Knowing she had to turn off her phone to get through the passport patrol, she checked her text messages one last time. Still nothing from Colin.

Powering down her phone, Josie got in a shorter line designated for passports with a computer chip in it. The process was quick, and she was allowed through the gates without any problems. Baggage claim or reclaim as it was called at Heathrow wasn’t very crowded. Josie spied her bright yellow luggage set right away. Managing to get both bags off quickly, she sailed through customs since she had nothing to declare. Good thing she hadn’t purchased a wedding band for Colin yet.

Butterflies swarmed her stomach as Josie stepped into the arrival hall. She scanned the area, hoping Colin was going to surprise her. The butterflies quickly died down when she spied a beautiful girl wearing a sexy chauffeur uniform and holding a sign with Josie’s name on it. There wasn’t anyone else standing around her, which made it easy to get to her.

“Hey, I’m Josie,” she said, checking out the woman’s long legs that peeked out beneath a very short skirt. Was this Colin’s regular driver? If so, she and her not-yet-fiancé were going to have a little discussion. Why didn’t he have a cultured British guy that was nearing retirement age driving him around?

“Hello, Josie,” the woman said, giving her a white-toothed smile and a wink.

Yeah, Josie and Colin were going to have a BIG talk about his driver.

“Hey,” Josie said again, this time not quite as friendly.

Suddenly, music blared over the intercom. The catchy tune lit up the sexy chauffeur’s eyes, and she flicked the sign with Josie’s name on it like it was a Frisbee and spun around several times in a row until she landed in a man’s arms. The vocals were great, but Josie wasn’t sure it should inspire two strangers to start dancing in a public place.

Stepping back to give them room, Josie was relieved to see Colin’s former driver was wearing black spankies underneath her short skirt as the guy flipped her over his shoulder. A small crowd formed around the dancing couple, their clapping and laughter drowning out the lyrics. Josie picked up a few words, getting the gist of the song was about a man choosing the girl and hoping she wanted him too.

From the corner of her eye, Josie saw a person that looked like a security guard come running toward the couple. She fully expected him to tackle them. Instead, he grabbed a woman standing in the circle by the hand and started dancing with her. When a few more random people joined in the choreographed dance, Josie got a funny feeling inside her stomach. She listened carefully to the lyrics and the vocalist, realizing the singer sounded an awful lot like Colin.

Her bottom lip started to quiver as she focused on the words.

“I see you across a crowded room and the glitter around me fades. Fame, fortune and fancy things no longer hold their appeal. You’re all I see. You’re all I want. You take my breath away.”

More people joined in on the dance until at least twenty people were dancing. Josie had always wanted to see a flash mob in real life, and now here she was right in the middle of one.

That funny feeling expanded until her chest felt like it couldn’t contain her heart anymore as one of the male dancers came forward and took Josie by the hand, leading her onto the floor. As if someone had pushed a button to set everything in slow motion, the dancers parted and a man stood there singing along with the music. No, it wasn’t just any man. It was Colin.

Josie’s hand shook as she covered her mouth, her vision going blurry from the rush of tears. She blinked rapidly, not wanting to miss a single moment. Suddenly, he stood in front of her, that smile she'd missed so much spread across his handsome face. Looking at her with complete love and adoration, Colin sang the final lines of the song as he got down on one knee.

“Call it luck or destiny that brought you into my life. Either way, I knew you were the one. The girl made just for me. You’re all I see. You’re all I want. Say yes and be my wife.”

Josie struggled to breathe as Colin produced a black ring box with the lid open. Sitting nestled in the black silky fabric was the ring she’d picked out with Colin when they barely knew each other. A sob mingled with a laugh escaped through her trembling lips. He’d bought her the ring, and she knew it was with money he’d earned.

The music was no longer playing, and the crowd of onlookers remained quiet as Colin looked at her steadily. “Well?” he asked, his face looking less confident than it had a moment ago.

She blinked, realizing she hadn’t responded to his question yet. “Do I have to sing my answer?” she asked, making everyone laugh. “Because I don’t really sing.”

Colin gave her a slow sexy grin that made her core turn to liquid heat. “You’ve already proved you can sing, love, but a simple yes will do.”

“Yes,” she said in a breathy tone. “Yes, I’ll marry you.”

Colin’s smile widened as he took her outstretched hand and slipped the ring onto her finger. It fit perfectly, making her feel like she could breathe again.

Josie noticed Colin’s grandmother hovering behind him, her hands clasped over her chest. “Bravo,” she said, blowing Josie a kiss.

As the crowd around them cheered and clapped, Colin jumped to his feet and gently cradled Josie’s face with his hands. “I love you,” he said, his thumb stroking her skin. “I don’t deserve you, but I know I can’t live without you.”

“Then it’s a good thing you don’t have to,” Josie said, pulling his head down. His lips were warm and soft and tasted like heaven. He smelled so good, his spicy scent swirling around her as he pulled her closer and kissed her with exquisite tenderness and an underlying passion that heated every single nerve in her body.

The words from the song they sang together flitted through her mind as Colin deepened the kiss. Josie was no longer alone. With Colin, she was right where she belonged. She was finally home.

  Colin’s Song

  Rescued by Cindy Roland Anderson

I’m broken. Hands empty, with nothing left to give. Shattered. Heart empty. Not sure I want to live. Then you saw me. The real me. The one I never knew. And I’m rescued as you take my hand and pull me up to you. Rescued. I’m rescued. All because of you.

Invisible, and hollow. Nowhere to call home. Lonely. Heart empty. Don’t want to be alone. Then you saw me. The real me. The one I never knew. And I’m rescued as you take my hand and pull me up to you. Yeah, rescued. I’m rescued. With only me and you.

There was no light. There was no hope. I was drowning in the dark. But you saw the truth, reached out your hand and rescued me with love. You saved me. Loved me. And healed my broken heart.

I found you. The real you. The one meant just for me. Surrounded by your love, our hearts now beat as one. Rescued. Yeah, rescued. No longer all alone. Rescued. Rescued. Two hearts that beat as one.
