Crystal Muse: Everyday Rituals to Tune In to the Real You has been designed just for you. Within these pages, we are going to show you practical ways to tap into your highest potential. How? With crystals, of course!
Each chapter offers a series of simple rituals that you can use to help transform your life. These rituals reflect years of study and hands-on experience with some of Earth’s most magical gifts. These are the formulas that have worked best for us. Once you become familiar with the stones, you may want to come up with some rituals of your own. Always trust your intuition and inner guidance. Remember, you know yourself better than anyone.
Think of this as a crystal recipe book—one that you can skim through or read cover to cover. Scan through the chapter titles, and if one of them catches your eye, take note. It may be your higher self calling out to you to investigate the ritual, or perhaps your curiosity is prompting you to read more.
Timmi and I are thrilled to share some of our adventures with you. From the beginning of our business, Energy Muse, we have had different roles. I’ve been in charge of the crystal expertise and creative side of things, while Timmi has been in charge of production and operations. While my voice will be your guide throughout this book, it is our journeys together that have been the privilege of a lifetime. We hope they will encourage you to delve more deeply into your life so that you may discover ways to live up to your own highest potential.

I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH CRYSTALS FOR OVER 25 YEARS. IN THAT TIME, I HAVE SEEN LIVES TRANSFORMED. I HAVE WATCHED FINANCES AND health improve. I’ve witnessed new romances, the healing of old wounds, and the release of negative belief systems. I’ve even observed women conceiving after years of struggle.
Crystals are an Earth tool. Like a beautiful garden or a glorious beach, crystals can inspire you to slow down and remember your essence. In this busy world, we can sometimes forget all the wonderful things that already exist within us. Working with crystals will help you remember.
Before I began my journey with crystals, I thought I had everything. By conventional standards, I did. I grew up in a small beach town in Southern California. It was an environment filled with free spirits. My parents surrounded themselves with a diverse group of friends, and from a young age I was exposed to an expansive way of thinking. My grandmother would read my tea leaves, and every year I’d get an astrology reading. My mother would clear our house with sage and follow the different stages of the Moon. But even within this open-minded community, I was still never introduced to crystals.
After college, I got my real estate license, and for a long time, life was easy. I had my family, good friends, a house by the beach, money, no commitments—everything I needed. Until one day, I stumbled upon an obscure store that had just opened down the street. Peering into the window, I was confused by the strange objects that I saw. I hesitated to go inside, but curiosity (something I have an abundance of) got the best of me. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt as if I had entered another world—one filled with enchantment, color, wisdom, and most especially, secrets. The shelves were stocked with soaps, oils, and rocks—lots and lots of rocks. I pointed to one and said, “This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
The store owner had heard me. “It’s an Amethyst crystal from Brazil, and it emits a calming energy,” she said. “Pick it up, and hold it in your hands. Feel its vibration.”
I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. Crystals? Energy? Vibration? What did she mean? She must have seen the confused look on my face because before I knew what was happening, she walked over, placed the crystal in my hands, and wrapped my fingers around its cool surface.
“Just feel it,” she said.
So I did. I held it i
n my hands and felt it. Then I picked up another one, and then another, and stayed until the store closed.
From that day on, I began to live a double life. I was a successful real estate agent by day, but all my free time was spent in that little store with the rocks. Something profound was happening within me. It was as if the energy of the crystals was pulling me into their world. I was enchanted by them. At times, I wished I could push pause on my “real life” so that I could spend more time with these incredible rocks.
I had to know more about each one, just as I would a new friend. “Where are you from?” I’d ask. “Brazil? Peru? Madagascar?” The store owner told me that every one of them was unique and emitted a vibrational energy that could act as a tool to awaken, shift, and transform one’s life. But how could a rock do this? And if it were true, why weren’t more people talking about this ancient secret? Although the skeptic in me doubted, the curious researcher in me eventually won out. I purchased a few crystals and placed them around my house.
At first, I just stared at them. But then I began holding my Amethyst before I went to sleep each night. It was as if a little world of energy that I couldn’t see with my naked eye was living inside of it. I became a human sponge, seeking out any information I could find on crystals. I purchased one of the few books that were available at the time and read it cover to cover in a single sitting. The next day, I called the author and asked if she’d be willing to talk to me more about crystals. Within the week, I boarded a plane to the Big Island of Hawaii. My journey with crystals had officially begun.
Soon, working with crystals became all consuming. The money I made selling real estate was invested in traveling across the globe to meet shamans, healers, energy workers, and Feng Shui masters. When my friends asked me to join them on a night out, my standard excuse became, “Sorry, I can’t. I’ve already made plans with my crystals.” Yes, my friends thought I was off my rocker. But I knew the crystals were leading me on a magical journey, and that I was finally feeling fully alive.
Although my journey with crystals has been liberating, empowering, and humbling, it has also been challenging. I started dabbling in the crystal world way before it became mainstream—now you can buy a crystal at Target! I was called everything from a “witch” to a “weirdo.” (Twenty-five years later, people still call me these things, but now that I am older and wiser, I think of them as compliments.)
