Hansen's heartbeat pumped under the bones of his chest and he moaned again. His hips now slowly thrust against her, and ripples spread through her body.
The muscles of her legs tightened with each thrust of their hips against each other. Her heart raced and her hands trembled. She kept working, wiggling her entire body, and waiting to feel the magic of the transformation, not knowing how or when it would begin.
Hansen held her tight, engulfing her in his arms. “I will bring you out of the water when it starts. Yes ... don't stop.” He kissed her cheek and his lips brushed her ear.
Her body pulsed against the rod inside her body and she felt the tingles grow, radiating up from his cock into her body. She began to pump over his hips frantically, hoping this would be the magic they needed. Her legs tightened around him, and the tingling pulse in her hips grew stronger.
Hansen raised her out of the water. “Good ... give it all."
Pulses of pleasure surged through her body. His hips pushed upward when she could no longer move. Prickles rose over her body when he held her hips and pumped his rod to the limits of her sheath.
"Oh, yes ... it comes..."
His cock surged inside her body, filling her with his seed. She could only see the swirls of color floating around her like a dream. Her body pulsed on top of his hips and she kept moving until her chest felt like it would burst. She finally released the last of the water from her gills, and the world faded from her awareness.
For a time, she floated, certain only of the wonderful sensations he brought out in her body.
"Mariah?"
In the dreamy darkness, she could hardly see Hansen's face.
"Look around."
She didn't see him with the same shimmering qualities. When she looked carefully, she realized his hair was dry. She felt the soft bedding and opened her mouth to talk.
"Shhh ... The transformation is complete. You did fine! Your wings are the most beautiful colors I have ever seen. The magic felt so strong, I had to surrender every drop from my body to you."
Mariah took a moment to realize she was breathing air, and it now felt exactly the same as when she had been breathing water.
"I let you sleep for a time once we calmed down. I thought you might have been hurt, but your breathing looked strong.” He lay back on the bed, naked and shameless for it.
She wanted to explore. Her body felt different because of the wings, but it wasn't her own body she wanted to explore. She moved closer to Hansen. Although no longer floating like she was in the water, she had no difficulty in straddling his legs again.
"Don't worry ... we have time."

"You have finally returned! I see from the color of your skin, you did not spend much time outdoors."
"Under tents or in the water, it was a relaxing time. I have a few orders of business to arrange with you before I get back to my routines."
Mariah could hear the voices but couldn't see their faces since Hansen asked her to wait in the doorway.
"Ah, yes ... well, Gerid has a few curt words for your return because I refused his requests for additional ships along the Hotva border. He seems to think I have never commanded a single ship in my life, much less the entire fleet. Certainly, I have not become a doddering old coot?” The king stood and walked to the entrance of the private veranda. “What in the world are you hiding, Hansen?"
"Father, this is Mariah."
"My word, it's true.” The king stopped and looked over the radiant colors of her wings to the brilliant red tips of her feathers. “And a lovely lady, too. Come, dear, I want you to meet my Queen. Hannah!"
"Hansen ... you called him ... Father.” Mariah began to tremble.
"Of course he did, I am his father.” The king looked over her quietly. “He never told you about his family or his life here?"
"We have had so much to discuss,” Hansen said.
"And she is perfectly capable of answering for herself!” The old man raised the bottom his cane and pointed the end at Hansen, but laughter in his voice belied the threat.
"Hansen taught me many things about living in the air, how to fly, and the many places he likes to go. He spoke of his father, who is also his greatest friend, but we did not discuss the work you do."
"Well, I think we can forgive that ... the Queen will be eager to see you. She is the daughter of the High Council Speaker for Dorinlet. I think you may have even heard of her. I am sure she could get a message to your family that you are alive and well on the surface."
"Excuse me ... Father?” Hansen couldn't speak, so he relied on his hands to express his confusion.
"Yes? Did you notice she has the same bold colors in her feathers as your mother? The tips of the feathers are the same colors as her fins were in the water. Correct?"
"You told me...” Hansen took a deep breath, trying to quell his fury and to formulate a proper phrasing of the blistering accusation he was thinking.
The king cut in before Hansen could formulate the question. “You asked me if I ever saw a woman in the waters when I was sailing. I did not. When I was a child, I would play in the sands, and a girl came to the waters where we would play. I was chastised for telling wild stories, so I kept my special friend a secret."
"What happened?"
"In time, I had to attend school, just as you did. I thought I lost her. I thought the royal women in school were ninnies. When I came back to the castle, I tried to swim and play like I did as a child, but it lost the appeal because I didn't have Hannah. I began the command of the Fleet, as you did. I walked the beach one night when I heard her call. I was overjoyed. She transformed that night.” The king laughed and his eyes danced.
"You chastised me because my ‘talk’ of sea creatures spread rumors among the shipmen!"
"You could have been a bit more discreet. You ran naked through part of the fleet when the officers were drinking rum!” The king shook his head. “Some people believe it never happens at all, others never know—like the charming princesses—that the colors on the wings cannot be faked by any groomsman, the colors are not painted."
"I have some of mother's colors ... that's why our wings are...?"
"Exactly. And your son's colors will likely be brighter."
Mariah smiled as Hansen stood taller. The natural course of events to their fevered love in the cove would be children in time.
"I do wish to make sure there is a proper marriage ritual for you and your mother will arrange for anything Mariah needs.” The king took a deep breath and hollered, “Hannah!"
"I'm right here, Senti!” The statuesque woman in a pale green dress stopped short. She extended her wing tip to the new young woman and Mariah extended a wing to her. “Hansen ... you? You never spoke of ... my Gods, it was the night of the storm! Look, she is Tronolé—and the beautiful colors! We must get word to her family!"
Mariah watched as Hansen bowed to them formally. He stepped closer and kissed her sweetly. “My mother and sisters will fuss. Let them do it. I'll see you tonight."
"You should have told me,” she admonished him.
"I asked you to be my queen in the water,” he reminded her.
"But, I never dreamed it would be like this,” she answered.
"Then it is my pleasure to make your dreams come true.” Hansen kissed her again.
Queen Hannah escorted her through the splendid palace, and the beginning of a wondrous lifetime.
The End
