“Man, look. I’m sorry. Lord knows I am not one to be throwing stones and obstacles at anyone. But, Portia seems like a nice person and Carrie really cares about her. So… don’t hurt her. If you cannot make a commitment you need to walk away now, before it is too late.”

Mumbling to myself I say, “I think it already is.”

Even with that thought swirling around in my mind, I know I don’t want to give up until we have a solution. But what? How? Then it hits me. Dating. I am only here for a few more days, but in that time, I can woo her, date her, and show her I am serious even from a distance. I mean long distance relationships work. Right?

Doesn’t matter. I finally have a plan and I will stop at nothing to see it through.

Nothing makes me happier than when we pull back up in front of the house. Jetting out of the car I run inside and start planning my method of attack. I am so in my head that I almost don’t see Carrie standing there.

“Whoa. Perry, where’s the fire?” she says laughing.

“I’m sorry Carrie. Lost in thought. Hey, by any chance do you know of a good place to go for dinner?”

She smiles a knowing smile. “As a matter of fact, about three miles down the road. Dex and I have a creek on the property. It’s the perfect place for a picnic.” She says winking her eye. Humm……a picnic. Perfect.

“Awesome. Do you mind putting it together for me?”

“Of course, I will. And since Portia happens to be my best friend, I know all of her favs.”

Smiling at her all-knowing smirk I lean over to kiss her on the cheek.

“Get your own woman Gentry. Keeps your paws off mine.” I laugh, throw my hands up and walk away.

With any luck, I am well on my way.

When I sit down in the booth of Missy’s Dinner, I am immediately hit with a sense of nostalgia. I used to come here with my grandparents every Sunday in the summer and have a huge pancake breakfast. It doesn’t look like a single thing has changed in the last fourteen years. The floor is still the same black and white checked tile. The seats are red vinyl and the tables are the same scarred chrome plated squares that are straight out of the fifties. The jukebox has been updated through. It is currently playing a Taylor Swift song.

It smells incredible in here and I am ordering the pancakes. I worked up quite an appetite last night. Just thinking about Perry makes me smile. I am the first one here and that doesn’t bode well. You’d think that with the kind of money I plan on shelling out the designer would be on time.

I spot her as soon as she walks in the door. She is tall, with black hair, and a killer tan. She is dressed in ripped jeans, kitten heels, and a form fitting blazer with clearly nothing on under it. She looks awesome. I forget my momentary anger as soon as she leans down in the booth and hugs me.

“Hi. You must be Portia. Migan Danvers.” She says extending her hand as she sits. “Sorry, we are late. Kennedy’s daughter, Regan power barfed all over her.”

“Oh, goodness. Is she ok?” I ask.

“Yeah. The little pig ate too fast.” Kennedy says as she plops down next to Migan. She looks exhausted, but at the same time she looks ecstatic. “Kennedy Crawford.” I shake her hand as well.

“Nice to meet you both. I am excited to discuss this opportunity with you.” I legit don’t know what I am doing and am desperate to be a part of something, I hope it doesn’t bite me in the ass.

“We should be thanking you.” Migan says.

  The waitress interrupts us.

“Hi. I am Cadi. What can I get you to drink?”

  “I’ll have a coffee.”

“Water for me please.” Kennedy says.

“I’ll have a vanilla milkshake.” Migan says. It’s only 9:30 in the morning, but I can’t help laughing.

  “What?” She says.

“Nothing.” I think I am going to like this girl.

  “Anything else?” Cadi asks.

“I would like a short stack of pancakes and an order of bacon.”

  “Nothing for me.” Kennedy says.

“I’ll take a cheeseburger and French fries.” Migan says.

Therefore, I love diners. You can get what you when you want.

“No problem. I will get this order in now and bring it out when it’s ready.” She says walking away.

Taking a deep breath, I turn my attention back to the girls. “So, tell me about your designs and what you want to see happen?”

“I brought my portfolio and some samples. Ideally, Kennedy and all the girls are wanting to open a boutique in downtown Moosehead. Kennedy has already found the location. My designs will be exclusive to the boutique for five years.”

Cadi returns with the coffee, water and the milkshake. I immediately add cream and sugar.

She slides her portfolio over to me and I start flipping through it. I am blown away. Literally. Her designs are fresh and modern, yet versatile. For instance, there is a vest in the portfolio much like the one she is wearing. The only difference being, you can turn it inside out and it goes from a night look to a day look. The material, which she has glued onto the side of the design is some sort of cotton/polyester blend. Hell, I want to wear most of this stuff.

“Ok these are fantastic. I can’t wait to see these hanging up in the store.”

“So, you’ll do it?” Migan asks. Her voice is full of excitement.

“Of course. If all your stuff is as great as what I am seeing in this book, The House of Danvers is going to be huge and I would be stupid to not invest. And right now, before you blow up.”

Kennedy looks just as excited. “OMG that is awesome. The minute you showed us these designs at the reveal party at Penny’s house I knew it was going to be a hit.”

  Kennedy’s excitement is infectious.

“So, what exactly will I be investing in. Both, the boutique and the line?”

