Her siblings joined them on the podium to huddle with the princesses behind the piano and organ but the chaos was fading until silence descended on the church. Bodies and blood littered the floor. Soldiers and citizens had both perished and within the bodies she saw that of Mrs. Sherman, her eyes still in death. She would no longer cause pain. The citizens had won.

"What do we do now?" One of the elderly men asked. She blinked realizing that he would no longer live in fear of facing the gallows.

Riann stepped forward, "There are other places like Eden. I will divulge all of the secrets of those places but for now, we tear down the gallows and we live. What food you pick is yours. You will no longer be hungry and your children will no longer fear us."

Eamon stepped beside his brother, "And we will work to free the others but until then, know that you have nothing to fear from us."

The people cheered and for once it was filled with joy and hope.

  Epilogue

Serafina stared out of the window gazing toward the mountains. Thane stood beside her his arm around her waist, comforting her. She had killed and her father had died. Her heart and soul were in mourning. She took a deep breath as she peered out at the unknown, realizing there were people still suffering.

"Princess," Riann said behind her and she turned. He handed her a piece of paper. She frowned at it.

"This annuls our marriage," he said, raising his brows, "But you are still a princess. You are welcome to make anyone you want a prince."

"And you can make anyone you want a princess," she replied, raising her brow.

He winced as a man entered the room. He was handsome with brown hair and bright green eyes, "You see...I don't want a princess. I want a prince. Sean is his name. He is the friend I had who works the cameras."

She frowned confused, "Men can love men?" She asked, frowning.

"Yes, and there is a town for that too," he said, nodding, "And women can love women. We'll leave it at that for now. It gets very confusing to those who have not witnessed the various forms that love can come in."

She glanced between Sean and Riann seeing the love between them. She smiled, "Not really," she said with a shrug, "You love him and he loves you and I wish you the best."

Riann's smile widened, "That's why you are truly remarkable, Princess," he said, "You can see things others can't. It took Thane a while to understand and it may take the citizens a while to understand too."

She glanced out the window again, "I have faith in them."

"So do I," Riann said as he and Sean moved toward the door, hand in hand, "We'll leave you alone, Princess. Thank you for being my wife for the short time you were."

Then, he was gone leaving Serafina with Thane. He peered into her face, "Do you really believe the citizens will understand?"

She nodded, "I do. I think they will have more difficulty understanding what is beyond the walls," she said, "I have trouble seeing beyond Eden."

He pointed at the mountain, "The mountain that you so often stare at…There is a town there with the place for banishment in between. That place is called Haven."

She frowned as she took in the name, "We should open our wall to allow those in who have been banished and then, I want to travel to Haven."

He grinned and then, pulled her to him cupping her cheek, "I think that's a wonderful idea," he said, his eyes darkening, "After all, Princess, I will follow you anywhere."
