“It’s okay,” she replied, forcing out a smile. He looked at her and smiled. She shrugged. “What?”
“That bottle was unopened last time I checked,” he frowned. She smiled.
“Maybe. Or maybe you are just losing track of what is going on around you,” she suggested. He looked at her and smiled.
“Is everything okay?” Steven asked.
“Everything is fine,” she said.
“I hate to call you out on this, but seriously, I think there is something going on,” he fretted.
“Come on, I made dinner,” she said. Steven raised one eyebrow over the other and smiled.
“You made dinner? Now I’m really concerned,” he teased. She shrugged and stood up and then walked to the kitchen. “Is it okay if we just eat in here bumming out in front of the telly?” he asked. She smiled and nodded, even though he could not see her.
“Sure,” she replied. Her head was spinning as she served the food and then walked back to the living room.
“Smells really good,” Steven said as she sat down.
“Wine?” she offered. Steven smiled and shook his head.
“Somehow I feel like you’ve had enough for the both of us,” he said with a smile. She shrugged and then reached for her glass.
“To us,” she said before they began eating. Halfway through dinner, she looked at him and smiled. “How tired are you?” she asked as she looked at him.
“Not very, why?” he
“I just need….” Her voice trailed off. She looked at him and wondered how she was supposed to start this talk. There was no telling what exactly she was supposed to start this conversation. She shook her head and shrugged. “Never mind,” she said before she took a bite of her food.
“I think I know what you want to say,” he said as he put his plate on the table. She looked at him and he took her plate too and placed it on the table next to his. Her heart was pounding hard and fast. He moved closer to her and smiled before he kissed her deeply. She had half a mind to push him away, but if ever there was a relaxing technique, sex was it. She raised her arm and slipped it behind his neck before she went on kissing him. The kisses grew deeper and more intense. Steven slowly brought his body down on her and laid his full weight on her. Steven pulled away and looked into her eyes before he slipped a hand under her and undid the clasp of her bra in one move freeing her breasts. Her nipples were already hard from the passionate atmosphere. He looked at her and then slowly began lifting her top up. She lifted her hands up and allowed him to pull the top over her head and off her arms. She whimpered when he slowly caressed her nipples. She wanted to cry out as he toyed around with her hard nipple around his index finger. She was breathing hard as he brought his head down to slowly trail kisses down her chest. Steven held one breast in his hand as he circled his tongue around her nipple. She was whimpering and moaning as he went on giving the much needed attention to her breasts. She sighed her relief when he pulled his mouth from her nipple, but it was short lived because he trailed his tongue across to her other breast to take in the other nipple. Julie closed her eyes and held his head against her moaning softly.
Steven pulled away and began kneading her breasts softly at first and then a bit more intensely as he went on until her moans became apparent. He looked into her eyes as one hand dropped to her waist. She looked up at him and undid her pants before she raised her hips to allow him pull them down. He came back up and looked down at her as he slipped two fingers into either side of her panties and began pulling them downwards. Even after all this time of being together, Julie still felt strange being naked while he was still fully dressed, especially now that he had full control of the moment. She raised her hips as he pulled her panties down. She looked at him as he entered her with one finger. She moaned softly as he slowly moved his finger in and out of her until she was no longer moist but sopping wet. He pulled his finger out and licked it as he looked down at her. Somehow, that turned her on so much more than anything else he had done. Even if he went down on her that would still have been the hottest thing to her. He then pulled away from her and got on the floor. She looked at him as he slowly stripped. But he was too slow, almost as if he was trying to taunt her.
Steven got back on top of her and kissed her softly. He used his knees to spread her legs and then guided his cock to her entrance. She gasped loudly when she felt the head of his cock pop into her pussy. Steven looked down at her in concern.
“You okay?” he asked in a whisper. She nodded.
“I’m fine,” she said as he pushed more of his length into her. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders as he went in deeper inside her until finally, she cried out when he buried himself to the hilt. Steven pulled away and looked into her eyes. She was wincing as he pulled out of her and pushed back into her depths slowly. He went on working himself inside her until he was sliding in and out of her with ease. He buried his face in her neck as he went on fucking her hard as he went on. She was sighing and moaning loudly with every thrust he was giving her. If she didn’t know any better, she could have been sure that at some point, his thrusts would split her into two. She quickly came to a realization that the sweet and gentle lover she had known had been overtaken by the man on top of her who was overwhelmed with the violent need to orgasm. She wanted to scream as he buried himself deep inside her over and over again. But what she didn’t expect was for him to suddenly stop and he did and then pulled his full length out of her. She moaned softly and looked up at him. The violent need to orgasm in his eyes had been replaced by the soft look she had come to know and love. She was panting as he lowered himself on her and kissed her deeply. She suddenly screamed into his mouth when he buried himself deep inside her. She looked at him as he began moving in and out of her again, hard and deep.
She dug her nails into his skin and buried her head in his shoulder as he went on and on, fucking her long and hard. Amidst all the long strokes, she suddenly felt her pussy pulsating violently against his cock. She let out a loud moan.