“Just the line. All of our husbands are putting up the money for the storefront and they are doing the construction.”

“All of you have husbands?” I ask. I mean I hope that didn’t sound bratty, but seriously how old are all of them?

“Girl, I don’t need to be tied down right now and listening to an overbearing douche hole. No thanks. This is my time. No offense to your men, Ken. They seem to be the exception to the rule.” Migan says.

“I am not married either.” I say. Not sure how I feel about it, but it’s the truth nonetheless.

“Give it time. These boys don’t mess around in these parts.” Kennedy says, smiling.

“I don’t know what you mean.” I say.

“Rumor has it that Perry Gentry was all over you.”

“Oh my God. How mortifying. That was just last night.”

“These boys don’t do “just last night” trust me.” I can feel my face heating. When Kennedy steps out to use her phone, Migan and I are left at the table.

“We should have a contract made up. Get incorporated, right?” She asks. Seriously, I hope she doesn’t expect me to have an answer because I honestly do not know.

“I am going to be honest with you, Migan. I have never done this before. Perhaps we should consult a lawyer?”

“That sounds good. I am sure there are some downtown.”

“I can look into it. Let’s exchange numbers and I will let you know when I schedule an appointment.” I leave the diner feeling amazing.

When I get back to Carrie-Ann’s and Dex’s I see Perry sitting on the front porch with a picnic basket.

“Hi Perry.” I say as he stands and pulls me into his arms. The kiss he gives me makes my toes curl and my panties damp. He looks hot as hell in his knee length khaki shorts, a Celtics T-shirt, and flips.

“Hey Angel. Get changed because we are going out. Not that I don’t fucking love this tight-ass skirt.” He says, while twisting a piece of my hair that has come loose from the low bun around his index finger. He lets it go and playfully pushes me toward the front door.

“Oh yea. What if I have plans?” I definit
ely don’t but I can’t keep giving in so easy.

  “Change um.” He says shrugging.

I giggle and kiss him again. Not even able to pretend I am upset that he is so cocky. Running inside, I change into a pair of cutoff jean shorts and an American flag tank top. I slide on my brown cowboy boots, because why not? Meeting him outside, he makes a strangled groaning sound deep in his throat and grabs my hand leading me down a worn trailhead. As we walk he keeps his hand in mine and his thumb rubbing circles on the back of my hand, while making me wish his hands were all over my body.

When we reach our destination, I am about to lose my mind. I see nothing but beautifully creepy trees and flat green grass for as far as the eye can see. After helping him lay the blanket down on the ground, I can’t take it anymore. He is taking food out of the basket, but I am hungry for something else entirely. When I see the fare that he has, I see he has pulled out all the stops.

All of my favorite summertime foods are here, including cheesecake. Maybe I am hungry.

“This is a nice date. If it is a date, I mean.” Jesus. I am a friggin dork.

“It’s a date, Angel.” He says as a matter of fact, that I feel like I should have known.

This man makes me all kinds of crazy and I don’t really know a thing about him.

“So, tell me about yourself, Perry.” I say smiling. I find myself leaning towards him wanting to know all I can about him.

“So, tell me about yourself, Perry.” That statement takes me out of the lust-filled daze I was previously in. Before she said that to me, I was picturing all the dirty things I could do to her out here under the sun. Not being far from the pond and with nature surrounding us, we are doing what nature intended. I could picture her naked laying spread out before me looking like a wood nymph and tree sprite all in one. She is waiting for me to take her with Bambi and the like watching.

“Perry. Hey. Are you ok?” Shit. Get it together man.

“Yea baby. I’m sorry. I was thinking ahead to our next date. Got lost in the thought. Uh, let’s see. There is not much to tell. I am a lawyer as is everyone in my family. and I work at the family firm. I live in Boston. And that is pretty much it.”

She wrinkles the top of her forehead at me as if she is trying to see to the inside of me. I get the feeling she thinks I am holding something back from her, but the truth is there is nothing for me to tell.

‘So that’s it. No girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, hobbies, passions… nothing.”

“No. No. No. You. In that order.” I lean over and steal a kiss. Hoping we can deflect the conversation from me. But I should have known my Angel would not be deterred.

“Seriously Perry. I want to know about the man I gave my virginity too. Then, maybe I won’t feel so…confused.” Fuck. She got me. There is no way I want her feeling any type of regret about our time together. Guess it is time to confess.

“Baby, I literally just work. Night and day. In my family that is sort of what is expected. We are all bred to be lawyers and to join the family firm. That’s it. I don’t have time for much of anything else anymore. And, before I met you I didn’t care.” I look at her to gauge her reaction to the information I just gave her and to my surprise, the look on her face is something akin to sympathy.

“Are you at least happy, Perry?” Her face full of concern. My heart literally leaps out of my chest at the emotion she is exhibiting for me.

