. She lay in bed trying to figure how she would get rid of Tiffany now that Binx was out of the way. Mallory decided she would pull the plug on her father, and offer Messiah the key to his empire. She knew that he was capable of running it just as her father did. Upon her dad’s last day of speaking he asked her to find Messiah to run it all, and that’s all her heart desired. Mallory’s father wanted to leave Messiah in charge, but she wanted to use that to her advantage in having Messiah as her man.

Mallory hated to admit that she knew even if Messiah took the job or not it wouldn’t make him her man. So she came up with this little plan to make him hers and act like she was giving him something but the truth is, it was already his. Once her father is buried her family will be paid off and whoever he left in his will becomes the boss and her father had no son. Mallory felt if it wasn’t for her Messiah and her dad would have never met each other so she should get something out of the deal. All she really wanted was him, she had money all her life and for real she was sick of it she wanted Messiah’s love.

  *********

Messiah climbed the steps two at time he was pissed with all the stupid shit that was going on. He wished that he was at home smoking a blunt and getting his dick sucked. Shit was so fucked up that, that wouldn’t be happening for some time now! He couldn’t wait for all this shit to be over, he entered the house and Mallory was in the bed sleeping. She looked beautiful and peaceful under the bruises that were still visible. The sight of her made him wonder for the first time what would life had been if he had forgiven her. Messiah really didn’t have a right to play her like he did. He just loved Tiffany’s gangsta as where Mallory was a spoiled rich college girl. Yet she was always good to him even her family loved him especially Mal’s dad because Messiah would never take his handouts he wanted his own shit.

Mallory’s dad admired that about him and it wasn’t that Messiah had too much pride he didn’t like to owe a man anything. He was guilty about being stubborn and a grudge holder even when it was his fault of their break up. Messiah was dead ass wrong for cheating on Mallory for no reason but he was only being a man. Shaking his head and reminiscing, he realized it was too late to turn back now. Messiah looked up to see Mallory staring at him.

“What’s the matter?” She knew that something was wrong.

“Nothing.” Messiah use to share everything with her, but Tiffany took her place so it didn’t feel right talking to her about how he felt.

“Mess!” Mallory called him that whenever he was making a mess of his life.

He looked at her cause the name took him back and he hadn’t heard it in a while and right now the name fit. Shit was all messed up. “I’m sorry,” he managed to say.

  “About what?” she was lost.

“For cheating on you. I just didn’t feel that me and you were from the same world so you would never understand my life or my struggle so I found Tiffany. She’s from the hood and we just work well together, I’m sorry.” Messiah felt so good to say that.

“She from the hood, what makes you think that?” Mallory was glad that Tiffany never told Messiah who she really was.

“Yes she don’t come from money we worked for everything we have.” Messiah said with a confused look on his face due to Mallory’s last words.

“You worked hard, but she comes from money… big money,” Mallory added.

“What the fuck are you talking about?” Messiah was now on his feet; all these head games were driving him mad. Tiffany didn’t have any fucking money.

“Ruse’s that ring a bell?” Mallory asked. Messiah’s eyes grew wide because that was his boss that was killed when he was fourteen. That man was the Don around town, he was loaded until the day a muthafucka ran up in his crib killing him and his wife. He left behind a daughter, but Messiah never met the man’s daughter. He remembered the man would joke that if he kept the hard work up he would be a great man for his daughter when she was of age.

Messiah was a shy dude at that age so he would just laugh and do his job. He was eating and living good until the dark day that his boss got killed. After that Messiah hustled and became a trained killer. Domiano was fair to all of his workers so for someone to air him out, meant it could only be out of greed.

“That was my fucking boss, you know that?” Messiah said sick to his stomach.

“That’s her father.” Mallory told him. She knew this because the Ruse’s were the reason her family was able to eat. Tiffany’s dad brought Mallory’s dad over here from Cuba and helped him build a name for himself and a find place to put his family. Tiffany knew Mallory’s father as Uncle Jesus.

Mallory didn’t disclose to Messiah that Tiffany didn’t know Jesus Cocaleaf was the same man that took her father out. Jesus didn’t care how much love Tiffany’s dad had shown him he wanted to be the big man at any cost. That was the reason that Mallory’s father loved Messiah so much he reminded him of his old friend/ally Domiano Ruse. After Tiffany’s father death Jesus never forgave himself for allowing greed to get in his way.

“WHAT?” Messiah said, he couldn’t believe that Domiano was her father, yet he never asked who her father was he just knew that her family was murdered.

“Yes my father took over after his old friend caught the bad end of the stick.” Messiah was fucked up behind what she just disclosed to him.

“Mallory, why did you really hire me?” he asked.

“Because I am in love with you and now that you know the truth, is Tiffany any different from me?” she asked.

“Yes,” he answered obviously aggravated and pissed.

“How, because she lied about who she was and I didn’t?” Mallory asked. Messiah thought about her question and she had a point, but she and Tiffany were not the same. “No she just don’t move the way you do,” he stated.

“Where is Tiffany now?” Mallory asked him.

“She at the hospital with Binx. He lived. When I went to handle him I was in my feeling and didn’t do the shit right,” Messiah confessed. “Mallory I got to go.”

“Wait… he’s dying and left everything to you it’s in his will,” Mallory confessed, and her words caused him to stop in his tracks.

“What’s the fucking catch, I gotta marry you?” he asked.

“No it’s yours the moment he hits the ground,” she replied. “I wish you wanted me, but I can see that’s not the case huh?” Mallory said with a face that displayed bruises and sadness.

“My life is different, I have changed I am not the man you use to love or that use to love you. We were always worlds apart and we are so far apart now.” he said, and then her to her thoughts.

“Yes you are the man I loved all my life you just don’t know it yet!” Mallory shouted.

Mallory knew that it was time to pull the plug even though she wasn’t ready yet her time was up and if Tiffany was who the world says she was she would be coming for Mallory soon. Mallory called her sister “Send a car for Mama.” Melinda knew what that meant, she knew that it was time to close this chapter of their life and hand over the title.

  Chapter Thirteen

Tiffany sat in the waiting area with Tef and Styles waiting on an update from the doctors about Binx’s condition. Three to four hours passed and Tiffany found herself entrapped in thoughts of Binx. The night ride on his bike was memorable and the morning after wasn’t so bad either. Since leaving his crib she couldn’t help but thinking about his massive home and bed. Tiffany stood, stretched, and then went outside the hospital. She didn’t understand why she was here and not with Mes
siah. She grabbed her cell phone and called Messiah to see where he was and on the third ring he answered. “What?”

“What the fuck is your problem answering me like that?” Tiffany asked, extremely disgusted.

“My problem, no what’s your problem?” Messiah asked. “You still with that nigga?” he asked.

“What do you think? If you would have told me what the fuck you was doing-“Messiah cut her off.

“Bring yo’ ass to me, I’m in the parking lot,” he said, and then hung up. Tiffany looked at the phone and then looked back to make sure Binx’s homeboys weren’t spying on her. They’ve been eyeing her down since she showed up. Tiffany walked over to the parking lot and looked for Messiah’s car when she noticed he blinked the headlights. When she walked up on the car she could smell the strong smell of ganja so she knew he was blowing trees. Tiffany shook her head at his sloppy ass and got in on the passenger side.