“Steven...baby...” she moaned as she pulled her head from his shoulder and looked into his eyes. Somehow, hearing his name on her lips must have fuelled him further. He was now fucking her harder, thrusting deeper than ever. His orgasm was approaching fast and the fact that her pussy was violently pulsating was not helping. “Baby, I am going to cum…slow down…I’m going to…” Julie cried as he went on fucking her hard.
“It’s okay baby. I want you to,” he groaned in a low voice as he looked into her eyes. Her moans quickly graduated into groans as she exploded all around his cock. He was now filling her up with his cum and their shared orgasm was making her tremble as he went into her over and over. When he finally slowed down, she heard a loud queef from her pussy. She suddenly felt her cheeks flush, but Steven brought his head down and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“That was so good baby,” he whispered. She smiled and looked into his eyes and then kissed him again.
“Scooch over,” Steven said when his cock slipped out of her. He lay next to her and held her close. Even though she had just had what was unarguably the best sex of her life, she was still thinking of the big news she had to tell him. How was she supposed to say that at a time like this? This was the worst possible timing. She took a long, deep breath and ran her hand up and down his arm. “I think I worked up quite an appetite.”
“Are you saying you’re up for dinner now?”
“Sure. As soon as I get cleaned up,” he said. She turned and looked at him.
“Go on. I’ll get it started,” she said. Steven frowned.
“Aren’t you coming to the bathroom with me?” he grinned. She smiled and shook her head.
“Been there done that. If I follow you there, we both know we will never get to eat,” she giggled. Steven raised an eyebrow and feigned seriousness.
“Whatever do you mean?” he winked. She looked at him and smiled.
“I’ll use the guest bathroom. But you can bring me a bathrob
e. That I wouldn’t mind,” she said as she got up from the couch. She felt a warm liquid trickle down her inside thigh. Damn, she needed to cleaned up. Steven spanked her and she turned around looking at him feigning anger.
“Babe, your ass was right there…you didn’t expect me to just ignore it, did you?” he asked. She smiled and walked out of the living room, down the hallway to the guest bathroom. Once she was there, she looked at her reflection and sighed.
“Damn you Google. Some help you were,” she thought as she turned on the water. She splashed some water on her face and then wet some tissues to clean her pussy. When she was done, she walked out of the bathroom then to the kitchen. She served two plates and then stuck one into the microwave and then walked to the living room. She picked up the clothes on the floor before she walked them to the bedroom. Steven was just walking out of the bathroom.
“Missed me already?” he asked as he walked to the closet and put on some dry pants. She smiled and shrugged as she dumped the dirty laundry into the hamper.
“Sometimes you are so full of yourself,” she joked as she put on a bathrobe. He looked at her as he put on his pants.
“Dinner’s ready?” he asked.
“It’s been ready for two hours,” she stated as she walked out of the bedroom with Steven following close behind.
“It smells great,” he said. They walked into the kitchen where she took the plate out of the microwave and replaced it with the other one.
“You could just go on. I’ll join you later,” she said. “Want some wine to go with that?”
“Sure.”
She poured him a glass and then poured one for herself before she took her plate out of the microwave. She sat down next to him and looked down at her plate. Her appetite was gone. All she wanted to do was come clean. Steven looked at her and shrugged. “You’re okay? You’re not eating,” he worried. She looked at him and took a long deep breath.
“I need to tell you something,” she said.
“And there it is. I knew all this was too good to be true,” he said smiling. But Julie was not in a position to feel offended. She looked at him and took another long breath.
“My ex is in town,” she started. Steven shrugged.
“Okay,” he replied. She knew he was probably wondering what the big deal was.
“He wants to get married and he can’t because he is still married,” she babbled. Steven took another bite and shook his head probably still trying to understand where all this was going.
“Okay. Where is this going?” he questioned. Julie’s heart was crushing.
“He is still married to me,” she murmured without looking at him. Steven dropped his knife and fork and swallowed what he had in his mouth. She could almost feel what was going through his mind at that moment.
This is a bad joke. She is trying to prank me or something.”
He was not speaking. He turned to look at her.
“What did you say?”
“Apparently it happened sometime back when we were in Vegas. Back when I was still in college…I think I drank too much because honestly babe, I don’t remember any of that. I didn’t even know until he told me,” Julie explained. She felt a tear rolling down her cheek. “Say something.” Steven took a long, deep breath and shrugged.
“What am I supposed to say?” he retorted. She looked at him as he pulled his seat from the table and walked out of the kitchen. She let the tears she had fought to keep at bay for so long finally roll down her cheeks. She brushed them away just as Steven came back wearing a shirt, his jacket in hand.
“Where are you going?” she asked.
“I need some time,” Steven said.
“Yes, but your car is not here…” she said, but by that time he was already at the door.
“I just need time, Juelz,” he sighed before he walked out leaving Julie to cry freely.