“I never gave it much thought, baby. I just went through the motions, I think. I didn’t have a reason to care. But sitting here with you, I think I finally know what happiness is. So, my answer to your question is I wasn’t happy, but I am now.” With that I pull her into my lap and mesh our mouths together. Delicately at first, but when she grabs the front of my shirt and moans into my mouth my best intentions of a soft kiss turn into an all-out frenzy. I grab her hair and turn her head, so she is angled the way I want her. Sticking my tongue into her mouth, I lick the inside of her mouth the way I want to do her sweet pussy. She begins to move herself over my khaki covered cock and it is all I can do to not come on myself. Sucking her tongue into my mouth I forget myself for a second and kiss her all over her face, before making my way to her neck.

“Fuck Angel. We need to stop. This date was for us to talk and get to know each other. But baby if you don’t stop, I am going to strip you right here and fuck you into oblivion.” I pull her off me, while softening the kiss and calming her down.

Kissing her one last time I wrap my arms around her and say, “Your turn baby. Tell me about you.”

Fuck! He lives in Boston. I think as I climb off his lap in the least graceful manner ever. My legs are fucking shaking. I need to come, desperately. I don’t know why this man gets me so worked up, but now isn’t the time. It’s becoming clear to me that I am just a vacation booty. Just because I may have feelings doesn’t mean he does. I need to take a deep breath, because for some reason I feel like crying.

“Well, I am twenty-two. I just graduated from college and I am currently job hunting, sort of.” I manage to choke out.

“Sort of?” What does that mean?” He asks.

“My meeting this morning was about an investment opportunity I am really excited about. It could be really lucrative in my field of study, which is rare ya know.”

  “What field is that?’”

“Business management and fashion. I want to help start a fashion label.”

“Have you consulted a lawyer who specializes in Fashion or Business Law?” He asks. He seems genuinely interested in this.

“Fashion Law? Is that a real thing?”

“Of course. They have the knowledge you will need to protect your intellectual property as well as the finances.”

“You seem like you know about it.” I say, touching his arm. Just touching his skin makes me feel better.

“I studied it at law school. I’ll admit it appeals to me, but my family would never let that slide. Instead, I took all the classes available but focused on corporate law overall.”

“Let me guess…All those models, right?” I say, smiling.

“Maybe.” He says, laughing before continuing. “That’s not all. It’s an easy industry to get dicked over in. Most creative types in my experience are all about their craft. They don’t worry about the details, until it’s too late. I love that am proudly above the cut in that aspect.” I smile. I can tell he is a good man. There are so many cutthroat attorneys out there and he is breath of fresh air.

I reach over and take a bite of cheesecake using a hot pink plastic fork. I am not hungry, but I need to do something with my hands before I lose my mind. He takes a long pull of a bottle of domestic beer that I didn’t see when he originally opened the basket. I peek into the basket and see that there is more where that came from. I pull one out and pop the top. The cold beer slides down my throat, but I want his kisses more.

“You are a good guy, Perry. It’s nice to get to know you.”

“You say that like this is ending.” He says as he strokes his index finger down my cheek.

“It is. You live in Boston and I live here. It’s simple geography.”

“Angel, if you think I will let something as simple as geography stand in the way of this, you will soon realize the kind of man I really am.”

  “Yeah?” He makes me breathless.

“Yeah.” He kisses me slowly as I come closer to him.

“You are so fucking beautiful and all fucking mine. Don’t forget that Angel.”

“Yours. Got it. Fuck me, please.” Before I know it my tank top is gone and he is sliding my shorts down my legs. I kick my boots off and yank the button open oh his shorts. He somehow manages to get his shorts and boxers off. When he sits back down his cock is hard and huge. I fucking want it. I am so wet and slide my panties to the side to slowly fill my pussy with his cock.

“Fuck, Angel. Your pussy is so tight.” He growls at me.

“Yeah? Damn, Perry. I want you to fuck me in every position you can think of.
Own me.”

“Fuck yes. You’ve got a dirty mouth. I think you’re a secret bad girl, aren’t you baby? You’re begging to be bred tonight.” He says as he thrusts his hips up meeting every downward push of mine. I arch my back as his hands grip my hips, while I bounce up and down on him. His filthy words make me even wetter and I really didn’t think that was possible.

“I’m so fucking close, Perry.” We are risking a lot because he has taken me each time without protection. Honestly, having his baby doesn’t freak me out like it should. Instead, it feels so right. When his lips go around my nipple, I lose it. I am coming like crazy as I am screaming out nonsense, while he whispers into my ear. I can’t really make out what he is saying, but it sounded a lot like love. We still have so much to discuss, but for right now in this moment it is enough. Consequences be damned. When I feel his cock explode inside me, my pussy clenches around him and just like that I am coming again. Fuck, being this happy can’t be good. Because, when this all falls around me it going to hurt like hell.

Shit. The picnic yesterday was amazing. My Angel is beautiful and sexy as hell. Who knew sex outside in the open could be so good and the after was even better. We went back to the house and spent the rest of the day in bed. And the day after that. We talked, kissed, and whispered things we wanted for and with each other. We showered together and got dirty all over again. It got so bad Carrie and Dex took to leaving plates for us outside the door. It was a wonderful fulfillment of life. Until reality set in.

We both realized the next day after our meeting. I was going to be flying out and we knew there is no choice, but to finally confront the elephant in the room.