Chapter Five
Steven felt like the world’s biggest loser. It had been two days since Julie told him of her ‘marriage’ and instead of being the supportive fiancé, he had walked out. He even took that opportunity, though it was anything but, to go down to New York for business. But even there, he could still not stomach the idea that the woman he loved was actually married to someone else. Well, granted, she didn’t know she was otherwise she would have told him about it… wouldn’t she? He didn’t think she was the kind of person to keep secrets from him, even the darkest ones. All he wanted was to have her back. But at that moment, he didn’t know whether he had burnt his bridges or not. As soon as he landed, he had Terrence drive him to Julie’s place. When he got to the door, he rang the bell. No answer. He rang it again, but there was still no answer. He got his keys and got into the house.
“Maybe she didn’t hear the door,” he thought when he walked into the house. There was loud music playing. If he didn’t know any better he would have mistaken the place for a discotheque. He made his way down the hallway to the living room where Julie was vacuuming while singing along to Pink’s Blow Me at the top of her voice. A smile played on his lips as he watched her pretend to sing into a microphone. She was perfect. Every bit of her was. Even in the t-shirt and tights, she was still the most gorgeous woman to him. He couldn’t imagine a life without her…ever. His heart was beating fast as he watched her all the while trying to figure out how he would approach her without startling her. He smiled and began walking towards the iPod speakers and then turned it off making Julie turn around surprised.
“I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to startle you,” Steven said apologetically. She shrugged and switched off the vacuum cleaner.
“It’s okay,” she replied.
“Some late night cleaning, I see,” he joked. She smiled and shrugged.
“I needed to get my head off things,” she admitted. Steven felt his heart sink. He looked at her as he tried getting the right words for his apology. There was no sure way to start or end this. This was the most annoying feeling in the world. Nothing he formulated in his head seemed to be right.
“Listen, I…” they both started before they smiled at each other.
“You go first,” Julie offered. Steven smiled and walked towards her slowly. “Don’t. I’ve been cleaning all day,” she said when Steven got too close. But he shook his head and took a step forward before taking her face in his hands and kissing her deeply. When he pulled away, her hands were at her side. “What was that for?”
“I missed you,” he whispered.
“I missed you too.”
“And I’m an idiot for walking out on you that night,” he confessed. She smiled and put her hands on his shoulders. She opened her mouth to speak, but he shook his head and put his index finger on her lips. “No, I know you are going to say that I needed the time to process the shock but I should have stuck by you. That’s what we do,” he said. She smiled and felt a heaviness in her eyes. Her gaze dropped when she felt a tear roll down one cheek. “Hey, don’t do that,” he soothed as he brushed the tear away using his thumb. She closed her eyes and a fresh flow of tears rolled down her cheeks. Steven pulled her into his arms and held her close.
“I thought I lost you,” she whispered. Steven planted a kiss on her head.
“You wouldn’t even if you tried,” he reassured her. Julie smiled and pulled away from him.
“I’m really sorry,” she apologized. Steven shook his head.
“What for? You can’t be sorry for something that is totally not your fault.”
“Well, I at least should have known,” she said. He smiled and kissed her again.
“We all marry people we hate and wonder why we did it in the first place,” he said. She pulled away and looked at him. “Don’t look at me like that. I’m just saying stuff to comfort you.” She smiled and took his hand in hers.
“Can I get you something to eat?” she offered.
“Maybe just something really light,” he suggested. “My tummy is still a bit unsettled from all the motion?” She looked at him and raised an ey
ebrow.
“So you really were in New York?”
“Did you think I was avoiding you?” . She shrugged.
“I thought it was something you made up just so you didn’t have to face me,” she admitted. Steven forced out a laugh.
“That’s not my style,” he said as the two made their way to the kitchen.
“Is Terrence with you?” she asked. Steven ran his fingers through his hair and sighed.
“I better release him,” he teased as he reached for his phone in his jacket pocket. She looked at him and smiled. “Or would you rather I left?” There was a playful tone in his voice when he asked that.
“Depends. Are you sleeping with Terrence?” she asked. He frowned and quickly dialed Terrence.
“You know you will pay for that, right?” he asked with a smile. Julie flashed him a naughty smile and nodded. “Terrence, listen, you can take off. I’ll call you in the morning and let you know what time to come pick me up,” he told him before he hung up. Julie got vegetables from the fridge and then set them on the counter as Steven sat opposite her looking at her. She got him a bottle of water and then washed her hands before she began chopping the tomatoes. “So, have you thought of what you’re going to do?” he asked. She shrugged and nodded.
“I’m getting an annulment,” she announced.
“Not a divorce?” he asked. She shook her head.
“I don’t want that to be on my record. It’s a part of my life that I don’t know and don’t even remember happening,” she said. Steven nodded. “It’s just one of those things you want to get over and done with, you know?” she asked even though her question was rhetorical. “It just sucks. I mean I have had exes, but this one was the worst of them all. I don’t know why it had to be him…it just…sucks,” she repeated as she felt her eyes getting heavy again. Steven got off the chair and walked round the counter to hold her. “I’m so sorry, babe,” she apologized amidst sobs. She leaned her head against his chest as he ran his hand up and down her back comforting her. It seemed like forever before she finally stopped crying.
